Glenn Beck Rally Approaches Amid Controversy

Glenn Beck rally approaches, and controversy continues. The Glenn Beck rally is not “political” according to Glenn Beck himself. The rally will take place in a mere two days, on the anniversary of the famed Martin Luther King, Jr “I Have a Dream” speech.

So the Beck rally takes place at the same place MLK addressed the nation. This is a controversial choice of dates, and one Beck has defended by saying that “Blacks don’t own MLK, just as whites don’t own Abraham Lincoln” further adding that they are “American Icons.”

So perhaps Beck aspires to be an American Icon. He will be remembered, that is for sure. People love to hate him, and hate to love him…which is why there will likely be an enormous turnout for the “Restoring Honor” rally this weekend.

Although Beck says that the rally isn’t political, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Spokesman said, according to the Washington Post, “Republicans for well over the past year have firmly embraced the tea party and some of these right-wing fringe groups that Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin have rallied around, and these are becoming serious campaign liabilities in the general election," in essence tying Beck to the Tea Party and the GOP.

So what do you think…will the Glenn Beck rally be a good thing or a bad thing?

  1. It is laughable that Glenn Beck is taken seriously. Worse, that he is even mentioned in the same breath as MLK. If you compare their accomplishments, it's a joke (see what I mean here http://bit.ly/bs5DPm). In truth all Beck is doing is promoting his celebrity and his books, thus building his wealth. And the Tea Partiers? They are willing dupes to help him, and they get nothing but the deserved ridicule and derision from having a frat boy and morning zoo DJ their intellectual and spiritual leader.

Although I don't agree with everything Glenn Beck has to say, I do believe that he is sincere about his desire do what he can so we all keep our freedoms and to help our country move to a smaller government "of the people, by the people, and for the people". Which, is NOT the agenda of obama and his party.
