Glenn Beck's rally attendance again disputed? In the wake of the Jon Stewart "Restoring Sanity" rally which began as a satire event after Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally and turned into a political call to action once again, Beck's rally attendance is in the news.

CBS had reported that Beck's attendance was at 87,000 whereas other estimates had a much higher figure - some as high as 500,000.

Once again, Beck's attendance is called in to light. Stewart's rally according to CBS brought in 215,000. Does this indicate that the Comedy Central rally turnout was greater than that staged by the popular Fox News personality?

Not necessarily. We won't ever know the exact count of people who were present at the event. Furthermore, does it really even matter? What matters is that people were inspired. They were inspired by the Beck rally and were once again inspired by the Jon Stewart rally.

One Nation Rally Attendance and Glenn Beck Rally Attendance Crowd Comparison

The One Nation rally attendance and Glenn Beck Rally attendance is the latest in the political back-and-forth between the Liberals and the Tea Party movement.  While Beck’s rally was really a “non-political” event, the One Nation rally was distinctly political in nature. 


There were some estimates of Glenn Beck’s rally that point to a crowd of approximately 87,000 people.  However, Beck seems to think that about 500,000 people were there. 


The One Nation rally attendance estimates peg a crowd of around 200,000.  Of course, no one will give an official number to the attendance due to the highly charged political environment.  


The Glenn Beck Rally was a rally to restore honor.  It was a non political charity event, which benefited a charity which helps our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Despite claims that it wasn’t politically motivated, the rally featured Tea Party faces such as Beck himself and Sarah Palin. 


The One Nation rally was a group of hundreds of liberal organizations, labor unions, and the American 99ers Union.  They are demanding the changes they voted for such as higher minimum wages, unemployment extensions, and easier access to labor unions. 


At the end of the month, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are staging dueling rallies.  The Rally to Restore Sanity and the March to Keep Fear Alive are the true Anti-Beck crowds. Although Stewart is respectful of Beck his audience may not hold the same views. The true testament of which group is larger will be the Stewart/Colbert rally attendance.

One Nation Rally Attendance Bigger than Glenn Beck Rally? [PHOTO]

The One Nation Rally which transpired on Saturday is the talk of the political circles. After the Glenn Beck rally, it only made sense that the liberal demographic would stage their very own event. However, it appears as if the attendance figures for the one nation rally are actually far less than Glenn Beck's rally attendance.

Now, there will be people that argue until they are blue in the face. However look at the photograph here - one of the photos were taken at Beck's rally and the other was taken at this weekend's One Nation rally. Tell me which crowd appear larger?

However, no one is releasing totals on the attendance of the One Nation rally. One non-partisan satellite imagery company issued an estimate of 87,000 for Beck's rally attendance, although he claims more like 500,000 attended. The One Nation organizers claim that 175,000 to 200,000 came to their rally.

The politics are heated, and therefore we won't have a concrete total from the rally. Whose rally was better, Beck's or One Nation? It all depends on who you ask.

Jon Stewart and Glenn Beck Rallies Similar? Stewart Says Yes

Jon Stewart and Glenn Beck rallies similar? According to Jon Stewart himself, that's the case.  While there are many Stewart/Colbert rally attendants who think that the comedians are poking fun of Glenn Beck and Al Sharpton for their 8/28 rallies - in all actuality they are just borrowing an idea that seemed to inspire America. 

Jon Stewart expressed this by stating" It's not meant to ridicule activism or the Tea Party movement or religious people ... What I thought would be great is if Stephen could be my Al Sharpton, he's going to do a counter-rally."

In addition, Stewart was less compassionate about claims that his rally was started in order to overshadow today's "One Nation" rally.  He says TS to that one, folks.  He adds "We're not warriors in their cause. If they're upset, they should have thought of that the past couple of years, before they lost the momentum they had gained in 2008,"

Ironically, Jon Stewart is respectful of Glenn Beck and even claims to be similar to him.  On the other hand, the Union rally which will take place today - well, he doesn't feel the similarities with them.

Jon Stewart Rally Update Obama Endorses Colbert/Stewart Rallies Video

Jon Stewart’s “Restoring Sanity” rally is getting props from Obama. The Colbert/Stewart dueling rallies are held as an “answer” to the Glenn Beck rally that was held at the end of August. Although this isn’t an official political event (it’s hosted by 2 comedy central comedians, mind you) it’s definitely making waves in the political world.

Ironically, some liberals are against the rally as it will take people who would have otherwise hit the pavement getting the word out there to head to the polls and vote liberal during the weekend prior to the mid-term elections. However, the rally is expected to draw a great crowd and many are hoping that the comedians will mix entertainment with common-sense solutions.

In remarks about the media during a discussion about the economy in Richmond today, Obama slams both right and left wing media – the right for suggesting he wasn’t born in the US and the left for saying mean and nasty things about the right. However, he says he’s “amused” with the Jon Stewart/Colbert Rallies. He pointed out that 70 per cent of Americans are just looking out for their families, no matter what their political affiliations are. Below is a video of Obama speaking about the Jon Stewart Rally.

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert's dueling rallies on 10/30 are gaining as much attention as Glenn Beck's restoring honor rally. The dueling rallies are "Restoring Sanity" and "March to Keep Fear Alive" are making those who are critical of the right wingers excited to finally get to make fun of Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin.

Another Glenn Beck Rally Draws a Tea Party Crowd in Illinois

Another Glenn Beck Rally, "Right Nation 2010" brought Tea Party activists and supporters to the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. The Glenn Beck rally sold around 5,500 tickets ranging in cost from $50 to $1,200 each. Of course, Glenn Beck was one of the keynote speakers.

The controversial Fox News host has been trying to get out a message that things need to change in the United States.

"Will you all raise your right hand and swear you will stop sending politicians to the rest of us," he said. "We must change directions. The kind of change America was looking for was a restoration of our honor, principles, values and the entrepreneurial spirit." Is the message that Glenn Beck had for the crowds.

Of course, the appearance drummed up controversy and has shaken up the Illinois Gubernatorial race. Republican candidate Bill Brady came to the Right Nation 2010 rally, but Pat Quinn - the incumbent/Democratic candidate crticized the move, noting that Beck doesn't align himself with any party and doesn't seem to put people together.

The attendance at this week's Glenn Beck rally was a far cry from the Restoring Honor Rally, but whenever he speaks, people listen whether they love him, or love to hate him.

Glenn Beck Rally Attendance Controversy Explained

Glenn Beck's rally attendance controversy continues, and CBS news explained yesterday how the 87,000 crowd estimate came to be. Those who actually went to the Glenn Beck rally believe that far more people came than the 87,000 reported by the news agency.

The article points out that although the photos and videos look like hundreds of thousand of people were present, looking at the photos and videos alone doesn't take into consideration how tightly packed those in attendance were.  That means that a rather large crowd can look small and vice versa. 

Still yet, Beck and others say there were hundreds of thousands of people present.  Beck is in the position where it's expected to over exaggerate how many people were at the rally. However the disparity in the numbers is alarming.

What's the cause? Are the "scientific" estimates correct? If so, does Beck want to make the crowd sound larger?? Are the estimates of people who attended correct? If so, does that mean that the current administration has something to worry about?

Glenn Beck's rally attendance was greater than estimates. Those who attended the Glenn Beck rally are likely very excited about the controversial Fox News commentator's new site.

TheBlaze.com is a place for conservatives to go get their news. Armed with a couple of ads for FreedomWorks.com, an organization that is heavily involved with the Tea Party movement, the site will likely grow in controversy as Beck has over the years.

CBS news reported Glenn Beck's rally attendance to be around 87,000 - although people there and people who viewed the numerous videos and photos indicate that the crowd was at or above the 300,000 mark.

The aftermath of the Glenn Beck rally, attendance controversy, and Beck's comments has been heated as expected. Glenn Beck Rally Attendees and a Bag Tax Altercation

Glenn Beck's rally was attended by thousands of people.  One news report that is surfacing that is quite interesting involves a deli sandwich getting thrown in the face of a deli worker.  Some of the people in attendance with Glenn Beck's rally got into an argument over DC's "bag tax."


The tax is a five cent tax levied on anyone that chooses to have their purchases placed in a bag.  Proceeds are used to clean up the polluted Anacostia River. 


George Washington University's school newspaper told a quite humorous story about a couple of the rally attendees.  The article reads 


Though the rally was a mostly peaceful gathering, two rally attendees got into a heated argument with an employee at the GW Deli over the D.C. bag tax, which ultimately resulted in the tea party member throwing a sandwich in the deli employee's face. The GW Deli declined to comment on the issue.


You have to see the humor in this.  Of course, Beck and the Tea Party are against superfluous taxation. The bag tax is one of those peculiar taxes that would garner some form of protest from them. However, to think that someone is coming to a rally to "restore honor" to the country, and then subsequently throws a sandwich in someone's face is quite...humorous to say the least.

Does Glenn Beck, Religion, and Politics Mix? (VIDEO)

Glenn Beck, religion, and politics continue to be hot topics in the wake of the Glenn Beck rally.  Religion has always be something that Beck has touted highly.  He makes no secret of his faith in God and his desire for the US to return back to God and become the Christian nation that it was founded as.


To some, Glenn Beck is a religious nut.  He recently spoke out about Obama, retracking his comments about him being a "racist" with a "deep seeded hatred" for white people, but then going on to say Obama's Christianity isn't really Christianity at all.  You can see him speak with Chris Wallace about this topic by clicking here.


Beck has recently warned about a "religious oppression" and has urged people to start giving money to their churches to guide them through these times.  He goes on to urge people to "trust in God" during these hard times.


Faith and religion is great, but it's more a matter of personal perspective.  Many are fearful of Beck's ever growing religious rhetoric.

Are Glenn Beck Rally Attendees Transportation Hypocrites?

Glenn Beck's rally attendance remains controversial. One thing about the rally is something that has become another center of some more discussions is how those in attendance traveled to the National Mall. Of course, every aspect of the Restoring Honor Rally will be picked apart in the coming week, and many will stop at nothing to try to paint the rally as a political event.

Glenn Beck still maintains that the rally was not political in nature. However, keynote speakers such as Sarah Palin and Alveda King showcase well known conservative politicians tend to paint a different story to Beck's adversaries.

In addition, various Tea Party organizations and the AFP (Americans for Propensity) arranged transportation to and from the rally via buses. The very participation of a political organizations is looked at as some form of indication that the motives were political for the rally.

In addition, Glenn Beck and his "followers" as they are called in the media are against the government paying for things such as a transportation system. Many of those going to the rally used the metro system, which some point out is hypocritical given that Glenn Beck is against socialism and social programs.

Of course, these arguments may be a bit overdramatic. Public transportation is needed, and just because an organization provides a few buses doesn't mean that an entire rally is politically motivated. The premise of the rally was to bring America together, and for that the attendees are not hypocritical at all.

Glenn Beck Rally Attendance Controversy and Divide Grows

Glenn Beck’s rally attendance remains debatable, and the divide over the accurate attendance figures continues to grow. At first, the totals reported were around 87,000.  People in Washington DC say that that total was vastly understated.

Some people say that there were around 300,000.  I’ve even saw claims that there were an upwards of a million people present in DC for the rally.

While a million sounds to be a bit much, and 87,000 seems to be a bit low everyone waits for a credible answer.  This is one controversy that may never be solved, and if not the message was not lost and if anything, the message was portrayed to many more people as they read about what the fuss is about.

The rally continues to be a slam-dunk for Glenn Beck and Company, much to the chagrin of his adversaries. He may be hated by the left, but he’s well embraced by many conservatives.

Still yet, one has to admit that the Fox News host’s methods are sometimes on the side of unorthodox. However, he’s passionate about his message, stands up for what he believes in, and doesn’t back down to pressure.  For that, he’s well deserved of respect regardless if 87,000 or 500,000 people showed up for his rally.

Al Sharpton hosted a "reclaim the dream" march on the same day as Glenn Beck's highly publicized (and criticized) "Restoring Honor" rally.  Sharpton voiced concerns early on about Beck's choice of venue for the event, as it was on the date and in the same place as the Martin Luther King, Jr. "I have a dream" speech.


Sharpton is a controversial character in the political landscape by his own means.  Some say he's racist against whites, while others agree with his agenda. 


Sharpton's criticism comes more from the black community than anywhere else at all. CNS News reports that Mychal Massie, the chairman of Project 21 said "The Constitution, and I’ve read the Constitution, permits for Glenn Beck to hold a rally. He is not in any way taking advantage of a day or in any way being unfair or in any way maligning the history of Martin Luther King,”


He went on to accuse Sharpton of using race as a way to divide Americans, and said that the term "black community" should be dispensed of, as we are all Americans.

Alveda King at Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally speech video is something that many want to see.  Over four decades after Alveda King's uncle, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, gave his famed 'I have a dream' speech at the footsteps of the Lincoln Memorial, there too she stood, speaking at the rally.


Many criticized the rally, claiming that Beck was trying to undermine the Civil Rights movement by choosing August 28th as the date and the Lincoln Memorial as the venue.  


Al Sharpton had a parallel rally in Washington DC, but far less people showed up.  The title of Sharpton's rally was "Restoring the Dream."  Many noted how his address spoke negatively about the Beck rally, although speakers at the Restoring Honor rally said nothing of the other event.


Alveda King has been an influential face in the landscape of politics.  She served in the Georgia House of Representatives.  She's been a strong pro-life voice, and has even publicly criticized her aunt Coretta Scott King's abortion rights views.

Glenn Beck’s rally at the Lincoln Memorial took place on August 28 – the anniversary of MLK’s “I have a dream” speech.  The Glenn Beck rally was called “Restoring Honor” and it was a call to the US to return to values of the past.

As with pretty much everything that Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin touch, this rally was met with a lot of skepticism and criticism. It is said that the rally was not politically motivated, although there are those who beg to differ.

Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck are two familiar faces within the Tea Party movement.  The rally was set to benefit a charity which helps our troops, and therefore could not be a political event. Many of our readers who were in attendance at the rally have wrote us and let us know that they did not feel that the rally was political at all.

Tony LaRussa has even made comments that the rally wasn’t political, amid controversy over his attendance to give Albert Pujols his “Hope Award.”

Tony LaRussa at the Glenn Beck Rally creates controversy.  Tony LaRussa, the manager for the St. Louis Cardinals was present at the Glenn Beck "Restoring Honor" rally.  He was asked to present the Hope Award to Cardinal Albert Pujols. 


Pujols was being honored for his charity work, and the "Hope Award" was a wonderful distinction.  You can see Pujols accept his award here.


Of the controversy that ensued LaRussa's attendance at the event, he said “It was beyond gratifying. I was inspired. There were a lot of things that inspired me. It was more religious, much more religious (than political)  I’ll raise money for those folks anytime. Albert got a legitimate award I was asked to introduce. I don’t see the problem.”


They noted that what they saw at the rally was not political, but inspirational.  The front office of the Cardinals received many calls protesting his attendance, as did an animal rescue charity that he works with. Still yet, it doesn't appear as if Tony LaRussa regrets his decision to attend the rally at all.

The non-political event was held at the National Mall, on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.  There was a call to return back to the values of our Founding Fathers- to remain the Christian nation we once were. Speakers such as Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, and Alveda King entertained the crowds

Glenn Beck's rally during August 2010 brings a powerful message to Washington DC. There are hundreds of those in attendance at Glenn Beck's rally that are wanting to restore the core values to American society.

What are those values? Our founding fathers founded the United States as a Christian nation. as that nation, we are at a crossroads. Do we continue on with our Christian values, or abandon them for the ideologies that have come up during recent years?

Many, Glenn Beck included, want to restore the nation back to the Christian values. This, of course, is rather controversial. Over the years as our population has increased so have the religions that represent our population.

The biggest case in point about the religions now represented by our population comes from those who practice the religion of Islam. The so-called Ground Zero mosque which is 300 yards from the 9/11 ground zero.

The powerful message from the rally is that there are Americans out there that want to return to the Christian nation we once were. Will that happen?Only if they let their voices be heard. Obama told MSNBC that he ignored the rally However,altogether, and didn't even pay attention to what was going on at the National Mall this weekend.

Obama claims to ignore the Glenn Beck rally, "Restoring Honor" and says that he didn't watch not even a single minute of what went on right near his home at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.  According to MSNBC, our president claims that he's "not surprised" that Glenn Beck could "stir up a lot of people."

Obama went on to say that "I'm making decisions that are not necessarily good for the nightly news and not good for the next election, but for the next generations," 

I find it hard to believe that the president didn't take note of all those gathered at the nation's capital.  It wasn't a political event, but these people were still sending a message.  To blatantly claim to have "ignored" the rally is to admit "ignoring" the message that these Americans were trying to send.
