The election results in the state of Washington show that the incumbent Patty Murray has a slight lead over Dino Rossi, the GOP challenger. This is one of those Senate races that everyone's keeping an eye on as the GOP has narrowed the Democratic majority in the Senate AND has successfully taken over the House of Representatives.
Obama's agenda will be harder to push through the ranks now that the GOP holds the House and has narrowed the lead in the senate. Electing Dino Rossi to represent Washington would further challenge Obama's agenda.

Whatever King County wants, King County gets. It does not matter what the rest of the state wants.
ReplyDeleteMurray never met an illegal immigrant that she didn't like.
ReplyDeleteNot all of us in King County wanted another six years with Murray. :(
ReplyDeleteWashington's election is a perfect example as to how even the slightest manipulation of voting results can tip the balance to the manipulating side. How is it that every time there is evidence (or even rumor) of voter manipulation, intimidation, or theft of ballots, it's always in an area that favors one party. You guess which one always benefits from Acorn/SEIU-style tactics.
ReplyDeleteWell if Rossi is ahead King County will find more ballots to change that!!!! Just like before, at least King County don't mark the ballots like Nevada does for Dirty Harry Read!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's called representative democracy, that's why we have a Senate and a House of Reps. The more people live in urban areas, then they will have more power in statewide elections. Crying "fraud" when your side loses isn't always the answer.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like my beautiful home state of Washington is going to get exactly what it deserves...Patty Murray.
ReplyDeleteEveryone should quit whining , when the ballots are counted it will be decided one way or another. And for all you lower income folks , quit carrying the water for the candidates that plan on drowning you. That would be Dino! He , along with most republicans , could care less for the lower and middle classes. Wake up people they work for the wealthy!
ReplyDeleteNot one candidate of all elected or not elected, cares a jot for the middle class.
ReplyDeleteGet a flea collar Dino!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Republican election in Louisiana was a fraud. The ballot was designed to confuse the voters. The Republican senator was put at the top of the ballot, with the Democratic nominee was put near the bollom of a list of about 8 nuisance candidates. Also electronic votes for the Democrat did not register part of the time: electronic tampering with the new Republican programed fraud borrowed from Ohio. Whay did this happen? The Sec of State who designed the ballot was a Republican (see recent election frauds as in FLorida 2000) In addition, the spurious attacks on the honorable and civic minded ACORN detroyed that champion of the poor and minorities, since Republicans seem to want to eliinate the oppressed and little guys & girls from organizing in elections. This shows us that Many Republicans are demogogues who wish to cut taxes for the very rich and put the tax burden on us average or poor citizens, and deny us essential government services like education and medicine. The Republican msjority has promised to continue to obsruct needed governmental reforms and now they can do it: nothing will be done for unemployment, fiscal reform or cutting the Bush deficits. Our weconomy and huge debts are part of the Republican program since 2001, and they try to blame Democrats. The weaken our democratic system and depress the influence of the huge majority of citizens. Those who benefit will be the lobbies, banks and corporations

With the strangle hold the Dems have on the voting "process" in WA, Rossi is doomed to loose another hand re-count. Welcome to the People's Republic of Washington :(
ReplyDeleteIf Rossi "looses" again, I'm ready to become a part of Idaho. As a life-time resident, I'm tired and embarrassed by the west sides liberal bullying.
ReplyDeleteI guess in a perfect world only republican votes would count. I thought the whining about Rossi loosing the governors race was over! I'm so thankful we have King County!!!
ReplyDeleteI watched with horror as the republicans trashed my country over the last 10 years, felt hope when
ReplyDeletethey were defeated 2 years ago, and am watching with disgust and resignation at this midterm election. It's like watching a child keep hitting itself in the face over and over. The average American must be mentally challenged, and have no long term memory. I am of independent means and am not affected by the economy, health care etc. etc. and care for the less advantaged Americans out of compassion, wishing them a good life. I no longer feel this will be possible for the future, and the irony is that the very people who will be the most affected, and indeed who will be crushed are the very people that put the Republicans ahead of their own interests out of ignorance. It will not affect me personally, for as America sinks lower and lower in world stature, opportunity and all other things I will sadly slip away to other parts of the planet. I write this comment only to express my sadness as I watch my country of 60 years slowly die of ignorance. I mean no insult to anyone, so please do not be offended,
the results of your actions will be your greatest regrets in the years to come.
Keep putting the same people back. We will keep
ReplyDeletegetting the same results. No one should be in any
office for more than 7yrs. Change of leadership brings
fresh idea's, fresh out of the people working.
Ballots mailed on Tuesday should all be there today, so count them and let's hear the will of the people. Honestly, such sour grapes and conspiracy theories from people who have neither won or lost yet. It is really disheartening that you think either candidate would have to cheat to win...I voted for Murray, I don't live in King CO. and HOPE she will carry the election. Rossi should learn to take NO for an answer....he's a serial candidate....kinda creepy.
ReplyDeleteDear Anon ... The lower income and middle income folks that you say Rossi would sink... Those are the typical swing votes for Democrats, and they do all they can do to placate them, yet keep them lower income. What you subsidize you encourage. On the other hand, Rossi wants to help businesses grow. That's where jobs come from. From healthy businesses. I know because the current B.Frank orchestrated financial crisis (don't believe that? in 2003 he fought the Republican administration which wanted tighter financial controls. It even on video on you-tube!), that financial crisis killed my consulting business and put me 50K in debt because I paid my employees and creditors taking debt on personally. Obviously not the only cause of the crisis, but look to Jimmy C. who deregulated the banks, and JFK who encouraged overseas business development through deferred taxes. All these came from the Dems, get blamed on the Republicans. Pelosi. 5 years Speaker. All budget bills start in the House. 5 trillion in deficit spending. Under democratic control. Larger lower income and unemployed resulted. Bigger traditional base of democratic voters who want something for nothing from the government. Help those who can't help themselves sure. Help the rest get a job.
