Rally to Restore Sanity? Young Americans Didn't Vote in 2010!

Rally to restore sanity? Young Americans didn't vote in 2010, despite massive "get out the vote" efforts on the part of the President, Jon Stewart and many politicians and political pundits. Stewart's "Rally to Restore Sanity" was thought to be something that would actually increase young voters participation in the mid-term elections.

For the most part, Jon Stewart's core demographic for the Rally to Restore Sanity were 18-35 year olds who are against the "extreme" views of the Tea Party, and breakout candidates such as Rand Paul, Christine O'Donnell, Sharron Angle, and Sarah Palin.

In the end, it was the GOP who appeared to have had the best turnout, with many key races being won by the GOP.

Overall, pundits and politicians will have to figure out how to 'get out the vote' in 2012. Otherwise, the change everyone wants may not be the change that happens.

Now, did you honestly think that the Rally to Restore Sanity would increase voter turnout during the 2010 mid term elections?

  1. Jon Stewart never had a GOTV effort. No time prior to or during to he say "Vote".

    Please fact check.
