Glenn Beck: NAACP Racist, Tea Party Not Racist

Conservative Fox News correspondent Glenn Beck has fired back at the NAACP's claims that the tea party is racist.  Beck states that it is the NAACP or National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, not the Tea Party Movement.

The NAACP came together and formed a resolution indicating that they would stand against the racist motives of the Tea Party, claiming that they are trying to bring America back to its pre-Civil War state.  They later backed down, softening their stance and urging Tea Party leaders not to allow bigotry in its ranks.

Beck points out that the Tea Party movement isn't about race - it's about Americans wanting a change.  He invited the NAACP to come forward and identify any leaders of the movement that may be racist.  Racism is something that Beck wants settled once and for all.

Of course both movements have a lot of controversy surrounding them. The NAACP grew upset with the other movement when the Healthcare reform bill was making its way through the ranks of Capital Hill.  The organization claims that they were deeply offended by some of the racial slurs that were hurled at African American legislators and signs that were carried around mocking Obama.

The two could do a lot of good if they worked together.  The race card shouldn't be played in any organization - especially those that are poised to help America make positive changes.

  1. Health care (transformation) is one of the best issues this current administration has done thus far. With this change individuals will have the opportunity to seek professional and quality health care services. Who would want to return to the days of the horse and buggy, b/w tv sets, manual typewriters, pac man, you get the point? That's about how old the health care system was in the USA. Each day the news is filled with social tragedies in which lives are taken at the hands of known acquaintences and/or family members. Our society is stricken with the institutions of white collar crime permeating throughout this great nation and greed which tends to strike at the very fabric of our country. If you are looking for affordable health insurance check out http://bit.ly/chE6zp . I hope everyone will soon recognize and use the resources made by this transformation to seek professional medical attention as the need arises rather than turning to illegal and criminal activities to resolve their issues.

  3. The smear tactics used against the Tea Party are classic. Despite the offer of a reward to prove racial slurs were used towards African American legislators and a myriad of videos that must have been taken, the accusations have remained just that. No proof has surfaced because there isn't any.

The NAACP IS racist. Just listen to what they say. Their accusations against the Tea Party are without merit. How ridiculous to argue that the Tea Party doesn't want a black president. Why would anyone think that? Who has SAID that? The Tea Party tenets are clear and simple and have nothing to do with race. Playing the race card has got to stop, but its the best card the progressives have to play. If those accused of racism deny they are racist, it is said they're just in denial or lying. If they admit it, its "I told you so!" Its a great way to deflect away from the positive things trying to be accomplished by the Tea Party and others working against big government. Hopefully the media will begin revealing the tactic for what it is, an unfounded smear.

  4. Excuse me, but this administration has done NOTHING positive for this country. Healthcare "reform" is a socialist powergrab, with mandates (or, YOU HAVE TO's) that rob us of our constitutional rights. It will result in rationed healthcare, and at a much LOWER QUALITY.

NOTE: An organization that exists to forward opportunities to a specific race, now that would be racist...

  5. I'd suggest the first commentor actually read the bill. Good luck with that one, as it's over 2500 pages. In fact, just READING it would put this poster way up on all those who actually signed it, as no one read the whole thing - much less had any real understanding of what all it does. For the first free clue, google "actuary tables". Combine this with the, perhaps, unintended consequence of just ONE part of this bill, which is "no lifetime limit", and "no annual limit", and the new rules on "pre-existing conditions". You have to understand what this does to the actuary tables (destroys them, bascially), and by doing so, the price of YOUR health insurance policy will go up. There is no escaping this.

In this end, this new law will raise the price of health care, and added a huge new entitlement program which we can ill afford. And this is just the, perhaps, unintended consequences of a couple of parts within this bill. There's no telling how many more unintended consequences we'll see once the full 2500 pages comes home to roost.

  7. Any time the government promises to give the people something for "free", remember two things: 1) all the government's money comes from us in the way of taxes; its NOT free. 2) What a private citizen can do for $100.00, the government will probably spend $1,000.00. Do we really want more of that?

  8. The Tea Party is racist. Ask anyone who has been to a rally, they shout for the president to go back to Africa.

  9. As someone who has attended several tea parties, I NEVER heard or saw ANY racist posters, comments, chants. And I live in a very conservative Southern state. Sure, there were posters that made the claim "Obama is a socialist" or "We the people, not we the Government". Please explain how that is racist.

Do we need to revisit the vile and violent posters with George Bush burning in hell, or actually burning a stuffed dummy with Pres. Bush written on him. But they were just exercising their freedom of speech right?

Pulling the race card is a political game played by liberals to take conservatives away from debating the facts, and become defensive. The country is still struggling with race issues, but to put it into a debate where it doesn't belong only diminishes the importance of it when there actually IS racism. Are there racists in the Tea Party? YES! Are there racists in the Republican party? YES! Are there racists in the democrat party? YES! Because they are made of imperfect people, but it doesn't mean that the party or movement as an organization is racist.

  10. Yeah, just because it is an all-white group doesn't mean that they are racists. Just like NAACP being all-black doesn't mean they are racist

  11. Wow...

Smaller Government, less spending, and most importantly to protect the freedoms and rights of ALL citizens as laid out in the Constitution of the USA.

    NO more, no less

  12. The tea party is not racist. To say so displays such ignorance... their goals are stated and clear. It has been incredibly difficult (even with lame editing tricks) to bring forth one shred of evidence to show the public otherwise. To find a racist in a crowd is not hard, it is irrelevant where you look. I don't care if we are looking at a large group of Catholic Priests, one could be a racist. Does that make the Catholic church a racist group? No. To say so, like I said, would display incredible (even impressive) ignorance.

  13. i know some tea party people personally who are clearly racist but wont admit it and call you a racist if you call them on it. the way that tea partyers and teaparty sympathizers foolishly deny stuff like this in public instead of cleaning their own house a little more will come back to haunt them like a spook in the night. mark williams was not an anomaly.

  15. The race card has been played way to much during the time of this administration. So I don't like Obama does that mean I'm racist? NO. Racism is the recoginition of race, and the fact that Obama is forcing a socialist agenda down the throat of this country has nothing to do with his race.
