The governor's race is one of the ones that the entire nation has their eye on. There have been several GOP turnovers in gubernatorial races in the nation.
One such race that had a GOP turnover was South Carolina, where Nikki Haley, the Tea Party backed candidate, replaced scandalous governor Mark Sanford.
However, Oregon did not experience a GOP turnover. John Kitzhaber the Democratic candidate won the seat, as the Portland area tipped the scale in his favor. It was the closest governor's race in the history of Oregon.
I donn't really care whoever the governor will be as long as he is a democrat.
ReplyDeleteSad when one small area dominates the will of people across virtually the entire rest of the state.
ReplyDeleteKitzhaber already messed this state once, don't understand why one small area of this state wants him back.
ReplyDeleteDamn, just when I thought we were going to get those high-paid waitresses under control.
ReplyDeleteIt's by population folks - the majority of the number of people live in the valley section. That's called democracy...do you want Portland, Salem & Eugene to each just get one vote & Mehama, Burns & Brothers - each get one vote? Oh Yeah, that makes good sense. Grow up.
ReplyDeleteI agree with democracy, however when the people in Multnomah County tend to vote about something that doesnt even effect them, or they are uneducated about. This makes Oregon as a whole vote like Multnomah County, when in all actuality Multnomah County doesnt have any business in the measure. Kitzhaber is a has been and we should have learned our lesson after he screwed up the state the first time. Pull your head out and realize he isnt going to help anything, tying government and private business is foolish and will only lead to more economic turmoil in the future.
ReplyDeleteTired of the west side of the state voting like a bunch of idiots. They have no clue how it affects the rural communities , and for that matter don't care. I believe the state should be split and let the west side live with their idiotic way of voting in all the tree hugging dumbasses.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad, but maybe another 4 years will convince those who have been so willingly deceived, that we need more than just a change in names every 4 years; we need a real change in people. This Ted and John switch off is getting old.
ReplyDeleteMoney belongs in the hands of those who earned it, and if they want to be charitable with it, let them be. Government social programs are compulsive giving, translation: stealing from those who work to fund causes, but not giving them the option. Government's place is not to give money away, that's my choice thank you.
And no, I'm not rich, I make less than 20k yearly, but its mine as much as Bill Gates billions is his. And guess what, he is giving his away, on his own, you don't have to take it away.
Some folks seem to think there is no rural community west of the cascades, and that all rural folks are conservative voters. Fortunately, they're wrong. The Governor's office is not the place to learn how government runs. Dudley has no business trying to be CEO of anything, let alone the State House. Good that most of us think so.
ReplyDeleteIf people are dumb enough to put Katslobber back in they are probably dumb enough to re-elect Obama. Woe are we...
ReplyDeleteWell if Dudley has no business in office, Katslobber sure hasn't proven his self in the past at running this state. He was a failure, and will be one again this round.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, Dudley is the better choice according you because why?!? Is it his experience as a public servant (he has none - his only job has been a basketball player)? Is it because corporations have donated more money to him, hoping to make it back in political favors when he is governer? Or do you like his stated policies of spending more to improve services, yet collecting less in taxes?
ReplyDeleteSecondly, The central valley of Oregon is voting in its own interests, just like the rural communities. If voting for what benefits yourself is idiotic, then everyone is an idiot, including you.
No you are the idiot.
