2010 Oktoberfest is the 20oth annual event of the beer-loving festival which has Bavarian roots. Of course, there are Oktoberfest celebrations all over the world, but none are quite as exciting as the original event. The history of the festival started over a royal wedding in 1810 between Princess Teresa of Bavaria and Prince Ludwig on October 12, 1812. The country then marked the celebration of the royal wedding with concerts, festivals, and a race. Everything went so well that they decided to have the festival a year later and thus Oktoberfest was born.
These days, Oktoberfest is best known for trying different beer flavors and beer from around the world. However, it's still a fun festival that boasts fun for the whole family.
This year the event starts today, and runs for 17 days in Munich. Around the Globe you will find little festivals here and there. How do you plan on celebrating Oktoberfest 2010?
