Prop 203: Arizona Proposition 203 Medical Marijuana Passes

Prop 203: Arizona Proposition 203 Medical Marijuana Passes. Prop 203 showcased once again that every vote counts. Arizona became the 15th state to legalize medical marijuana, even in the midst of California voters rejecting Prop 19, or the legalization of pot throughout the state, altogether.

Now, citizens of Arizona will be able to purchase up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana for personal use every two weeks, and will be able to grow their own marijuana for medicinal purposes if they live more than 25 miles away from a dispensary.

In addition, there can be 1 dispensary for every 10 pharmacies, ensuring that illicit sales of marijuana are minimized.

In order to get a "presciption" for the drug, someone must have a debilitating disease and get a note from a doctor. Although Prop 203 legalizes medical marijuana in Arizona, pot remains illegal at the federal level.

What are your thoughts on Prop 203's passage.

Report: Wiz Khalifa Arrested For Pot Possession

Report: Wiz Khalifa Arrested For Pot Possession.  Weed-happy Wiz Khalifa didn't get the memo that Prop 19 didn't pass - and even if he did, it wouldn't have helped him out.  Wiz Khalifa was arrested in North Carolina for...pot possession.

Of course, I can't really blame North Carolina authorities for targeting him at a concert.  After all, Khalifa has been boastful of his $10,000 a month pot habit.

The "Waken Baken" tour was halted 45 minutes into the concert. They raided his tour bus and found...pot.

Come on...the dude even has his own line of rolling paper.

This is sort of a good example of why perhaps passing prop 19 would be good.  After all, the pot smoking by Wiz Khalifa poses little threat to society, yet a considerable amount of taxpayer dollars were spent on the raid.  In addition, the money that this guy throws out on weed, don't you think if it was legal he'd be able to be legit, create jobs, and keep money in the US?

I'm just saying.  I know that a rapper like Wiz Khalifa isn't exactly a good poster boy for legal reform. However, the amount of money spent on his apprehension does go to show you that sometimes marijuana related legal issues cost more than they are worth.
