The Petit murder trial has been at the top of the news, and as such an update is warranted. The Petit trial deals with the heinous murder of an entire family, the father of which is the lone survivor. The heinous murder trial has brought gruesome details to light, and the murder of Dr. Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her two daughters aged 17 and 11 is just too unbearable for some people to hear about. The two suspects allegedly texted back and forth about the crime, one even said he was putting his kids to bed before he headed out to perpetrate the act. In addition, cell phone photos recovered from one of the suspect's cameras gave photographic evidence - which wasn't shown to the jury, only described.
Mark Petit, the lone survivor has done the best he can to make it through the trial. He left during an account of the rape of his 11 year old daughter. During the description of the photos, he remained composed.
His 11 year old daughter is said to have died a very painful death, as the front of her clothing was burned worse than the back indicating that she had been exposed to fire.
Steven Hayes and Joshua Komisarjevsky are the names of the suspects. Hayes is going through his trial right now, and then Komisarjevsky will stand trial. They are innocent until proven guilty.
