The Bush tax cuts expire at the end of 2010, and therefore taxes during the 2011 year will drastically increase across the board. The Democrats want to extend the cuts, but only for families above $250,000. The Republicans want ALL taxes increased, even for the wealthiest Americans.
However, the unemployment extension takes precedent - or at least it should. Consider this: couldn't Congress pass the extension, and then fund them using Bush Tax cut expirations for wealthy Americans? Of course, this is all too logical and that leads one to believe that it won't be part of a bipartisan compromise.
In the midst of the holiday season, millions of Americans are losing their unemployment benefits. This is not a good thing. Will the unemployment extension 2010 be situated by the end of the year? What about the Bush Tax Cuts?
It would appear that a large portion of the unemployed hate the "rich" and believe that money is the root of evil, if that is the case why are they so desperately clamoring for it?
ReplyDeleteHere is a great quote from Rush Limbaugh:
ReplyDelete"If people cannot even feed and clothe themselves, should they be allowed to vote? If people who are receiving taxpayer assistance weren't allowed to vote, can you imagine the difference in the political makeup of this country?"
Idiot!
ReplyDeleteI agree with taking away the right to vote for individuals receiving taxpayers assistance as long as idiots are deprived of their freedom of speech. STFU!
ReplyDeleteIdiots!
ReplyDeleteOMG ... I am so living it up on unemployment checks! I want the unemployment benefits extended forever! I mean .. come on ... working is so overrated! I just party all day and all night with that fat check that pays for every single bill! Woohooo! Thank you to all that have jobs and are upset that I am using up your tax money! I am not even going to mention how I paid taxes all of my life but it ain't nothin compared to all of this cash :) I AM BANKING! I LOVE BRAGGING ABOUT MY UNEMPLOYMENT WEALTH! To all of you idiots out there who think that the unemployed are lazy: Unemployment checks only HELP pay for essential needs .. it is nothing to brag about!
ReplyDeleteUnemployed does not indicate a subclass of citizen. Have some compassion for your fellow man ya douche.
ReplyDeleteKO
The mob will have no problem feeding and clothing themselves once they are finished stomping Limbaugh's head and looting his murdered family.
ReplyDeleteMay the worst things imaginable happen to all the ignorant hillbilly Republicans! May they all have to face what we "The American Working Class" are facing without the small unemployment checks that only get us some basic food and gas to look for the jobs that are not available due to how that moron coke sniffing Bush (The worst President EVER) messed up this country by putting us in this situation.. May these Republican idiots have: No Jobs, No Homes, No food to feed their children...and NO HOPE! Karma will get you and your families as many are praying for your demise!.
ReplyDeleteI have always prided myself on working hard. I could always find a job work two jobs whatever it takes. Until now. I am scared. Being single is not as easy as you think. Today’s world is harder than ever. I woke up today and realized my total worth is Zero. I have zero assets. Why? Well I always worked but the jobs didn’t pay very much and the cost of living kept going up so I always lived check to check. Having no one to assist I couldn’t even pay for school and had to give up in order to put a roof over my head and clothes on my back and food on my table. Now in my forties, I have nothing to show for all my hard work except my little apartment and few personal possession’s that would be worthless to anyone but me. I was born and raised in the U.S.A. And my government is failing me because I am not part of the elite. I am a person who lives to work. That’s all I do. That’s all I have ever done. Until now. Maybe if I was more ambitious I could have been a contender. I could dream bigger better. I was always hoping that I could start saving but they never give large bonuses to someone like myself they never give a big raise much less a word of encouragement. Still I smile and put my best foot forward. Try to help people when I can and live the best I can. America, where are our jobs? Where is the land of opportunity? This is still a great country but my heart breaks when I have to read how our government is not doing the job we elected them to do. I don’t care if you are republican or democrat or whatever. Just do the job you were elected to do. you are supposed to help the American people. This is not about your own personal agenda this is about helping this country. America has given money to other countries when they needed help. Where is that money? I am sure I don’t know everything but then again who does. I just want to be able to keep my apartment, pay my bills, put food on my table, finish school get my degree and find a job and maybe save a little so I can live out my golden years in peace. Is that really too much to ask for? I know things could be worse and there is always someone who is worse off than I but I honestly don’t know what more I can do if I don’t have a job to go to. Although unemployment doesn’t pay much I was grateful that I was able to pay my rent and keep warm and dry. Without the extension I am terrified of what’s to become of me. In the mean time I will keep hoping and praying and working hard. God Bless America!
ReplyDeleteI once heard a very smart man say that the working class in this country are truly the last true philanthropists this country has because we give of our time so willingly for so little in return. I spent 35 years of my life working and never asking for help from the unemployment office and now that I am 45 and have been replaced at my job by someone who speaks better spanish than my caucasion heritage will allow me to I hear people talking like I am the root cause of all the problems this country is experiencing, a leach, a bum. The truth is that if you are white, middle class, male, and middle aged, in this country, you're SCREWED; but you want to hear the ironic part? I still Love my country, I am a patriot; oh well, I've been camping before; I just never dreamed it would be a permanant aspect of my life. My extended benefits are now gone, my truck is gone, my home is gone, and soon my wife and I will be gone too.
ReplyDeleteIf Rush Limbaugh wants to exclude those on welfare from voting then I say he should also exclude anyone who has not received at least an associates degree. We need more educated voters. And the bonus for America if such legislation would pass is not only would Rush Limbaugh not be permitted to vote neither would 99.9% of the Tea Party.
ReplyDeleteAnd for those of you who somehow have it in your mind that unemployment is an entitlement program (for you tea baggers that means money you have not earned) it isn't. Unemployment tax paid by both the employer and the employee and comes to about 12.4% of ones annual income. Taking an average of my income over the 22 years I have been paying into the system with out a single claim then figuring just the unemployment tax on that amount alone comes out to about $85,000 total that I and my employer have paid into the system. Even after two years at my current unemployment payout I will not have received even half of it.
The lesson to learn from this is to stop listening to the talking heads of the Conservatives. They couldn't buy a clue with all of the money paid into unemployment by the hard working citizens of America.
We "The United States Of America" are the first to send billions to other countries in their times of need but when it comes to our own, as KY Republican Senator Jim Bunning stated when begged to support the unemployment extension and the starving unemployed, he replied "The Hell With Them".
ReplyDeletePlaying politics with the lives of the millions of hard working unemployed American Working class is not only wrong, but should be illegal. Those who block the extension while pushing for tax cuts for the greedy rich, should be held accountable for every American man, women and child who have or will die in the streets of America from exposure and starvation. This is a very sad situation. Perhaps we should seek help for our unemployed homeless from other countries. Tell these countries that our rich need more money from a tax break, therefore we can no longer take care of the homeless unemployed working class!
Happy Holidays to the rich but not for the unemployed!
Here I sit taking a shit and counting the money I made this weekend. You Amigos could easily be doing the same. Work for yourselves and the hell with this Rush bastard, does it really matter who you vote for anyway, just a waste of time.
ReplyDeleteIm forty now and am a "99er" .... if the rich feed the economy then where are the jobs?? people are cold hungry and scared and they are talking about TAX CUTS?? Americans will not take this anymore! Correct me if Im wrong but isnt this how revolutions are started?? at least thats what I read in the history books... To my fellow unemployed.. warm wishes and best of luck to you all....
