The path to citizenship would be conditional, and would take six years. The basis behind the bill is that it will fix a "social injustice" of people who have been raised in the country, but are not from here- but in essence really have no where to call home.
Opponents of the bill claim that adding citizenship at a time like this would further burden our social services system. Supporters claim that it's "The right thing to do" and that the educated citizens will help America grow and flourish.
The DREAM Act 2010 would also create another loophole to be exploited with those with bad intentions. However, in order to qualify for citizen ship under this provision, you would have to be in the United States for five years.
Are you in support or opposition of the DREAM Act 2010
The Dream Act is a slap in the face to American citizens who are expected to pay for their own children's college education. Illegal aliens already have the right to attend college, this bill grants financial aid to illegal aliens and job prospects when American citizens are broke and many are unemployed.
ReplyDeleteDo not be fooled, the Dream Act is amnesty, without enforcement, that is written so that all illegal aliens qualify directly or indirectly through family members. Passage of this bill will cost 2.6 trillion dollars and increase unemployment to 20 - 30%. Now President Obama is another best friend to illegal aliens. Where are the friends of US citizens?
The dream act does not in any way give these kids any type of financial aid. Please don't post comments without knowing what your talking about. Besides financial aid is funded with sale taxes. How is it amnesty? It's no handout these kids need to earn their citizenship.
ReplyDeleteThanks have a nice day!

LAST CHANCE TO STOP ANOTHER AMNESTY--THE DREAM ACT
ReplyDeleteSecond to the taxpayers spending issue of welfare for illegal aliens and instant citizenship to babies of foreign nationals that intentionally break our sovereign laws, is the repressive Revenue taxing chaos. I heard Ron Wyden, a Democrat on C-Span lame Duck session of Congress on how to overhaul the tax code for individuals and corporations; making it simpler and to lower the rates but cover more income. It’s logical that jobs wouldn't be spirited overseas if the tax code was fair to everybody, and not an easy mark for the special interest groups to corrupt our politicians by keeping loopholes open for the wealthy. Wyden’s' main emphasis is imposing three tax rates - 15 percent, 25 percent and 35 percent with a limited number of deductions. On mortgages, for example, they would remove the deduction for second homes and allow only the first $500,000 of a mortgage to get a tax break.
Our country is in financial turmoil, because of the huge "tax and spend" Liberal movement of telling the people, we are here to subsidize your every need, as long as you vote for us; Illegal or not? Yes! It’s the illegal immigration issue that has finally become highlighted and emanating as public anger and a growing concern that the government failure to reduce it impact; that a large group of politicians, governors, judges are catering to these people, rather than the majority of the population. It’s another hundred billion dollar deficit that should be stopped immediately and foreign nationals grandfathered out of the country using enforcement of tools like E-Verify, newly customized. Costly yes! But in the long run it will save us trillions of dollars in cash payments and public services that are strained. Prior to inception of the entitlement system in America, there was little attraction for illegal workers and their families. Today--Poverty is threatening America’s stability, that in these economic times, we cannot afford our own families needs; yet we are given taxpayers money to promote good will in other countries.
Nowadays people who are desperate and penniless are pouring across our leaky border, or on one-way-tickets jet liners to this sovereign country. Illegal aliens already know with fraudulent ID they can access our welfare and social services before they even arrive. Europe has already overrun with economic nationals, whose main objective is to collect welfare or free health care treatments. If we enforce our immigration laws, we can cut the US deficit at the federal and even State levels. We should listen to the insight of prominent non-profit organizations as the Heritage Foundation, which claims another Amnesty such as the Dream Act, will further cripple our national deficit. Hundreds of thousands of students as green card holders can sponsor their immediate family. Those newly sponsored once processed, can bring in their family and the chain of immigrants continuous.on and on...? Robert Rector of the Heritage has determined that this Dream Act Amnesty, along with the expenditures of Chain migration will increase our debt by another 2.6 Trillion dollars.
ReplyDeleteOutside of this another 113 billion dollars is calculable by illegal alien families yearly, through instant citizenship through the 14th Amendment for babies. Much of this money is accountable, by funding to Sanctuary Cities; haven for illegal aliens, gangs and other criminal elements. Taxpayer money should not be giving federal funds to places of so-called Sanctuary Cities and even States, such as California as this is a travesty to our immigration laws. Not fully understanding the tax laws myself, accept paying my families fair share, but realize that the Autistic code has thousands of loopholes for the well-to-do, but gives no-quarter to the general public who end up being audited. Of course simplifying the tax code would mean unemployment. Google the truth that the Liberal press deny or lie about at NumbersUSA and conclude this battle to stop any form of Amnesty, by contacting your Senate or Representative at (202)224-3121 today.
You are wrong. The senate bill S.3827 gives states the right to offer in-state tuition and state-based financial aid. The states have been doing this anyway but it has been against the law. The senate bill also gives work-study and federally insured student loans. That would be a new benefit. Many universities also hike tuition to cover financial aid. Universities give admission preference to students from poor and uneducated families, so you figure it out. States and universities also cover full tuition to those below a certain income level. In Los Angeles, CA, where I live, 50% of babies are born to illegal immigrant mothers. If these trends increase, as they will if the Dream Act passes, who will pay for all these future college students? I teach at a university, and no, the Hispanics are not necessarily the best students. The Asians and Middle Easterners are the best, at least in the sciences, which is what I teach. European Americans are intermediate, and are now in the minority in Los Angeles. Certainly Hispanic immigrants, even those who are illegal deserve a chance, but it is unfair for any group of people to illegitimately enter a county in such high numbers straining budgets to the breaking point. Only limits will reduce further illegal immigration. Californians voted for Proposition 187 in 1994 to limit benefits to illegal immigrants and it was knocked down by the Federal government who promised to reduce illegal immigration in their own way. California now has a 20 billion dollars deficit. How will it afford higher education for millions more illegal aliens?
ReplyDeletecan you please please give me some kind of source where the S.3827 gives financial aid to "illegals"??
ReplyDeleteMost if not all types of government aid needs a REAL social security #, educational funds come from sale taxes and EVERYONE pays those. Illegals also pay taxes (tin) tax identification number. Not all of them get paid under the table so taxes are being paid and yet they cant benefit from them talk about getting robbed. I have students who are "illegal" and dont get financial aid and both their parent pay taxes. The government helps "illegals" for a reason they help the economy more than destroy it, its not like all the bigots try to make it seem. Getting off topic here this is about young kids who want to help themselves by getting an education and helping this country. And i dont know why you bringing up that Hispanics are not your smartest students this affects every ethnicity. Your Asian and middle eastern students will also benefit from this bill.
Thanks have a nice day!

C'mon guys. Don't punish these kids for something their parents did. It's not their fault. Show a little mercy. Support the dream act!
ReplyDeleteDREAM ACT is coming up !! God is with us!!!
ReplyDeleteamen!
ReplyDeletePass the Dream ACT
ReplyDeleteand please, those people who bullshit
Talking about stuff they have no clue about or just saying ignorant things please shut the fuck up
Seems like a good proposal. They must prove good moral character and serve the military or attend a university for 2 years, then get in line for 6 yrs before becoming getting a permanent green card. 5 yrs later they would be able to apply for citizenship. that means that it would take more than 11 yrs before they are eligible to apply for citizenship. Must I remind everyone that when they apply for citizenship, they must pass 3 tests and criminal background. Only then they would become citizens.
ReplyDeleteI believe that if an individual is willing to do all this to be in this country, he/she has earned the right to become an American.
For all the ignorant and racist assholes I am an illegal immigrant! Who was brought here as a child I am a senior in high school and have worked hard to mantain honors and be a good person. Ignorant fucks like you dont understand that i dont have the same rights to a higher education, job, license don't understand because you have your heads so high up in your asses . My family pays taxes work multiple jobs and we keep to ourselves all we want to do is have a comfortable life. I hope one day people in America realize this. It frustrates me because in a country where I was taught that people are fair and just I feel like I am being punished for my parents effort to avoid poverty and corruption from our country hopefully your ancestors never had to face the same shit when they left because of the potato famineor Germany during ww2 . Reading these comments make me sick but motivated to fight for my rights as a human being
ReplyDeleteIllegals are thieves. They get ahead on the backs of the American taxpayer. If we pass the DREAM act there will be millions more coming here to steal from the taxpayer.
ReplyDeleteTaxpayers were forced to support the children of the thieves thru high school by the court. The taxpayers are saying we have done enough. Let the DREAMERS who are so exceptional return to their own country and make it wonderful.
I came here at age 6,was undocumented because my Visa expired, and because of an amnesty law i was given the opportunity to achieve my goals.
ReplyDeleteNext year, I will be going to our nation's top MEDICAL SCHOOL and be YOUR future doctor.
SUPPORT THE DREAM ACT!
I was brought here when I was 4 years old. I attended elementary school and high school. I then attended a junior college and was able to transfer to a 4 year university. Life is tough, I am paying everything out of my own pocket. I rent a room and live on my own. I sometimes don't have enough to eat because I rather save that money for my textbooks. All I ask is the opportunity to go to school like everyone else. I am a Finance major and in a pathway to attend Law School. Those of you who speak against the Dream Act state we will receive financial aid and will be taking away money from those who were born here. Fact is, we will not be receiving financial aid. The money that we receive will be through FEDERAL LOANS. Meaning we have to pay them back. I have nothing wrong with the idea of receiving a loan because I plan to pay everything back. I do not want to receive free money (sure its a benefit and privilege anyone would have) but if the only way I can graduate college is by paying back the loans that I receive, then by all means I will do it. I have also payed taxes and all the money that I've placed into the social security will never be seen by me. All i ask if for an opportunity. You say I should go back to my country of birth, but I say to you...WHAT country? All i know is how to live as an American. Being American is all I know. I love this country, I respect it, and I thank God I was placed here by my parents because I cannot think of a better place to live. That is why I want to repay this country for the opportunities that ti can give me. I ask you not to indulge in your ignorance, but open your minds to the idea that those who benefit from the Dream Act will help this country and will not take it for granted.
ReplyDeleteThese kids are stuck in the system through no fault of there own. Many of them have spent more time in the U.S. then they have in the country they were born in. Most of them only know the U.S. as their home. They've gone to school here and college and have been upstanding members of our community. Don't punish them for the mistakes of their parents. Give these people the chance to move forward with their lives here in the country they know and love.
