Sarah Palin's Alaska: Premiere Ratings at TLC - Sarah Palin's Alaska was going to be a hit - I could tell it from the first time I saw the preview of it.  To think that such a hit profile political figure would allow us a glimpse in to her real life is amazing.  And Alaska? Admit it...everyone's curious about Alaska because, well, it's somewhere that not many of us have gone. 


If you don't like the Sarah Palin aspect of the show, you can at least appreciate the "Alaska" aspect of the show. Sarah Palin's Alaska is a great family friendly Sunday night show. 


The ratings were through the roof as well - nearly 5 million Americans tuned in to Sarah Palin's Alaska premiere at TLC. 


Millions more are likely going to watch it as it re-airs through the coming week. 


If you're looking for a reality show that will come back for several seasons, I wouldn't look for it - this is an 8 part miniseries.  However, given the ratings I wouldn't be completely shocked if Sarah Palin does more reality gigs for the network, but I can't see regular seasons of this show being plausible with her busy schedule.
