NYC 2010 Columbus Day Parade

The 2010 NYC Columbus Day parade details and route are available for the parade, which has already started and is going to continue until 3:30 PM local time.  The parade is a long parade, and gives New Yorkers something to do on Columbus Day.

The Columbus Day parade continues, and you can purchase tickets to win a Maserati featured in the parade. Can you imagine winning a Maserati?

The Columbus Day parade goes on in honor of the courage of
Christopher Columbus, the explorer credited with discovering the American land mass. It also honors Italian Americans and their contributions to exploration and entertainment.

Don’t forget that on Columbus Day, banks and government buildings are closed.  This may be inconvenient, but it’s nice for some workers to have an extended weekend.

If you’re out at the NYC 2010 Columbus Day Parade, let us know how it’s going.

  1. Every year on this day, I’m reminded of the stories that my grandmother used to tell me
of how, some 500 years ago, Columbus and his men proudly landed on the shores of this continent, only to stand in dismay and confusion as the natives they encountered
served them an evening meal of welcome which consisted mainly of Sweedish Meatballs.
