Even though the planet is in an area that's not too hot and not too cold, there's still the possibility that there isn't life there even though it's possible. The new planet discovered 2010 could be made of gas, or it could be all ice. We don't know yet.
The Gliese 581 solar system has been an intriguing system over the years. Scientists have been studying it from afar, and since our own spacecrafts won't be heading to Gliese 581G any time soon, we will likely watch it from afar, looking for radioactive or electromagnetic waves coming from the planet. This would indicate intelligent life.
However, based on the atmosphere, life on the planet could be as simple as microbes.

Still yet, the novelty of a new planet discovered 2010 isn't wearing off. People are excited. Whether or not the new planet is really like earth, however, has yet to be discovered.

We don't even have the technology to go 1/4 the speed of light it will take over 200 years to get there (at leats probably more). So unless we get better technology we will never see this planet
