Lindsay Lohan was sentenced yesterday, and a judge ordered Lohan to serve 90 days in jail then 90 days in a drug and alcohol rehab program. Lindsay violated her parole by not attending drug and alcohol counseling as ordered following a 2007 drunk driving conviction where she plea bargained.The trainwreck that is Lindsay Lohan will likely benefit from the sentence. After all, she's had one meltdown after another, and she could use some time to think.
Lindsay has had an extremely tumultuous relationship with her father, and he's several times requested that the court make his daughter attend a drug and alcohol program.
He was present at his daughter's sentencing but wasn't given the opportunity to speak. The judge did accept a letter from him.
How did the actress react to the news? She cried her eyes out - much like any other young woman would have done. Lindsay isn't hardcore, she's just a troubled individual who has made some mistakes.
Just because LiLo is sentenced to 90 days in jail doesn't mean that's how long she will stay put. She could get out early for good behavior. However, the drug and alcohol program will be a solid 90 days no matter how good she acts.
Lindsay claims she did the best she could, but she still skipped multiple drug and alcohol counseling sessions. Any average person would have likely been given the same treatment that Lindsay received today - or worse.
