Now, citizens of Arizona will be able to purchase up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana for personal use every two weeks, and will be able to grow their own marijuana for medicinal purposes if they live more than 25 miles away from a dispensary.
In addition, there can be 1 dispensary for every 10 pharmacies, ensuring that illicit sales of marijuana are minimized.
In order to get a "presciption" for the drug, someone must have a debilitating disease and get a note from a doctor. Although Prop 203 legalizes medical marijuana in Arizona, pot remains illegal at the federal level.
What are your thoughts on Prop 203's passage.
Its about time
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Alcohol is far worse and yet it's marketed on TV.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll have to celebrate...
ReplyDeleteI believe if Arizona plays it's cards right, and adjusts the law here and there, they themselves could experience an economy boost brought on due to marijuana sales.
ReplyDeleteThank God! The stupid Mormons and ignorant idiots almost blocked it. Maybe our state has some hope left after all. Eh, never mind, what am I thinking--Jan Brewer won by how much?
ReplyDeleteIt is truly a sad commentary that I have to post as anonymous but I do live in Arizona. It took us long enough didn't it?

ReplyDeleteless dispenseries means more personal growing options which means less cost per patient for their medication! dont open a dispensery!

Cannibus is not a drug.. God put this plant on earth for a purpose..
ReplyDeleteI wish one article would take two sentences to explain that it's not a prescription; it's a medical recommendation. A prescription note is a federal document and doctors who recommend mmj to their patients risk losing their physician's license since marijuana is a Schedule I substance under the Controlled Substances Act. Anyway, way to go AZ!
