Gay Man Deported Because Gay Marriage Not Recognized By US Government!

Gay Man Deported Because Gay Marriage Not Recognized By US Government!  Henry Velandia and Josh Vandiver married in Connecticut in August of this year. Henry Velandia, a salsa dancer and dance instructor who performed with Univision's Mira Quien Baila, and founded HotSalsaHot dance school.

Josh Vandiver is a Harvard graduate who is working towards a PhD in Political Theory from Princeton.  He studied at Oxford as well.

Velandia is slated to be deported, as Federal rules prohibit Vandiver from sponsoring him.  The couple are hoping that Henry will be able to stay in the US until a high court hears a case on the Defense of Marriage Act.  They go before an immigration judge in November of this year.

Do you think that Josh should be able to sponsor Henry? Remember, Gay marriage is legal in Connecticut. Weigh in below!

  1. Same here, HELL YES!
If their marriage is legal by state law it should be respected and honored by the federal government
