[CA] Prop 19 Results [POLL]

Prop 19 results, California's hottest poll, failed. Proposition 19 called for the legalization of marijuana in the state of California, expanding the current legislation from just medicinal purposes to everyone over the age of 21.

The Field poll leading up to the election pegged Prop 19 as a failure, and indeed it did fail. Maybe all of California's potheads forgot to register to vote, or thought that they could telepathically get their votes in to the polls. Who knows. All I know is I can envision a bunch of people with "anxiety disorders" sitting around, partaking in "herbal therapy" watching TV and saying..."Dude, Prop 19 didn't pass...uh...dude, did you vote?"

All that being said, there are some improvements that could be made on prop 19. For instance, they could put the taxation discretion in the hands of the state and not municipalities. In addition, there should be some workout with the Federal Government to ensure that small business owners who own "legal" pot dispensaries in the state won't fall under the increased scrutiny of the federal government.

Prop 19 results are available, and the controversial ballot measure failed. Prop 19 results were expected by the general public to be easy to pass, but the opposition was stronger than the support. Early field polls showed that Prop 19 results would be disappointing to supporters, but I guess in a sense we never saw it coming.

After all, there's a lot of people out there who use marijuana and there's a lot of people who say it's actually less harmful than alcohol. Could marijuana legalization be the end of this generation's prohibition?

The key to legalizing pot - through prop 19 or through any results for that matter - is finding a way to tax it. Figuring out a way for the government to make millions of dollars on its legalization is key to it passing.

So although the 'Prop 19 results' this time was disappointing, the future could end up being bright.

Prop 19 Poll & Results.  Unfortunately, Prop 19 has not passed.  I know.  Prop 19 results were probably negative because all of California's potheads got lost on the way to the poll...or were confused about where they needed to vote...or were just sitting in their homes, smoking the illegal joint hoping that the rest of the state would pass the measure needed to make their illegal drug of choice...legal. 


I'm just joking, of course. Most of the people who partake in some weed don't fit the stereotype of a typical stoner. 


That being said, Prop 19 did bring up some fortunate dialogue about the future of legalizing marijuana.  Perhaps this bit of legislation needs some "tightening up" before it's plausible.  For instance, the legislation as it stands would have given localities the discretion to set their own tax base.  This should be mandated by the state, and should be the same across all municipalities to level the playing field, so to speak.  


In addition, there needs to be some sort of arrangement with the federal government.  Eric Holder vowed to "vigorously pursue" those "legally" selling marijuana in California.

Prop 19 Poll & Status. People in California are awaiting the Prop 19 poll and status, hoping that the medical marijuana measures will pass. The Prop 19 poll does favor the opposition, but there's still a glimmer of hope that the Prop 19 measure will, indeed, pass.

Prop 19 is the legalization of marijuana, which would allow people to have a small portion of the drug for personal consumption. With millions of dollars heading to Mexico in the illegal drug trade, the hope is that the state of California will benefit from a new tax base.

The prop 19 poll isn't favorable, but it opened up a dialogue. Could it be that a drug will become legal in the foreseeable future?

Prop 19 got national attention, although not much money was spent on its campaign. Perhaps that's the reason why the Prop 19 poll & status aren't favorable?
