Unemployment Extension Benefits Passed by Executive Order?

The unemployment extension benefits bill has been thwarted by Congress.  The unemployment extension could be passed by Obama, if a petition from the 99ers goes through.  The 99ers are a grassroot group of long term unemployed that have not only been searching high and low for jobs, but also lobbying to protect their interests.

The temporary unemployment extension expired on June 2nd. Since then - actually since before then, the House and the Senate were working to pass HR 4213, the American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes act. The House passed the measure before Memorial day, and the Senate recently voted down the bill.

Politics as usual is getting in the way of benefits needed.  The democrats and republicans can't figure out how to pay for the measure.  The democrats want to push down a bunch of tax increases to small businesses, oil companies, and investment fund managers.  The republicans want to use unused stimulus funds.

In addition there are back and forth arguments about other provisions of the unemployment extension, such as one senator's desire to have mandatory drug testing for all those on unemployment benefits.

President Obama has expressed that he wants the unemployment benefits passed because of the millions of Americans that are in need of benefits. HR 4213 is dead right now, and so the 99ers have started a petition that could be delivered to Obama.

The petition calls for an executive order that will extend unemployment benefits to the long term unemployed. Let's just hope the measure is passed.

  8. I'm 55 never unemployed before and just completed Tier I. I don't mind taking a drug test. Would the Senate? They want you to look for a job however you need, a phone, gas, bus, internet, etc... How are we going to pay for those things if you don't extend benefits? You can't go to the unemployment office for fear of an angry mob. How about the men and women that have served our country first instead of the registered working aliens that are unemployed that continue to receive benefits? Let alone the hard workers that have paid into the program all their working lives.

  16. Do what I've been doing: Call Senator Orrin Hatch at (202) 224-5251 and ask if he's drunk. He must be for suggesting that the unemployed get tested for drugs. It's just another republican roadblock to the extension. It's worth noting that his secretary stated that the idea of drug testing is now "republican policy."
This creep and his buddies who would make billions performing the drug tests should be thrown out of a helicopter.

Space shuttle program is ending soon and that mean 8,000-10,000 MORE unemployed workers in my area. Exhausted ALL my savings and still we have lost our vehicles and we no longer can make our mortgage. Now they're talking about a double dip recession? Ive been on unemployment once before and had no problem finding a job in the 26 week time frame - i have now been out of work over a year and my ltest extension ends this week. i've already lost a car and file bankruptcy last month - i will lose the one thing I have left my home if they don't approve an extension. give me a drug test - i don't care but while you are at it drug test all the people recieving assitance and food stamps as well - thats where you will find the money to fund the want to work people for an extension. sounds simple why can't the senate figure it out. november is coming soon and I will vote (It's free to vote - I can afford that)

  25. 55 here .... also never unemployed before. I have completed tier 4 and am wondering what is next? I pray Obama is able to bypass the senate and pass this via Executive Order. I also pray that all those screaming against him recognize that it is YOUR SENATORS that have turned this down. It isn't the democrats or the republicans.... it is those in the senate who are responsible. Check your state's senator and REMEMBER when it comes to cast your vote!

  26. This is so sad, I was layoff due to the economy (job elimination) and not by my doing. I have been looking for a job and companies are not hiring. I only collected 26 wks of unemployment and my tier 1 was one day short of the bill. Currently, I have no income since 5/29th and don't know how I will pay for my mortgage, food, utilities and so many bills now in default. I worked so hard in my life and now affraid I will lose everything!!!! Please pass the extension for at least the tier 1-4 while they are bargaining tier 5.

I sacraficed SOOO much for my country and no one is looking after me now that I'm home! I was forgotten as soon as I left active duty. I couldnt even go to a VA dr app on Monday because I didn't have the money to drive that far! Which also means I don't get the medication I need to stop migrains and constant ringing of the ears from multiple tours of duty. SUCH A SAD DAY THAT I REALIZE THAT I DON'T MATTER! I FOUGHT FOR MY COUNTRY AND LIVE WITH IT EVERYDAY AND NOW I CAN'T EVEN GET MY UNEMPLOYMENT CHECK THAT I WAS ONLY ABLE TO RECIEVE FOR 26 WEEKS! THE ONLY JOB THE GOVERMENT MADE FOR ME IS GETTING SHOT AT AND BLOWN UP 12,000MI AWAY! TIRED OF THIS SHIT!~

  28. I am a 58 year old woman who has worked since I was 16 years old. I have had several jobs in my life, when one ended; I went out and got another one. It never occurred to me to get unemployment - until 2009 when I lost my last job. I was confident I would find a job, like always. I thought this time I better apply for unemployment in case it took longer than two months. It's been 1 1/2 years now. I have been actively seeking positions the whole time. 2009 the interviews were far and few between, but I would average one interview every month and a half. 2010 has been more active. I average two job interviews a month, sometimes more, sometimes less. I have come close on three jobs, 2nd place. The companies actually told me which is unusual. The average amount of interviews for me for a job are at least 2 times, sometimes 4 interviews, and rarely do I even get an call, email or letter telling me they have selected another candidate.

It is horrible looking for a job in the Administrative arena. I have been an Executive Administrative Assistant for 10+ years, and I am looking for anything in that field, receptionist, Administrative Assistant, customer service representative. I think my age group is the hardest hit. Companies know they can have anyone they want. They can get a college graduate to do secretary work because there are so many people out of work. They look at your age and know that putting you on their health insurance will cost them more than a person that is younger, and I believe that is one reason the majority of unemployed fall into the age group of 48 to 60+. This age group has worked all their lives, have contributed vast amounts of money into unemployment without taking much out. We are now losing our retirement money that we have tried to save over the years, 401K’s IRA’s, etc. They have lost a good percentage of that money with the “recession”, and then having to get into the funds to keep from losing their homes because they have lost their jobs and can’t find anything has wiped out many retirement savings. It is an awful mess, and middle aged people, and middle income America are suffering. We don’t have the time to make up for all that has been lost like the younger generation does. I know the younger aged people are having a hard time too, but they have the advantage of time and youth.

The unemployment extensions have been the only savior in keeping my home, which I have worked so hard for. The government needs to treat the massive unemployed with respect and continue to fund the extensions until our economy turns around. We are not lazy people who do not want to work and are using the system. We are hard working American's who have been severely financially hurt by the "depression" that was caused by big business and greed. We just want to work, be productive, pay our taxes and get on with our lives.

We need to stop sending money to foreign countries, stop taking care of illegal alien’s affairs, medical, welfare, etc., stop sending Social Security checks to dead people at a tune of $180 million in 2009, and start taking care of the working people of the United States. We are the tax payers, we are the consumers, and we are the people that keep our country's economy going and business thriving and tax money in the government’s hands to pay for all this country needs.

For those who still have jobs, they may feel the unemployment problem may not be their concern. They probably know someone who is unemployed, but unless it directly affects them, they are not concerned. But we the unemployed are in the millions now, and the numbers are rising, not declining.

Our government needs to make taking care of the unemployed their priority so we can keep our economy strong and our people healthy and to prevent the middle class from getting so far in debt, they can't dig themselves out.

  34. It is time for President Obama to step up and prove that he is the leader of this country! I am 48 years old and have worked since I was 16. This is the 1st time in my life that I have been without medical insurance and now to be completely broke. While they are enjoying vacations, I can't afford to buy groceries, put gas in my car, buy my medicatons, and oh yeah lets not even talk about paying bills. I had to borrow money just to buy a gallon of milk. If something is not done soon, things will only get worse. I have spent many months searching for a job with no results and only one interview and to this day, there is still NOTHING. My unemployment is my ONLY source of income, so pleeease don't think of us as dollar signs that add to the deficiet, we are human beings, Americans. If I could have one wish, it would be for all those in Washington to live in the "real world" on a minimum wage income and see how well they survive, then to be laid off, and then have all they have left to live on CUT OFF!!!

  45. It really is a shame that this debate is nothing more than 'you give me this and i'll give you my vote on that' while unemployed people everywhere are losing homes, cars, etc and are finding it hard to provide for their families. Many in the Senate cannot relate to being in an unemployed situation, yet we never consider this when we are voting. We rather use the criteria of looks, degrees, and promises to elect these people. What happen to experiences in life. At some, having to suffer? Have any of these Senators ever been homeless or hungry? Probably not or this issue would not have gone this long. I also understand that we need to start thinking about how these extentions will be paid for. Sen. Thume had several suggestions but it seemed to help many for a long term, but the unemployed only until Novembers end. I'm optimistic about the country's future but do we really think we'll all have jobs at the end of the next 6 mos? Or will we again be back hoping for another extention in the mist of the winter holidays? Perhaps... but hopefully we will have learned something from this experience and will not make the same mistake on Election Day.

They keep stalling because they don't really care about us because we are not in their league. We have a right to that money because it was our taxes that funded the EUC08 fund in the first place. I have been looking for another job for about a year and its very hard because of the sheer numbers of other people applying for the same job. 54. First, individuals don't pay into unemployment, the employers do. That is part of the misconception the unemployed have. They say "I have paid my taxes, I am entitled/owed/have a right to this money". In fact, you are wrong on many levels, but for this discussion let us say that you do NOT pay into the unemployment insurance, the employers do.

Now then, there are MANY programs and organizations set up to aid the unemployed. Go to your local office where you signed up for unemployment. WIA, TEA, TAA, several Vet programs, school assistance, and many others are there. Yes, you must meet certain parameters to qualify, but the bulk of the people on this board sound like they will.

And coming from someone that was unemployed, just like you are right now, there is no entitlement to this. It is hard to find work, sure, but it can be done. Excuses and bad attitudes won't find you a job.

All the luck to each of you in locating employment as soon as you can.

  55. Dear Mr. President,
I've been actively looking for a job only to be told that I'm TO OLD TO WORK AND TO YOUNG TO RETIRE. Please Help and sign an executive oder to extend the unemployment so we the people can just have a roof over our heads and food on our table if anyone thinks that unemployment pays for anything else they're sadly mistaken. The previous president did it to save his family and some of his partners in crime millions with the bail out of AGI now is your chance to save the people who has to pay that bill and has contributed to the unemployment insurance for 10-30 yrs and were made to pay that tax without due process and had to like it for there was nothing we could do about it. Bush mother had a heart problems when she learned that all of her money that was tied up in AGI investment's were gone and he did not hesitate to sign that into law to save their/friends in the senate monies, so step up for the people who helped the dem. to make history and HELP THE PEOPLE NOW. SIGN THE EXECUTIVE ORDER FOR THE PEOPLE. THE PEOPLE KNOW THAT THE DEFICIT IS OUT OF ORDER AND THEY ALSO KNOW IS BECAUSE OF THE REPUBLICIANS PREVIOUS SPENDING THAT IT'S A MESS. WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS THAT HAVE PAID INTO THE SYSTEM FOR YEARS AND KNOW THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO PLAY HARD BALL BECAUSE OF SOMETHING THEY WANT AND TO TRY TO MAKE YOU LOOK BAD. GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO LAUGH/CRY ABOUT AND SIGN THE EXECUTIVE ORDER FOR THE UNEMPLOYED. I ACTUALLY WORKED FROM JANURARY 2009-MAY 2009 AND THEN WAS LAID OFF BY MY EMPLOYER AND WHEN I RE-APPLIED FOR UNEMPLOYMENT IN MAY THEY TOLD ME THAT I WAS IN-ELIGBLE DUE TO THE FACT THAT I DID NOT WORK THE LAST SIX MONTHS OF THE YEAR. WHY AM I IN-ELIGIBLE I DID WORK THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR AND HAD UNEMPLOYMENT DEDUCTED FROM MY CHECK? 58. FROM AN UNEMPLOYED AMERICAN WHO LOST HOPE IN THE FIGHT FOR AN UNEMPLOYMENT EXTENSION:
I don't see how the President could circumvent Congress on the unemployment extension issue. Of course, if by a miracle another Tier is added, the people who were cut off benefits because of the 'extension deadline' expiration and who are not able to collect on their REMAINING TIERS should ALSO be able to profit from what the 99ers would accomplish.
But all this is SO FAR FETCHED. The president would certaily NOT want to interfere in Congressional decisions, even in a pressing situation such as this one.
The bottom line is this: Congress will not pass anything because of 'politics as usual.' They see the unemployed as bums on the street left for dead, and they do not see the unemployed as woth saving.
As an unemployed American, I am frustrated, disapointed, and scared at what I am faced with. Yesterday: 2 interviews and no offers. Today so far, one interview and no offer. After I complete writing this statement, it's off to the job search again.
For individuals in the Senate to say that the unemployed should simply go out and find a job is ignorant and rude. I can say this much, I'm out there pounding the pavement looking for a job. And altough Congress doesn't want to acknowledge me as a potential contributing member of society and the economy, I still have hope that someone will hire me. It is just DISCONCERTING that our government wants to leave us for DEAD.

  59. This is all going to roll up hill. We won't be able to pay our rent. Now our landlord will be late on her mortgage. Her husband is unemployed too (in his late 40's). We'll be out on the street with no deposit for a new place because she will have to sell the place. We already lost our own house last year. Looking at the ages on these postings, I am seeing a lot of folks in their late 40's and early 50's not working still. I don't think the problem is drugs here... Can you say rampant age discrimination??? My hubby is 48, w/20 years in the tech industry; had great reviews and won productivity awards. Since he was laid off, he has sent out over 1000 of resumes out for jobs that pay 1/3 of what he was making before his company laid him off (due to an acquisition). I resent the implication that those not working are slackers. I fear that 13 more weeks will not make any difference for middle age people. Oh yes, thank you IRS and FTB for the added stress of taxing us for pulling our IRA's to survive. We have exhausted our retirement funds and now will not be able to build them up again because we will be paying you! God Bless us all!

But, with the current lack of skilled jobs available I am becoming pennies from the streets. It's a shame unemployment and peoples financial security is becoming nothing more than a political game for politicians for elections.

  63. I have worked my entire life. Now that I lost my job, they have promised me unemployment benefits ONLY to take them away. How are we supposed to survive? I am going tomorrow to apply for food stamps. I have put it off, but now that Im in Tier 5 and they have pulled the plug on me...I cant even afford to eat. So think about it...its going to cost 1 way or another! If you dont help people with unemployment benefits, the crime rate is going to skyrocket, morw homeless people will come out of this and its NOT going to help stimulate our economy at all. Come on!!! Wake up!!! I thought America is the land of the free and the home of the brave???? HELP OUR OWN PEOPLE!!! Give BACK their unemployment(Tier 5).Give it until November. At least that will give a little more time. PLEASE!! HELP US!!!

  64. I have been tracking this bill since the beginning and I am tired of the delay it has taken. Constantly, the Senate has agreed that the extension is needed, but when it comes down to voting for it, it gets caught up in who is paying for what. Want to drug test me??? Go ahead! Want to see who I applied for and interviewed with??? Go ahead! Fact remains I am going to be on the streets next month if the unemployment extension is not passed.

  65. And hell yes we are entitled! Our economy is screwed because of the war (Bush II), NAFTA (Clinton) and lack of regulation & oversight (Reagan). Our government's actions took the jobs and income right out of our lives, and it's time for them to do what is necessary to bring them back, no matter how radical or unpopular that might be. I fear they are under the misconception that people fear the deficit -- that swell of public opinion is NOTHING compared to what is getting ready to happen to our country with millions and millions of unemployed suddenly losing benefits. Just wait and see. You thought our economy was already bad, lol...

  66. I am a 61 year old woman being laid off like the rest of the 99er's and today at 6:30am happened to look at the MA unemployment web site learning my EB is being pulled this Sunday 6/26/10. I just started it 3 weeks ago as there is no "Tier 5". I will also lose my medical as that was from the state as well. I sent emails this am to Senator's Brown and Kerry, Gov. Patrick and Pres. Obama, Congress and Nancy Pelosi who struck her gavel saying NO TIER 5 WOULD PASS THE CONGRESS? correct am I? I like so many have worked most of my life raised a family now grandchildren and with my age being a deterent along with living on Cape Cod the tourist spot with no industry in the beginning of the tourist season with plenty of college students available at a lesser hourly wage I am and have been doomed. I do not know what I am going to do. No money coming in no money to go out for any sort of bills and I know I am not alone along with no healthcare or dental. I do not know what is the matter with the people we elect as they are to support us their constituants aren't they? Are they suppost to worry as Sen. Bunning said about more debt to his grandchildren? Wait a minute, I have 2 wonderful grandchildren but extension is a drop in the bucket and debt will go on for as long as I am alive. I have always been proud to be an American, paying taxes, voting supporting our President pledging alegience to our FLAG, in school, in church, on Memorial day, Fourth of July, Veteran's day - my Dad a WWII vet and my oldest Brother Korea. My Great Grandfather in the Civil War and on my Mother's side my heritage can be traced on the manifest of the Mayflower "Bangs" so I feel I am a tride and true american just like all of you and its not that I am ungrateful to this country. I just poor joe public like yourselves happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and bingo here we are, unemployed, homeless, no insurance, depressed, defeated and no where to turn not even our own countrymen........What has happened here? Is it all for me now and greed? Am I missing something? I think so. I need help........I am asking for help and not getting any nor being heard.

Are we THAT stupid? YES, FOR LETTING THOSE IN THE U.S.CONGRESS GET AWAY WITH LETTING THIS HAPPEN YEAR AFTER YEAR!!!!!

    1. $11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year by state governments.

    3. $2.5 Billion dollars a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens.
    4. $12 Billion dollars a year is spent on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally and they cannot speak a word of English!
    5. $17 Billion dollars a year is spent for education for the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies.
    6. $3 Million Dollars a DAY is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens
    7. 30% percent of all Federal Prison inmates are illegal aliens.
    8. $90 Billion Dollars a year is spent on illegal aliens for Welfare & social services by the American taxpayers..
    9. $200 Billion dollars a year in suppressed American wages are caused by the illegal aliens.
    10. The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the US ..

  81. Three Presidents did it, yet we never hear about it???
I FIND THIS TO BE VERY INTERESTING.

I WONDER WHY IT IS NEVER BROUGHT UP.

What did Hoover, Truman, and Eisenhower have in common?

Here is something that should be of great interest for you to pass around.
I didn't know of this until it was pointed out to me.

Back during The Great Depression, President Herbert Hoover ordered the
deportation of ALL illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American
    citizens that desperately needed work..

Harry Truman deported over two million Illegal's after WWII to create jobs
    for returning veterans.

And then again in 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower deported 13 million
Mexican Nationals! The program was called 'Operation Wetback'. It was
done so WWII and Korean Veterans would have a better chance at jobs.
It took 2 Years, but they deported them!

Now... if they could deport the illegal's back then - they could sure do it today.

lf you have doubts about the veracity of this information, enter Operation
Wetback into your favorite search engine and confirm it for yourself.

    Reminder:

Don't forget to pay your taxes...
12 million Illegal Aliens are depending on you!

How can one senator say that we all need drug testing, I am a very hard and honest working individual seeking employment. If they all feel that we need testing let's have ALL congressmen, senators and any legal offices get drug testing at random as well. It would not matter to me if I am drug tested but it search would be a waste of our taxpayer's money. People in the economy are hurting bad enough for the senator to even say this is bad. Take away our unemployment benefits and you effect the economy more. People will not be able to pay bills, people will loose their houses and fall behind in their bills. We have mouths to feed and a roof over our heads, Lets not take this from the hard and honest working individuals.

These two things will give us some real insight into what our "representatives" are up to and where their loyalties really lie.

So quit with the bush bashing hahahah he is gone retards. OH and before I forget.. get used to the idea of loosing everything cause I already have. And I'm sleeping in my car. ReplyDelete
  106. Lets face it: The unemployed LOST the fight!
The unemployed lost already; I too am unemployed and am suffering from being cut off from my benefits due to an expiration of the extension deadline.
But who is going to unite: no one. Who will fight, no one. Phone calls to Senators are useless. Too many other pressing issues dominate the news, not the unemployed. The bottom line is this: The Republicans put up some fight and got what they wanted, it’s all about a HIDDEN AGENDA: to go against the Democrats and Obama; ‘politics as usual’ has dominated the Senate. And the VICTIMS: us, the unemployed. They will not pass this bill; lets face it, blame it on the Republicans; but also blame it on the Democrats for not getting the job done. The Democrats failed; and failed us. And do they actually care, of course not; it’s a job, it’s not personal to them; only to us.
So, with that said, lets congratulate the Republicans for their hard work and success in preventing the unemployed from receiving their extensions.

  115. Anonymous, Unemployment is part of FICA- It is under FICA- The Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA) requires most employers and employees to pay taxes to support the federal social security program. The present social secuity program has three principal parts: 1. the old-age, surivivors, and disability insurance program, 2, the federal unemployemnt insurance program, and 3, the federal health insurance program for the aged (medicare). Other deductions required by Law- in a number of states and some cities also require employers to withhold any state and/or city income taxes. In a few states, unemployment taxes and/or diability and sickness taxes must be deducted from an employee's pay. This is why so many people are confused probably and this is why the funds are probably not there. Government has IOU in the SS that they used to pay other bills. This is why people are saying SS does not work because they do not want to tell you they spent your money to pay Government Bills and have not payed-it back, but want to switch the program so you think it did not work. It would work if the money had not been borrowed. Also there are FUTA just for employers tax -usually four or more employees etc. And State Unemployment Compensation Tax vary from among the states.

    ReplyDelete
  116. People need to check the facts first. Employees DO NOT pay unemployment insurance. Your employer pays unemployment insurance to the state. This money never comes from YOUR paycheck. The FEUC is funded by the Federal Gov. While on basic unemployment you are drawing from the employers account that they paid into. This money is not deducted from anyone's paycheck. Unemployment is funded by the employers and currently all extensions are being funded federally. (on money we (America) does not have). When does it stop?

standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the

But for this alledged 'march'..., not one word, txt, phot, nothing but more links to generate revenue and clicks.

  121. Everyone PALEEEEEASSE!! Go to change.org and sign as many petitions for unemployment as you can. These are really going into government mailboxes; I have had responses from offices already today. We have to at least try. If everyone on here goes and signs; then even passes the petition on to others think about how we can pound these government offices with emails. One petition has 29,000 people that signed and had a website raise money for it to be walked into the House of reps...... Please everyone GO TO CHANGE.ORG

BTW-- another great resource with TONS of info is unemployed-friends.com

Its not rocket science were just getting ripped off…
You want to fix the country get these banks under control. The reason America is going under is because Joe average worker is paying out most of his money to the banks. Our banking system is a hold over from the British Empire days. It cost the average consumer twice for the loan what it cost for what ever he or she is borrowing the money for. A $100,000.00 loan for house will cost about $300,000.00 by the end of term of the loan. That’s ridiculous ..if our own government was to make the loan to us the people on say a $100,000.00 and made the cost of that loan say $50,000.00 in interest over thirty years than our own government would be making the money instead of the privately owned banks in interest which would fill the coffers in no time. Instead of the banks ripping us off for most of the money we make we the consumer could afford to buy the other things that help make the world go round. That would put lots of people back to work. Like I said it’s not rocket science were just getting ripped off… Hell the banks don’t even hire Americans to collect their bounty from us … they hire them folks in India.

  123. Vote ALL of these people out. Both Republicans and Democrats. Lets take a good look at this. The Republicans will cover us in Debt for a war we don't want. Democrats will push for amnesty with complete disregard for the fact we don't have enough jobs to sustain legal Americans as it is. I am sick of both party's and their self serving lies. Vote ALL of them out. It's time for REAL change. I'm doing my part. I will vote Independent across the board from here on out. You can bet I'll not only be voting against Juan McCain, I'll be pushing all my Republican friends to follow suit.

how can we afford to pay HR 4213 we will go broke and the dollar will become worthless if the fed keeps printing money "

All of you people need to understand something… THE MONETARY SYSTEM AND WHAT MONEY IS.

All money is debt, and all of it is created out of thin air with no backing whatsoever by 13 banking dynasty families. The governments of the world borrow it from the bankers with your tax slavery as collateral. Oh you thought social security was a retirement plan? No, no, no. You are a slave, and an international bank owns you, and the value of your life, the value of your expected lifetime tax income, can be looked upon upon securities market using your social security number. You are cattle, and your masters are in the business of human farming. And you all slave around your whole life and do a rat race for the imaginary worthless money they create, or you suffer and starve to death without it.

The best thing you people can do is buy guns and ammo. It’s almost time to take our country, and the world, back from the evil men who really run the planet. And trust me, no body voted these people in. They have funded both side in every major war or conflict in the last few centuries. And as just as momma Rothchild said, if her boys didn’t want wars, there would be no wars.

And if you think it is going to get better, you are wrong. What are experiencing is the very beginning of technological unemployment. Corporations don’t need as many humans any more when they have computer automation and robotics. The solution to the problem is to topple the cartels that really run the world, and you can take their power away by removing every single career politician there is from your government. At least then it will take the bankers a few years to pay off, extort, and frame all the politicians again.

We should be in an era of renaissance, enjoying the fruits of our modern conveniences and technology, and innovating everything in our lives, elevating our consciousnesses experiencing ascension of sorts, not experiencing a lower quality of life than those who came before us. As long as the goal of business is to generate profit and usury is not a crime against humanity, nothing will change.

Time to stop using money. Set up collectives of people with varies skills and needed products, barter. Stop paying taxes, and hold your ground if they come for you. Need to have the attitude that it is better to have died on your feet as a free man than to have lived on your knees as a slave, unless of course you concede that you are a slave, then by all means keep being a slave and don’t complain when the masters put you in the street. In general The People need to starve the obese beasts known as governments until they die from their own mass suffocating themselves… Governments have killed more people and cause more suffering than anything. You do the math who the enemy of humanity is. Bankers and the governments they operate.

  136. Dear US Senate,

My first question is how well is your math skills? I see that it was stated 431,000 jobs have been created out of those 411,000 were temporary census positions!!! There are 15.0 million people unemployed and 6.8 million have been unemployed for more than 27 weeks, where are they to work? There are not enough jobs out there! People are starving and living on the streets now because you and your fellow constituents are finally worried about deficit spending, why can we not help the fellow American but we send aid all over the world and we can't take care of our own.

We are in a crisis situation here there are approximately 643,000 Americans homeless currently with up 1.5 using an emergency shelter or transitional housing, and with the denial of the unemployment bill there could be an additional 15 million in the same tragic circumstance in the very near future. Do you care or worry about the children of these 15 million people? With that being said the actual number of future starving and homeless will have at least doubled and possibly tripled once we add the children in the equation.

There are not enough shelters in our country to house these individuals or food pantries to feed them. Are you and your fellow constituents alright in knowing this do you all have no souls? Also, just wait and see life in American as we once knew has changed and once all the long term unemployed lose their benefits you all will see the scary aftermath that has become our country.

I guarantee crime will at least triple as well as violent crimes and murders, people will not care they will do what is in their instincts to survive may it be rob, kill, or steal no one will be safe anymore. People will have a no care attitude their thinking will be way out the box they will have the mentality that if they commit a crime and go to jail they will have shelter and three meals a day something they can not get currently.

Then what will happen when the jails and prisons run over and can no longer house additional inmates, I will tell you what will happen pure and utter chaos in every state, city, and town in America. There are only 13,492 FBI special agents, 800,000 law enforcement officers; there are approximately 1,421,668 in all of the armed forces. How are they going to keep us safe when 15 million are fighting to eat and have shelter? There are approximately 22 million people in Iraq not too far off from the amount of people we will have here with no means to support themselves!!

Also, may I ask where is the 7 billion a month come from to keep our troops in Iraq, also where is the 9 billion dollars that is unaccounted for in Iraq, or the 10 billion that has been mismanaged or wasted there, or where does the $390,000 a year come from to deploy just one solider in Iraq? Or how can our country afford to give Haiti a 100 million or more, or 779 million to Sudan, or 684 million to Egypt, or 327 million to Uganda, or 592 million to Ethiopia and the list goes on yet we can not help on own? Also employers across the U.S. pay into unemployment where are these countries paying into us, yet we freely hand them our tax dollars?

    (read next post as well)

  137. this is bull crap!! how can they stop people's unemployment benefits and this is a way to survive!!this World is in recession! it was better when Bush ran it non of this shit went on everyone recieved what they wanted! I saw a build board just the other day asking "U miss me yet?'' with president bush on it.. and i just shook my head because i was like hell yeah.. this world is in a mess!!

    ReplyDelete
  138. I want answers to these questions but I am sure you can not give one can you? Also, how many of the 15 million of the unemployed will be in line to receive public aid, food stamps, or shelter/public housing? And how are those programs funded with tax dollars? At least some of the monies are recuperated from employers for unemployment benefits something that can not be said for the monies spent on war or given to other countries.

I am so passionate about this because yes I am 1 of the 15 million and I have experience I hold a degree in accounting and I am still seeking employment and have been since February 2009. I have submitted at the minimum of 75 resumes a week and not just in my own city but across the U.S praying to get something I have had 5 interviews and at all 5 I have been told I am 1 in 10-20 they picked to interview and at least 200 people have applied for that 1 position. Do you not see this as a crisis situation?

I am praying that this country that we all fought and worked for so much is not about to crumble before all of our eyes. I do believe very soon we will all be shocked and devastated when we see how our country has fallen to a level of despair we may never come back from. Although, we hear nightly on the news the recession is over and things are getting better well lets see what happens when the unemployment dollars are no longer circulating in the economy and more houses go foreclosed, more car repo’s, credit cards and bank loans unpaid. Then everyone will see it’s not a recession we are in it’s a depression and I do believe it will be worse than the Great Depression because if we crumble most of the world will follow.

Last but not least for every dollar spent on employment 1.63 dollars is infused back into the economy, does that happen with food stamps, monies given to war, or to other countries, I do not believe so. We all will see what happens when those dollars are no longer being circulated back into the economy mark my final word the stock market and the world will crash soon!! Thanks to all the senator's out there that finally worry about deficit spending after shelling countless of billions to other countries, war, and big businesses (i.e.: banks, car makers, and such) but no we can not help the people!!!!!!

Don't they realize that there are not enough jobs out there to get us of Unemployment. Coming out of a recession takes time, normally 2-5 years before you can see any progress. Didn't the pay attention in their Economy classes in college. Come on quit the bullshit and get this thing passed, do you want us to get on welfare.....that is not going to solve anything because the government will paying for it one way or another.

  145. The 99ers need the extension passed asap. President Obama may need to give an executive order to make sure it comes through for the many American tax paying unemployed.

If the extension is passed, many businesses will thrive and the community will become more economically stable. The benefit funds will recycle back into our economy, and claimants as well as local businesses will continue to operate.

We got bills to pay... TODAY! Please help us!

    Thanks,

And it is not a matter of race. I don't care who you are or where you are from if you are not legal, how do you deserve better and fair wages when you are not a citizen and don't pay taxes!! But citizens out of work cannot get aid. System is messed up. Again; doesn't matter about race, or country; you can be an illegal canadian and it still makes me mad. I wish the government would get concerned about it's own citizens. Change.org--------sign them; whether they help or not it is better than doing nothing.

This is BS! I hope theres an executive order soon, Im on the verge of being homeless. These republicans shouldnt be in office if all they care about is themselves.

  150. The Rep. did not mind giving tax breaks to the wealthy and spending trillions on war. "Middle Class"? What "Middle Class"? Is it wrong to want a job that pays a decent living wage and health benefits, and maybe a few weeks vacation a year. Decent paying manufacturing jobs that built the middle class are gone and truth be told they are never coming back! The jobs were shipped overseas where people will work for very little. How can we compete with that. There are approximately 5 applicants for every job! That means there are not enough jobs, let alone decent paying jobs, for everyone. The middle class is being eroded and replaced by the working poor. The republicans don't care about the working poor or the destruction of the middle class, destruction that began during the Reagan years with the first huge tax breaks for the wealthy. But I suppose what is done is done. It needs to be fixed now! We need effective legislation to create jobs that pay living wages and healthcare for all and the continutation of unemployment benefits through 2010 for the millions of unemployed. My situation, unemployed this past year for the first time in my life at the age of 52, went back to school for a year at a local college (had to take a loan, did not qualify for grant money)trained as an administrative medical asst., only to find out I spent money to train for a job that will probably only pay me 10 to 11 dollars an hour when the last job paid me over 16 an hour! Most of the jobs posted are for part time and per diem jobs! The big health system here is laying off again and has a hiring freeze because the state had to cut funding for education and healthcare! I will keep looking! From what I have seen over the past decade all I can say is that hell is going to be crowded.

    ReplyDelete
  151. I have been unemployed for almost 3 years now by no fault of my own. I have sent out hundreds of resumes and rarely do I even receive a reply for any of them. This tells me that the employers that are advertising these positions must be buried in resumes as there are so many unemployed. Clearly the recession is unprecedented in its length and is not over. The notion that anybody WANTS to be unemployed is Republican propaganda. The Senate Republicans are up to their usual Obstruction of any legislation that would benefit the unemployed. We will remember them in November at the polls. They should get some experience at being unemployed.
President Obama should use his Executive power to extend benefits. I really think this is his chance to DO something about the situation. There is no reason to trust that Republicans will give up anything. They like playing petty political games at the expense of
    the powerless.

  152. I think surely a great number of people have signed petitions, e-mailed and called the congress and White House, called talk shows. (what few were interested in the subject)
It disgusts me to think of all the things congress funds, yet can't find a way to agree on extending benefits. I've noticed it's been put off until after a holiday more than once. It's cruel to leave people in limbo. There should be a way for people to know far enough in advance if there are to be no more benefits coming, so they can make arrangements to move in with family, talk to creditors, etc.
I hate to think the only way to show how desperate some are is for someone to pour gas on themselves and light a match. Maybe marches and sit-ins would do it. God help America.I really don't think most in DC care about us.
    no more benefits coming

  153. Where: Washington DC Mall
    When: July 2nd –
Time: You will be notified of an exact time to converge on the mall. Please do not do so before this time.
What to Bring: Tent, water, lawn chair, talents and skills list, notepads, pens, clothes, pillows, deodorant
Why: To put a face on the unemployed and for our very survival.

Without assistance we will lose our homes. Without assistance we will not be able to feed ourselves nor our families. Without assistance we will no longer be able to continue our job search. The time has come to stop begging for help but instead to demand it. It is not our fault we lost our jobs nor is it our fault that we cannot find new ones.

It is time to unite as one and put a face on the unemployed. It is time to unite as one and show our leaders that we will not just die off quietly and alone. If we are to die, we will die together for the world to see.

My brothers and sisters, within our ranks there is a collective talent unlike the world has ever known. Within our ranks there is a will to live and pursue happiness. We must unite, while we are still able, if we are to have a chance.

On July 2nd, gather your belongings and join us on the national mall in Washington DC. Bring tents and plenty of water because there we will stay until our leaders start to have compassion for the people of this great nation. Please bring with you a list of your talents and skills as well as a copy of your resume. The lists will be used to organize our collective abilities – the resumes will be used as fuel for a bonfire.

Together we can forge our own futures and mold our own destinies. Together we can and will form the greatest resource this world has ever known and our first headquarters will be located on the mall in DC.

Our government will witness, on their front lawn, our collective suffering as well as our will to survive. Our tents will symbolize the loss of our homes. Our bonfire of resumes will symbolize the lack of jobs. We will be fed and if we are not, we will die of hunger together for the world to see.

If by July 2nd our government has failed to show us compassion, unemployment assistance will not be enough. We will also demand housing, office space and grant money to fund our movement. We will create our own jobs if none exist. Make no mistake, no one will go hungry and no one will leave until they have either created their own job or found one elsewhere. Together we can and will define our own futures while putting a face on the unemployed.

Now you must help spread the word of this event anyway you can. We must unite if we are to survive and the time to do it is NOW! Individuals are needed to help lead this movement. Send an email to lols01@aol.com to become one of those leaders.

Our ranks will surely grow as time goes on but initially we must be strong in numbers for this to work. The first ones on the mall will be the ones that make the biggest difference as well as the ones this nation will never forget. Email lols01@aol.com and say that you are willing to answer the call to be one of the first. Please provide your first name and a cell phone number if you still have one.

The fireworks will begin early this year in DC if our leaders fail to act!

    -Leader of Lost Souls
