Wisconsin Election Results 2010: Ron Johnson Beats Russ Feingold. The 2010 Wisconsin senate race didn't end as expected, as Ron Johnson beat Russ Feingold. The White House invested in the Feingold campaign, hoping to hold on to the seat. However, Ron Johnson emerged out of nowhere and took the senate seat. Johnson is a former manufacturer, and a businessman instead of a politician.
This shows that people are increasingly tired with the liberal agenda, and are leaning more to the right seeking the "change" that was promised during the 2010 elections.
Ron Johnson is hoping to bring jobs to Wisconsin, and make changes in Washington that will benefit the state of Wisconsin.

Learn from our military how to achieve and or become the best! Bring out a maximum wage and a livable/profitable minimum wage. That's what works. And it would make excess money available unto schools, hospitals, and public works, just to name a few. Make our country a place of pride instead of ignorant masses.
And to make this country the absolute best it can be, we need to live well and be the best educated. Not just some of us... all of us.

ReplyDeleteWe will not be the best educated when $700 billion go to rich tax evaders instead of to the educational system. The income distribution is shocking, but is nothing compared with asset distribution (the top 1% has accumulated, through generations almost 40%)

Ron Johnson will work to thwart legislation that would undermine the power of the wealthy oligarchs he represents. Russ Feingold is one of the very few true patriots this country has sent to Washington. He did not line his pockets and make deals to line the pockets of others. He acted independently and courageously. He listened to us and worked tirelessly on our behalf. It is our loss, here in Wisconsin, and it is our country's loss.
ReplyDeleteRuss Feingold NEVER listened to me. I wrote him a hand written letter on six issues in his last term alone and he voted against me on every one. I am sick of the arrogant self-assuredness he held for his near-lifelong political position and lack of concern for anyone outside that didn't fit into his reign's agenda. Good riddance. Not that Ron Johnson is any better, he also only serves himself. I actually voted for the IND ticket. But at least Johnson hasn't blatantly ignored every single letter I sent him. The only other problem is Tammy Baldwin in District 2, who somehow got elected again. She votes like she is on the Madison City Council and its time she represented the people of Janesville and Beloit as well as Progressive Dane for a change.

ReplyDeleteNo one seems to realize that unless both parties work together to take care of issues we as a country are screwed. I don't care what side you are on if parties are not passing bills because the other party came up with the idea we are getting no where. This type of behavior is separating our country even more than it currently is. We have to vote on what's right, not against what the other party is proposing. I know one thing from here on out, if a candidate makes promises in their campaign we need to pass a bill that will hold them accountable for their promises.
ReplyDeleteLet's see here: As senator, Russ Feingold voted for the Healthcare bill when 67% of the country and 72% of people in Wisconsin were against it. That's not exactly what i'd call listening to your constituents. Then, there's the issue of "selfishness". You know, there's an intrinsic difference between having your money taken from you and allocated to other people and being given the option, if you so desire, to help people with it. There's nothing selfish about it, it is just what is right. People generally earn the money that they are paid. No one else did that work to earn that individual's money. If he or she wants to give that money to someone in need, all the more power to them. But it is not the government's job to tell them that they ALWAYS have to. What if they're short on the mortgage payment? What if they need a bit more food to feed their children that month and can't give to their charities? Then they're okay and there's nothing wrong with that because self-subsistence is important. But if the government is controlling their money, where are they going to get that little bit of extra from? Other families that have nothing to spare either? It goes both ways. It's a terrible idea. I like how the entire debate is falsely based on the idea that Bush was a conservative. Really? Since when are Amnesty, National Education Control, and Wiretapping uniquely conservative ideals? He supported all of them, but so does Obama. You'll notice the only thing Obama opposes of Bush's is the tax cuts, which helped reign in the deficit for SIX YEARS. That should tell you the difference between conservatives and liberals. Who are you people claiming you're going to move? Do you really think that Walker can do worse than Jim Doyle who ACTUALLY has let the roads in Wisconsin go to waste and has robbed the coffers (illegally, I might add) to pay his special interests, and who has ACTUALLY driven multiple big businesses out of Wisconsin that stimulated the state economy (like Harley Davidson? Ring any bells?). I'm glad you all could show up and deliver your baseless, meaningless, one-line bumper-sticker quotations. You can continue being wrong now.
ReplyDeleteSince when does government create jobs? Jobs become available when the economy is healthy enough to allow businesses to expand. However, if you're going to raise taxes, on people and on businesses, give people 2 years of unemployment to go and not work to earn, and lie to everyone's faces that the economy is improving when it's declining, then I guess the government CAN create jobs because you've just destroyed every possibility for the market to produce jobs on its own. Way to go Obama. I'm sorry if the facts are inconvenient, but the highest unemployment rate EVER under Bush was 4.2%. Under Obama it's been 10% (or higher) for almost a year now. Yep. Wow. Obama is so much better than Bush, what was I thinking?

ReplyDeleteSo my big question is how can all of us really know what is going on when the "facts" are so extremely different depending upon which person you listen to. The "truth" is what we should be concerned about, and the "truth" is this- Our students in our schools (even our high performing ones) are getting our butts kicked by basically every other country in the civilized world, other countries are now designing the next best thing, other countries are taking our jobs- not because the government lets them, but because their workers can do the job just as well as ours or better (even though I can barely understand the customer service rep).

We worry about our own children of course and try to "give" them the best education, but when it comes to Rufus down the road that's his problem not mine. In order to raise the country everyone needs to be raised, and how can our new senators, governors, and congressman do that without us?

ReplyDeleteIn a state that isn't pure blue (Cali, Mass, etc), an Obama endorsement was pretty much a kiss of death. That's why one can't put much stock in the "Palin effect" either. There was going to be a very red map regardless of what endorsements candidates received.
