Dubai UPS Plane Crash Kills Two After Malfunctions

A Dubai plane crash involving a UPS cargo plane which reported technical difficulties has claimed the lives of two crew members.  Although there is no official cause of the Dubai Plane Crash, there is an investigation underway.

The crew initially reported fire and smoke in the cockpit.  The flight was instructed to return to Dubai, but didn't make it.  It disappeared from the radar, and then re-appeared at the crash site.

The plane was diverted to an air force base.  The rough landing made the plane bounce, and then it crashed and burst in to flames.

The two crew members died in the Dubai plane crash.

If there is a positive in this story, it's that there were no casualties on the ground.  Initial reports said that the plane crushed some cars on a nearby highway, but those reports are not true.

  2. God bless the crew members and their families. They diverted that plane from numerous populated areas in the city and avoided what could have been a major air disaster. That was very selfless of them.

  7. You are full of it, if the UPS pilots could have saved their own lives they would at any cost, they are the most self centered people I know.

  8. It is sad commentary that someone has to so cruel. This speaks to the caliber of the writer more than the lost crew. A life lost to tragedy is a tragedy for the victims, their family, friends and the entire UPS family.

  9. Please keep negative comments off of this website. They are sons, husbands and fathers; additionally, they are part of a large UPS Airlines family. Our hearts sank when we heard the news last evening. Our condolences to the familes involved.

  10. I would be interested to hear the flight recorder exchange of the "you are full of it" person when he is in a cockpit with fire and smoke. Or even if there is no emergency. He is indeed "full of it". I am praying for the families, friends and co-workers of these extraordinary, well-disciplined and skillfully trained pilots. God speed to them all. mdm

  12. UPS is the largest airline to have never had a plane crash. I am an employee of UPS and I can tell you that the company holds all employees to a higher standard, so I know that the pilots did everything in their power to land safely, without causing any more causalities. I think that the pilots did an excellent job, and my prayers go out to their families.

  14. My sincere condolences to the family of the two crew members. It surprises my that it is a UPS aircraft was involved, when there are so many half rate operators in the region. Something extremely improbable must have happened to cause this horrible event. No doubt the crew acted selflessly and averted landing in the Arabian Ranches or ant other development or suburb. This is very sad.
