Florida Governor Race 2010

Florida Governor Race 2010 - During the 2010 mid-term elections, a record 37 governor's seats are up for election. Perhaps one of the most watched races is the race between Alex Sink and Rick Scott.

Early exit polls had Rick Scott leading over Alex Sink, and she's not conceding. Perhaps her most crushing blow to her race was when she took a text from an aide during a debate. This rubbed voters the wrong way and in such a close race you can't help but wonder if it, to some extent, affected the overall vote.

The Senate seat in Florida went to GOP candidate Marco Rubio, in a three way race against Crist and Meek.

Rick Scott is likely the next Republican governor of Florida. However, Sink is still holding on in hopes that perhaps the South Florida counties of Broward, Dade, and Miami will sway the vote in her favor, but so far that doesn't look likely.

Florida Election Results 2010

Florida election results 2010. The Florida senate race has been called, and the Florida election results 2010 indicates that Marco Rubio will head to the Senate to represent Florida as a Republican. He beat Kendrick Meek and Charlie Crist for the bid, and it's likely mainly because Meek refused to back out of the race despite being asked by Bill Clinton, who later endorsed him.

Amendment 4 was turned down. This would change the way that developments are made. It would have required voter support to change city plans for developments, which could have shied developers away from projects in the Sunshine state.

Rick Scott appears to have won over Alex Sink...but the race hasn't been called yet. Sink isn't throwing the towel in ... at least not yet.

We will keep you up to date with Florida Election Results 2010.

Alex Sink Controversy

Alex Sink Controversy.  Did Alex Sink cheat during the Florida gubernatorial debate, and will the "textgate" benefit her opponent, Rick Scott?   During a debate, Sinks makeup artist walked over to her and showed her a text message.  The message was a note from Sink's staffer, and Sink said she never solicited the message.  The staffer has since been fired.

Alex Sink also said that she thought that the text message was from a family member.  However, supporters of Scott indicate that if you listen carefully, the makeup artist does identify the text as from her campaign.  Basically, Rick Scott is accusing Alex Sink of cheating AND lying about it.

Pretty heavy stuff, huh? What do you think of the Alex Sink controversy?
