Bill O'Reilly On The View 2010

Bill O'Reilly on "The View" heated up a political debate. Whether or not you can believe it, Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg stormed off stage in protest over Bill's comments on the 9/11 mosque. The main hostess of The View, Barbara Walters, disagreed with O'Reilly but did so in a way that was professional and classy.

Perhaps Bill's only flub was saying "listen to me and you might learn something" to Joy Behar, but he said that because she was blabbing in his ear and he couldn't get a word in edgewise.

Basically, the Fox News commentator stood up for his views that Muslims attacked us on 9/11, and that moderate Muslims should join us in our fight against extremists, if they want to be seen separate from them. He pointed out that we don't say that "Japanese extremists" attacked us at Pearl Harbor...they are simply the Japanese that attacked us.

When he quoted a CNN poll that says something like 70% Of Americans don't want the Ground Zero mosque to be placed in its proposed location, that is when things fell apart.

Bill O'Reilly on The View will be something people talk about for weeks. See a video of Bill O'Reilly discussing the issue below.

  3. Unless Barbara Walters names the show Joy Behar's VIEWPOINT only, the goal of the show is to have these "hostesses" to support their guest's and and intellectual vigor on the show. Bill trumped these fluesies.

  4. If you analyze talk shows, attempt at political discussions are a disaster and need not be taken seriously except for the fact that they are entertainment vehicles about newsworth events. One would look to PBS' "Lehr Report" or Charlie Rose shows to serve as legitimate venues for these kinds of political discussions; but, ratings would suffer in the process. O'Reilly and The View serve their purposes if we put them in their proper perspective.
