Alaska Election Results 2010: Senate Lisa Murkowski Leads Miller?

Alaska Election Results 2010: Senate Lisa Murkowski Leads Miller? Lisa Murkowski ran as a write-in candidate for the Alaskan Senate seat after losing the GOP nomination to Sarah Palin backed Joe Miller. If you thought that her days in politics were over, you're wrong.

She ran as a write-in and she just might win! Had she stayed out of the race, Joe Miller would likely be headed to Washington despite multiple scandals shrouding his campaign.

This is another key race that the entire country has watched. If Joe Miller loses, some say that this indicates that Sarah Palin isn't as politically important as she might otherwise think herself to be.

We will keep you informed as exit polls are announced This time it appears though as if Lisa Murkowski may keep her job after all, despite losing the primaries.

  1. Pretty opinionated "news" reporting.... Do you work for CBS in Alaska?

  2. Oh please, the other commenter says this was opinionated? Go watch Fox "News" sometime if you think this was opinionated.

  3. The story reads like it was written by the Murkowski campaign. It's a joke.

  4. how in the hell do you know who's name is on the write-in spot. OH never mind, just let it go.

  7. This is GREAT news if it proves to be true! It would be nice if someone proved to Sarah Palin that people are not as stupid as she'd like to believe. I wanted to sign my comment here, but I have to admit, I was afraid to. I know people are not as stupid as she'd like to believe, but she definitely has some whacko supporters who are probably dangerous!

  8. You have to be dumber than a red brick not to know Lisa Murkowski was the write in candidate..watch the commercials and read her signs..hello...

  9. Whoever wrote the "nah, nah, nah" comment is REALLY childish...
    not just childish, REALLY childish

  10. I hope Sarah Palin gets her ass kicked...she thinks she is so much smarter than anyone...her voice reminds me of fingernails scratching a chalkboard

  11. Another sore loser who lost in the primary and wouldn't concede. I wish my daddy was in politics so he could've given me a job where I wouldn't have to make any hard decisions and make almost $200,000 a year plus expenses.

  12. Jealous there mate?

  13. Only 21% of Alaskan's voted in the primary. Thank GOD that Lisa stayed in the race !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to all the Alaskans who did their DUTY and voted today so the Majority was heard. No tea party victory here or in Nevada or Delaware !! They sure spent a lot of $$$$ here though.

  14. Yeah for the home team!

  15. Palin haters suck, so do arrogant politicians like murkowski. Either way she's part of the problem with politics today. She would sell out for power. The republican party should slam the door on the spectors of the party.

  16. And that is your educated opinion..highly educated??

  17. First I'd like to say, if Sarah Palin thinks she is smarter than anyone...she could only be thinking of her own followers. Sarah Palin is a shame to Alaska, and is about as lame as our former President Bush!
I am not a Republican but there is no doubt in my mind that Murkowski is the lesser of the two evils! Lets keep Sarah and the tea party out of ALASKA!

Oh! and by the way... to the fellow that said "Palin haters suck" Palin is a part of the problem, not only is she a disgrace to Alaska, she stepped down as Gov. to go on some book crusade to promote herself in hopes of becoming the Republican candidate for pres. in 2012... so who sells out for power?? I'm pretty sure she has the intrest of herself in mind, and NOT the people of ALASKA, or she would have never stepped down.

  21. It looks as if the USA is truly on the way to Civil War, we cannot keep this up. I think it is time Red and Blue said goodbye to each other. For you Blue States, hey just think of the GREAT nation you would have free from the "Tea Party typs", a "Green' nation and economy, unchecked immigration, no wars, billions in surpluses because of "progressive tax policy; you can sit back and laugh at the ignorant poor Red States...sounds good huh?

  22. Apparently this is a socialist pot-smoking web site where intelligence is a disqualifier.

  23. Sarah Palin hasn't finished any office she has been elected to...even the Mayor of Wasilla...so why would anyone think she could do any good for Alaska or any other State

  24. Really? How many of you have actually met Lisa or sarah? I have met them both and if Lisa wins it will be a sad day for Alaska.

  25. I do have to say, I enjoy the red brick comment. That's a really funny analogy, AND, yes, you have to be pretty dumb not to know who the front-runner for the write-in was for this senate race... but hopefully you DO know that you can "Write-In" anyone you like who is eligible (correct age, prerequisites, etc) on that line? So you don't exactly need a list.... or is this your first day in this country?

  26. What is the point of a primary if you can just write-in? Liza Murcowski (dont worry, it doesnt matter how you spell it) is a shame to alaska.

  27. I am sure everyone knows the write in policy...but Mickey Mouse already has a job

  29. While Joe flooded my mailbox with fliers of him surrounded by his loving family and sporting a scruffy 3-day growth on his face (I mean, do you want a beard or not?)Lisa rang my door bell, shook my hand, introduced herself and fielded all and any questions I had. I have never had a senatorial candidate do that. At that moment she became my gal! She did it all herself, no photo ops of the loving family - the former Prime Minister of the UK once said: "My children are people, not props."

  30. I met Sarah Palin... para- sailin while she was out on the side of the road in wasilla campaigning for Miller where I have lived for a long time now (born and raised in the great state) and she was as dumb as she let on, on the boob tube!
Lisa MURKOWSKI being a write in AFTER LOSING the primary just means that she is no quitter, and thats what Alaska needs! someone who can be knocked down a peg, just to get back up and try even harder... Go MURKOWSKI! That my friend, is a TRUE ALASKAN! =D

  31. The person who wrote about her daddy given her a job, well he did and than she won the next election on her own and she will win this one. So, daddy is not even in the picture so get off it. Miller is not good for Alaska.

  32. To all you Palin haters, it takes a fool to argue with one.

  33. This just goes to show that Alaska wants to move ahead of partisan politics and people who would divide the electorate instead of fighting for Alaska to get things done.
Even in the face of adversity, outside influences and the blame game the winner appears to be someone of great grit, determination and puts Alaska above all else.
It appears the people of Alaska have spoken and one lesson is never quit, no matter what the circumstances.
I am not an Alaska resident but watched this race with great hope that Alaska is a good judge of not only character but of tireless work ethic.

    Sincerely,

    Ted Salame

  34. Speaking as an outsider, you Alaskans need a Football Team to root for and expend some of that anger. You guys are too mean for politics.

  35. does it really matter what happens in alaska anyway? i mean besides polar bears and oil that no one can get to what else do you have? i get all the ice i need from my refrigerator...

  36. Does anyone really think that all those votes are for MurCowski? Really

    ReplyDelete
  37. I had heard that there was a large number of people running as write ins. If this is true, there is no guarantee Murkowski won anything until all these write ins are counted. Just try to keep Acorn out of it.

  38. Thank God that the idiot, and liar, that want to take another state back to the Bush years didn't win. Our economy has to be the first thing on politicians minds. Not defeating some democrates that are already in office. If you got a good idea, run on that. Don't run on just getting rid of someone else. Goodbye Joe!

  39. I came to this site to get facts on the race. All I got was a ridiculously biased article (for example, Palin not as important as she thinks she is). I also saw this board with a huge number of liberals acting like my 8-year old. I can only assume this lack of class is due to the sting of the huge Republican gains.

  40. Bizarre. I end up on this site from a google search seeking to find out what is going on in the Alaska race (I am in the UK) and find a bunch of nutters exchanging insults. No idea why this article seems so contentious; to me it is just an analysis piece (and not very well written).
