Brazil had planned on winning the 2010 World Cup title, that way they could be the reigning champions when the tournament came to their company in 2014.
Their winning streak continues, as they defeated Uruguay yesterday with a final score of 2-3. Today, Spain will take on Germany in the quest for determining who will face the Dutch team in the championship round.
We've come a long way. Many had previously expected Brazil and Spain to meet up in the final rounds, but that didn't transpire. Spain is still in the running, and if they can pull off a win against Germany tomorrow then the #2 team will have their chance at becoming the true #1.
Whoever makes it to the championship match will have their work cut out for them. If the Dutch can beat both Brazil and Uruguay, then they are a tougher contender than they let on earlier in the championship.
Today's game between Spain and Germany will take place at 2:30 PM EDT and will be broadcast on ESPN. Don't forget to watch these last couple of games, as it will be four more years before the tournament is available again.
