An Unemployment Extension Tier 5 99ers Arguments after Glenn Beck Rally

An unemployment extension of Tier 5 for the 99ers is an important political issue, but is one that seems to have been largely ignored.  Arguments for the unemployment extension and Tier 5 benefits for 99ers can be found right in the very fibers of Glenn Beck’s rally in Washington DC this past weekend.

How can it be, you ask? Well, the purpose of the rally was to bring the US back to the values and honor experienced by our forefathers. Over the past couple hundred years or so, there have been a lot of things we have forgotten.

Helping our fellow Americans appears to be one of them.

In a day and age where we dole out money to sleazy Wall Street Bankers, corrupt foreign governments, and more – we can’t seem to find the money in our coffers to help our fellow Americans.

Restoring honor to the United States means lending a helping hand. It means helping those who are in need right now, knowing that when we are down, they will be there to pick us up.  As a nation, we are faltering and it’s because we tend to tear each other down in times of need.

So please, do whatever you can to ensure that an unemployment extension … a true Tier 5 for the 99ers is passed, and soon.

  1. Using Glenn Beck's name the the rally to draw attention to Tier 5? lol.

Good try, good try.... Next time you can write an article mentioning Paris Hilton's cocaine arrest and tier 5.

    Jesus...

They also lost that America and its money should be used for helping America First. Seems with all the needs we have right here in America the concern be about where do we get billions we send to help other countries not Americans. When did it become a Congress that feels people of other countries go ahead of Americans when money is tight. This congress better learn what America first means in helping Americans before other countries. If not vote them out so we can have a Congress that puts this country first.

  3. I would think if you have a rally everyone should support this. How else can we make a point. People who have a job every day will not
support us for a tier5 if they do not know about this. We the american people have a right to make this rally a point. As for supporting other countries I hate this. We need to take care of U.S.A and it's own people. WE NEED HELP
GIVE US THE MONEY. PUT THIS COUNTRY OF OURS FIRST.

  4. It is so sad to see the basic values that or country is based on evaporate right beneath our eyes. We need more rallies other wise the average American will have no idea about the Teir 5.

  5. Why don't you unemployeed people realize what I finally did. Your high paying jobs are gone for who knows how long. I myself was making $24/hr.
and worked for the same company 25 years then they moved overseas. So I am going to choke it up and get myself one of the $9-$12/hr. jobs.
There are a LOT of those jobs available so if you truely want to work I suggest you take what you can get and forget what you use to make cause that pay aint coming back no time soon.

  7. Tier V is very necessary for us Americans to survive!!!

  8. Tier v is a win win situation for the unemployed it provide assistance and for the employer it provides tax cuts.

  9. Gringo, you say there are a lot of $9-12 an hour jobs? WHERE? In our area you cant even find those and you cant afford to drive to the next town for $9-12 an hour or you will pay out more than you make in gas! JOB is the #1 priority next to getting a tier 5 for those people out of unemployment. Tier 5 would get them through the winter or you will see a HUGE hike in the welfare rolls, todays news report that in Michigan there are 50% more people on food stamps then in the second half of 2009! HELP THE 99ERS SOON!

Ponder this thought! We all know that one day there is going to be another world war and the "WINNER" will need to have the technology and strategic locations. If the US keeps giving money, jobs and visa's to other countries in order to gain...(lets call it real estate) to install defense and offense systems our chances are better. The price is in numbers not humans.
The Government high archy already has an underground bunker for them and their families to live when it all comes down and the 99ers just happen to be the sacraficial lambs...
Think about it... The writeing is on the wall!

  11. The 99ers are already the scraficial lambs they've sacrificed their homes, some have given thier children to family members because they couldnt take care of them, some have taken their own lives from depression caused by the depression! So we already know we're the lambs and they just arent telling everyone how many lambs have been sacrificed and exactly how they were put on the scewer! Its all in the reporting or rather the nonreporting.

  13. Tier 5 will be passed after the political wranglings are done with it,the bill will
be passed after they put the two together
with the jobs bill ! They are going to get
approved hand in hand, the political aspects
are to strong to ignor it, or think it will
just go away. The thought of people with out
the extension in winter will be more than the
current political heads could handle. They would
commit political suicide. They really don't care but they do care about public opinion. Look
for the bill to be passed by Late October !

  14. In reference to Bernie's comment, that makes a lot of sence in the scheme of things. It's depressing though but I wouldn't put it past a bunch of rich folks that have lost touch with main street amaerica.

  15. Reviewing my past before I was a 99er, George W was the President and I had a boat, motorcycle, tent trailer and a small pickup to pull it. I made a livable salary with OK Benefits. I worked for my employer for almost 10 years. I was in the IT field and the economy was strong.
When the banks failed we lost our retirement accounts, my company relocated most of its assests to India. (By the way anything that is conputer related can happen anywhere in the world). The years of schooling and experience gone to a third world country. I'm not crying because I still have a boat to catch catfish from dusk till dawn, I have a shot gun a rifle.
    I've lost everything else. I really miss George W these day's. Obama+real change= 99ers. What's wrong with this picture?

  16. The COBRA subsidy was not extended and therefore is leaving the unemployed not able to pay the full price. COBRA itself needs to be extended past 18 months, as it has been like that since it was started. Additionally the subsidy needs to be extended otherwise there is no alternative than to go on Medicaid.
This problem must br addressed as millions are not coming off the susidy of COBRA, but no one is talking about it.

  17. Please stop blaming Obama for all the problems that Bush 1 & 2 as well as Clinton created! Believe me I am not a fan any of these greedy bastards but put the blame where it belongs!
I'm so tired of the blame game...politics as usual while we the unemployed suffer!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Anonymous talking about Georgie boy, you have CLINTON to thank for all that, you're good ol' bush boy is the one to thank for all your losses, not obama, america took a dump BEFORE obama was even president, so how is it all obamas fault? or are you one of those people who simply forget everything that has happened before a few weeks ago, and continue to vote for the same group of idiots that start the messes to begin with...Reagan - fat mess, bush 1 - fatter mess, Clinton - cleaned up the messes, bush 2 - master destroyer...that has to paint a picture for you!

  19. lets borrow more money from China, and send it to Haiti, and Pakistan. Instead of helping our OWN people,at no fault of thier own Millions of americans are losing everything they have worked for all thier lives. These are proud men and women that have worked, and paid unemployment taxes all thier lives.

  20. Please all remember that some of the people posting are actually from the office of the politicians. They come on these sites, acting like 99ers, and bash the unemployed. Saying that they have no problem finding jobs if they wanted one, that the economy is not so bad, 99ers are lazy etc. The fact is both parties are to blame and don't care, they just want to be reelected so they can continue raking in millions for themselves and their families.

Funny how you "JUST" only described your living conditions/life durring Bush W compared to Obama and now someone is defending Obama! Its like his mommy speaking for him cause he cant defend himself.
That is called "tunnel vision" and it makes me laugh! Do you get extra points for defending Obama? Why not defend Paris Hilton? Neither one gives a rats booger about you. Please post your photo so we can see you.

  22. Saying that they have no problem finding jobs if they wanted one, that the economy is not so bad, 99ers are lazy etc.

They can say it all they want to. Math stills provers that wrong. There just are not even close to enough jobs to make big dent in total unemployed and 99ers numbers have to grow for that reason.

I sure wish Congress and much of the so called experts could do math. They really need to stop the bs. There are not enough jobs no matter what people to to find jobs. I know recruiter who have all told me employers don't want to hire unemployed or people over 50. How they will wait as long as it takes for them to find the perfect person for any open positions thay have. That is per recruiters adding 9 months or more to normal time employer takes to hire someone. Congress just does not live in the real world and ignores the facts.

    ReplyDelete
  23. People learn history. Dems had control of congress 60 of last 70 yrs. When they controlled Congress for 50 years up to 1994 they created deficit spending. Ever since we had out of control spending and national debt. Until they stop throwing billions away on defense and pork and other countries Americans will suffer. They don't even get cold war ended in 1990's and should have closed all the bases in Europe. We waste 100s of billions every year we don't need to spend. We don't use all our money to help America. Instead we give it to other countries instead of ours. It has to stop.

  24. If no one remembers it was glen beck who said he would be ashamed to call most of the unemployed, americans.and the goverment has been sending jobs out of the U.S since the 80"s It is true I do believe they will pass a tier 5. agree with winter coming the states will not be able to carry the extra costs of help for the need for heat and the food banks are slim. the retail industry will slow because lack of people being able to afford the bare supports.I do think that the president and staff saw this coming down the line with the push for increase for min wage and the new health care system. most jobs are part time and are not required to give benefits. the ones who do have jobs now best keep one eye on the door for a pink slip if they do nothing at all to get money into the system. I am a 99er not a loser and no benefits anymore.been looking for work for two years. hard for a women over 50. and in a state with over 10% unemployment like ohio. thank you

  25. The Bernie comment, however hopefully not our future now rests in the back of my mind.
America is changing and for some to win, some have to loose. I'm a 99er but not a looser and todays economic disater only goes to show you how our administration is labling us. We are not just going to roll over and die! At least not me. Nacy Pelosi has let it slip out that there will not be a tier 5. The media hasn't coverd the 99ers now, why would they cover the 99ers in the winter? Thats just wishfull thinking my god! Where is the 99er forum for real thinkers not wishfull ones. There is not going to be a tier 5 and I'm as sad as the rest of you thinking ones. -fellow 99er-

  27. I so hope the 99er's Tier V is passed. I will be receiving my last check this week. I was making a salary of 54K and and am now applying for $10 an hour jobs and still have even gotten an interview. I almost got an interview but the issued a hiring freeze the day of the interview. American's should come first and until more job's are created unemployment should be there for us.

  28. Follow me here 99ers. You as a group have largely rejected capitalism, most of you don't even have the desire to learn about this magnificent system that made the western civilization great. Yet you demand, even with death threats, the benefits of the capitalist system that you hate.

I have a suggestion, since you spit on capitalism you need to live like any indigenous people who had not thought of capitalism. Thats correct...stop using money it is a product of the capitalism you hate. Animal skins and flint knives are the order of the day for your mentality. As you liberals say there is no shame in this way, it is just "different". Learn to make a bow drill and stop whining or you will go back to the days before the wheel was invented.

  29. Listen up american unemployed! There will not be a tier 5 (do the math), It will not happen. I am being optomistic since I became a 99er. I keep reading these hart felt stories but It's not going to happen. Our fearless leaders are not going to give us 20 weeks or any amount of weeks as long as they aren't forced to as long as there is a form of welfare, and it might only be cheese. It pisses me off too but we just can't sit around and pretend it will happen. Wake up, it wont' happen as a tier 5.

All this talk about calling Senators offices is crazy. They have staff to take your complaint calls and letters. What do you think they will do, have a change of heart and vote in favor of us? I think not and they are very comfortable if all we do is call their offices and bitch because that stays behind closed doors and not in front of the general public which they fear most. I am not saying be violent, but until we take our anger to the streets in all the cities and demand something be done, nothing is going to change.

  38. I like the 99er gang idea! They get IV tiers and on the fifth... we put them in a homeless situation like us. They can run but they can't hide! There is enough of us so now we must look for sponsers and supporters! They drew first blood! They took our dignity so lets get it back. Yes, great idea, lets start forming now!

  40. When we look back we see years of hard work, dedication, and a commute that stole 3 hours of our day. Now we're looking at a future in poverty because our jobs are gone, our mortgage is upside down and our savings are being robbed by high-cost health care. At 63 we've been out of work almost 22 months. We still have plenty to offer but cannot find a job. Not even part time. What do older Americans do without unemployment? Live under a bridge?

  41. Support for Israel comes to $1.8 trillion, including special trade advantages, preferential contracts, or aid buried in other accounts. In addition to the financial outlay, U.S. aid to Israel costs some 275,000 American jobs each year." The trade-aid imbalance alone with Israel of between $6-10 billion costs about 125,000 American jobs every year.MOTHER FUCKERS ,THEY GIVE OUR MONEY TO ISRAEL WHILE WE ARE HOMELESS AND HUNGRY !!! 45. I sure hope they pass tier 5 ! I got to eat ! Their sure is going to be alot of rioting this Fall season. Many persons got to eat ! I say "persons" because "the people" are not the voters or the 99ers. "We the People" are them politicians, Walls Street trader (traitors) and them automobile companies that got Union Jobs ...

I sure would like to be part of "We the People" ! "People" get money (and first seats on the lifeboats) but us "persons" get locked in 3rd Class a la Titanic and drown to death ...

It can make a "person" go berzerk !

  46. Gringo:

Do you know that if there are any $9 to $12 an hour jobs out there (which I was working for before being laid off 2 years ago) are now going to the people who made $17-$24 dollars an hour so I am unable to find work because they are getting the jobs that I would normally take. I have even tried getting into stores as a cashier and they won't hire me because I have been working in the office environment for 10 years and the sad part about this is I am a bookkeeper so cashiering is a no brainier.
