Stuxnet Worm: A Cyber Attack Aimed at Iran’s Nuclear Facility?

The Stuxnet Worm has infected various computer systems throughout Iran , namely the nuclear facility. This story is gaining a lot of popularity, as many are curious because of Iran ’s defiance of UN resolutions were they targeted by some massive computer attack?

According to PC World, that doesn’t appear to be the case. Approximately 30,000 IP addresses in Iran were affected by the Stuxnet Worm, which is still mutating. The virus was created for Siemen’s supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA) which affects not only Iran, but also Pakistan, Indonesia, and India – although Iran has bore the worst hit from the cyber virus.

Still yet, the media reports that there is no indication that the nuclear facility was directly targeted, and although computer systems within the facility were compromised, none of them were critical control centers. Of course, what are the odds that Iran would come out and tell the truth about this?

The Stuxnet worm is so well orchestrated, German officials are calling it the “hack of the century.” There are bound to be a lot of conspiracy theorists out there claiming that the US or the UN is behind it. However, there are no reports that indicate that that is the case.

In an increasingly electronic age, however it wouldn’t be unusual for one country to use electronic data against another. Could the Stuxnet worm actually be a cyber attack aimed at Iran ’s nuclear facility? What do you think?

Iranian Newspaper Claims Carla Bruni a Prostitute, Deserves to Die

An Iranian newspaper called Carla Bruni-Sarkozy a prostitute, and later said that she deserved to die.  Bruni posted a call for clemency of a woman sentenced to be stoned to death by the Iranian government for committing adultery.

The "prostitute" claims stem from the supermodel's active social life before she married the French president.  Many believe that she's the reason that Nicolas Sarkozy divorced his former wife.

Bruni is far from alone in demanding the clemency of the woman in Iran sentenced to death by stoning. Many within the international community do not think that the crime warrants the punishment.

The French Foreign ministry spoke out about the comments, and the Iranian government has publicly backed away from the comments made by the state-run newspaper.

I must say I was shocked when Iran called Carla Bruni a prostitute. My jaw hit the floor when they said she deserved to die...
