This was one of those important races for the Democrats. Although the GOP isn't expected to take the Senate like they did the house of representatives, they Democrats want to keep every seat that they can.
Ken Buck is the GOP contender, and he's actually starting to edge up against his opposition, Michael Bennet. He leads now by about 34,000 votes. Buck winning would be a crushing blow to the Democrats.
What do you think of these Colorado Election Results 2010? Are you rooting for Buck or Bennet?
BENNETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
ReplyDeleteI am a 57 year old woman -- no way do I want Buck to represent me - for anything, anywhere. Hope morning shows that Bennett has been elected to continue the good job he has been doing.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe so many people could support Ken Buck. I really thought differently of Coloradans.
ReplyDeleteagree with you. I think people have gone right out of their minds. this guy from Kentucky - his speech - government doesn't create jobs the private sector does? where was he when under Bush private sector was behind govt sector growth by 60%? And Kentucky not wanting a handout, now that's too funny. And it's nice to know that the DOD, NASA, police, highway repairment, not to mention the silicon valley and internet never created any jobs.
ReplyDeleteI think these people must be vaccuums who soak the iq of anyone who goes near them.
No Bennett!
ReplyDeleteYou should be ashamed being 57 and supporting abortion. What good job has Bennett done except to follow Obama agenda. Ha- so funny.
BOO-HOO !!!! Read the numbers and weep, LOSERS !!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLeftists are whack..Rand Paul is dead on message and he did not like Bush spending either.
ReplyDeleteLeftists are all about emotion.
So Hranch, I'm fine with no abortions as long as all those people who want to tell someone that they "need to have that child" pony up to provide its support until at least 18.
ReplyDelete1:33am: Get ready for a long night in Colorado. AP is reporting that there has either been an error in their vote tally or an error on the part of the county overseeing the Denver area voting count. It looks like 40,000 votes that may have been registered to the benefit of Republican Ken Buck may belong to Michael Bennet. What is unclear is whether this is simply an error made by AP in reporting the vote tally or if it an actual official voting count mistake. Stay tuned.
ReplyDeletefrom here: http://blogs.forbes.com/rickungar/2010/11/02/election-night-2010-begins-with-first-big-tea-party-pick-up/?boxes=Homepagelighttop
to Hranch, no one can tell a man what he can do with his body, why should anyone be able to tell a woman what's right for her's? If you're not the one who has to go through a pregnancy no matter the means (rape, incest, or just plain old wanted intercourse), then you should have no say in what happens during that pregnancy.
Hranch- "Minds are like parachutes, they only function when open."
ReplyDeleteYes, a woman should have the right to choose what to do with her body.....but that choice needs to be made BEFORE she has unprotected sex! No one should have the right to commit murder. And, YES I am a woman!
ReplyDeleteTo anonymous
ReplyDeleteI wonder how you feel if your parents did not choose life. There are always consequences for our actions and killing a life should not be the answer.
That's the funny thing about you liberals-fight to keep illegals here and drain our economy but kill the babies and expect taxpayer to foot the death. All I can say is good luck in resurrection day, oh I forgot you don't believe.
ReplyDeleteBuck is a wing-nut, and I couldn't vote for him though I'm a conserative. But I couldn't vote
ReplyDeletefor Bennet either. Bennet is a silver-spoon liberal who has no idea how people really live.
Can't we get a rational candidate?
Speaking for myself If my parents hadn't chosen life I would have never been born and so wouldn't be feeling much of anything. Actually according to my belief system, I would have simply ended up in a different body. The body is but a vessel, life is eternal. And I don't "believe" either at least not in the seudo Christian sense, I say seudo because most Christians are anything but Christian. As for the illegals, they contribute hundreds of billions of dollars in tax money to this economy and get nothing for it, so acctually they help to grow the economy, not drain it. And as for Bennett being a silverspoon liberal, so was FDR and he ushered in the longest period of economic prosperity in our nations history, how did he do it? Raised the top marginal tax rate back to sane levels, created the new deal to safeguard against the things that caused the depression as well as put Americans to work and he did it while winning a war against the most advanced military force on the planet at the time.
ReplyDeleteHey racist anti-illegal fuck face, why are you complaining about tax payers paying for abortions when the only time they would ever actually have to do that is when the mother could not afford the baby in the first place. So logic follows that if the mother had the baby, she would not be able to support the baby, and either she puts the kid up for adoption, or she has to go on welfare to pay for it. So no matter which way you slice it the tax payers end up paying, unless you're suggesting the mother starve the baby to death, in which case I guess you're not really pro life are you?
ReplyDeletehaha you christians all think you're going to heaven, God isn't real and if he is then you're going to hell for believing the Bible and soiling his good name by branding him with your retarded belief system.
ReplyDeleteMamma always said there are two things that should remain private...God and politics! Interesting how that's so out there anymore..
ReplyDeleteIf folks would do a little research they'd find Buck is best for Colorado!
ReplyDeleteHow many people on here who are anti-Buck feel that way because of TV commercials? How many of you actually researched him and the snippets they took for the commercials? It's everyone's right to vote, but if you're uneducated on the candidates you're doing the country a great disservice by voting blindly...
ReplyDeleteWhat a bunch of idiots in Colorado and Nevada! You are going to get what you voted for, but unfortunately, the problem is I have to help pay for your stupidity. Did you not pay any attention for the past two years what congress is doing to us? This is what happens when people do not do any research but vote the way they think the money is going to benefit them. I am not saying that the democrats are totally wrong, there is plenty of blame for the republicans.
ReplyDeleteIf all we think about is what the government can do for us, we'll get insurmountable debt. The Bush years were also largely years of a Democrat-controlled Congress, so as one comment said, there is plenty of blame to go around for the failings of those years. For two years, Republicans haven't had dirt under their fingernails. Now Republicans will have to take some heat for whatever bad policies this Congress comes up with. The key questions will be whether, now that the administration doesn't have a lock on both houses, the administration will finally listen to Republicans, and will Republicans concede anything in order to create bipartisan legislation. It is up to us to let our Senators and Representatives know whether we want them to work with those across the aisle. If we want them to refuse to work together, the divide will get even bigger and the pendulum will continue to swing from far right to far left. If we want a better government, we have to be better constituents. Whichever way it goes, we get the government we deserve.
ReplyDeleteI can see this site is designed for rational discussion. How stupid and potty mouth can some of you guys lower yourself too?
ReplyDeleteBennet is a copy of Obama. The worst and most anti-american prsident in American history. Why in the world would anyone vote for him. Whats wrong with making english the national language? Whats wrong with stopping the mexicans from taking over? And if you don't think thats happening just look who built your house and cleans your house or cuts yr grass ect..Whats
ReplyDeleteObama is anti-American?! Then is America anti-change? Why yes! Let's continue to let companies poison us while making millions and control political decision in their favor not ours! It doesn't make sense to make English the nation language unless we are heading back to the middle ages or Roman times and the plebeians (the poor majority) aren't important enough for the patricians (the rich and powerful) to learn/speak their language. A national language should be spoken by nearly all or the majority. Soon Spanish speaking will be the majority- DEAL WITH IT. It is naturally happening from the same freedom that created YOUR situation. Which must be nice... because I SURELY don't have any Mexicans cutting my grass or building my house- You must be wealthy or a politician. Obama is not anti-America he is an agent of change. He is boldly pissing people off- good for him. At least he is actually doing something! A politician hasn't had balls like this since who knows when- Teddy Roosevelt maybe. Who's radical and great ideas were surely apposed by some.
ReplyDeleteWhat is wrong with people? Life is difficult but look up from what you're doing, stop being sheep, and monitor these crooks profiting off YOUR slow DEATH! Not to mention the planet's! Wake up and use your brains...
I am totally for abortion, even state funded abortion, because who chooses to get abortions? the leftists.... and we can honestly do with less of them.
ReplyDeleteGet ready for more of the same with Bennet still in. Let's blame Bush some more while you usefull idiots (Obama supporters) and think that Obama is doing something positive for this country. Open your miopic minds and think beyond what the liberal media is telling you. The rest of the world thinks he is a joke, but you worship him. I guess his trip to India is worth 200 million a day....Hell, I'll contribute $50 to have him stay over there.
ReplyDeleteRead your history and you will discover what they are doing to your little minds.
At least there is some balance in power and that will keep your leader in check.
I voted for Ken Buck and am proud of it. You liberals can curse and yell at me all you want, just shows how immature you are. I have my own opinion and just because it isn't yours doesn't mean it's wrong.
ReplyDeleteTo the person who said "I wonder how you would feel if your parents didn't choose life" Well I probably wouldn't be feeling anything because I wouldn't be alive now would I?
ReplyDeleteReading these comments one has to wonder how we can refer to,"The American People", as if we shared anything more than citizenship. The divide is so deep and wide it's a wonder we feel any sense of unity. In fact, let's not forget that the success of this nation is not built on our Freedom, as the common notion would have it, but on our rule of law. It is this rule of law, provided by the Constitution, that keeps us from resorting to, "2nd Amendment solutions".
ReplyDeleteObviously, religion has no power to keep us from each other's throats, and in fact often provides a handy excuse to attack the other.
"Freedom", exercised without laws would be chaos, and most of us would not accept our own "Freedom", if the other guy were to enjoy his version of it unrestrained.
So, government is crucial in keeping us apart in a sane manner, so that we can call ourselves, "united", to the extent that we all accept this means of being so.
When we fail to sort out the use of law properly, we resort to irrational conclusions. A very obvious one raging currently is that of abortion. If we consider it strictly with regard to the necessary law, we ask, "If abortion were not legal for any reason, who would we punish for breaking the law, and how?"
If you frame an argument that does not imclude a lawful means by which to resolve it, then you are simply raving about, "Freedom", and in that context you cannot deny the other theirs.
So, shall we settle down and remember that our elected leaders are put in office in order to sort out these matters with laws, and most particularly, that those who head off to Washington to suppport your "Freedom", will, of necessity, being doing it according to law and with the implicit requirement that we obey it.
All of your slanders and lies and wild rhetoric under the protection of "Free Speech", mean nothing if you cannot, do not, accept the fact that if you cannot frame your argument in a way that includes a fair and reasonable law to support it, you're merely leading us toward chaos.
Buck deserves to win because people in Colorado need to know that Obama's liberal agenda is not going to filter down to this state. Bennett does not represent me or my family - and never will.
ReplyDeleteas a women i would like to be the one who decides what i do for my self. have a baby or not have a baby be on birth control or not be on birth control when it comes to decisions like that it should be my choice and no one elses. and all you loonies on the side of the road holding sighns on abortion and harrassing women at an abortion clinic when they are already scared in this situation. you should all be ashamed of your selves you have no right to tell her what to do your the monsters what if that women cant take care of her child or she is raped or its insest what ever it is its her choice. like someone posted earlier no one tells a man what to do with their body then no one should tell a women. and if someone is having sex and wants to do the right thing and be on birth control then why take that away that is harmless. we are back tracking womens rights here
ReplyDeleteKen Buck is a NUT!!!! all you women who voted for him obviously are ok with a man saying he is more qualified to be on office cause he doesnt wear high heels... he is crazy im in college and work full time if he takes away student loans then not too many kids will experiance college and better them selves. i am a young women and on birth control because there are things in my life i would still like to acommplish and i like having sex but would like to have a child when i am ready to provide a decent life for my child. all you crazy people who voted for Ken Buck need to move to a different state so you can be with your own kind you are evil individuals and colorado doesnt want you here!!!
ReplyDeleteBoy sure happy I don't live in this state. I didn't realize CO had so many ignorant racist people with crazy religious ideology
ReplyDeleteWow, and I am really shocked to find out that so many white men and women in your state are waiting in line to get those fabulous jobs cleaning bathrooms, working the fields and selling strawberries by the side of the road, but all the Mexicans are taking these jobs away from you. So sad.
You claim to want less government in our business but you want government telling women what they can or can't do with our bodies.
If you want to believe in fairies and pseudo gods in the sky and red devils running around in your made up hell, that is your problem. Let us rational common sense folks alone and don't try to bring your crazy religious beliefs into politics.
I know. I agree. I'm embarrassed to be a Coloradan this morning. Fortunately, a freshman Senator has absolutely no power to do anything. Guess, if he wins, he'll be close to his snob kids.
ReplyDeleteBuck! Let's get those republicians back in office and fix the democrates mistakes! Bahaha!
ReplyDeleteBennett sucks. He will say anything to get elected. I hope he loses becasue if he wins Colorado will lose.
ReplyDeleteKEN BUCK all the way!
ReplyDeletelets get rid of that baby raper bennet
All I Know is, is that it's time for a change, and I think the rest of the country agrees with me, just look at last nights results!
ReplyDeleteLess government in our BUSINESS! Key word here!
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody remember what the economy was like 2 years ago when Obama first took office. The state of the economy was not caused by him or his administration but by the Bush administration that had the job for the 8 years previous. To think that you can fix the mess we were in in 2 years is just silly. One thing I do see is that we are rebounding from that mess. Yes, slower than we would like but as a society we want every thing RIGHT NOW! However that is not always possible. The current administration has made many positive strides and will continue to do so if "we the people" work together. I suggest we set aside party lines and all work together for the good of our country.
ReplyDeleteYou blame the Bush administration, but if you remember congress was democrat majority, same with the house! O ya, you cant forget the first forign attack on US soil, that will kill the economy in any country! Lets not forget one of the countrys biggest natural disasters ever with Katrina, Ya you can probly blame Bush for that too! People are just plain ignorant!!
ReplyDeleteNicely said!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter weather or not it was a Dem or Rep in office or in majority what happened during one administration should not be blamed on the next administration. You can see the trend gong back 50 plus years, the current administration gets blamed for policies put into place during the previous administrations. If you want to get in to the blame game then no one wins. People could tit for tat all day long and it would serve nothing.
ReplyDeleteI am truely embarrassed for my fellow Coloradans today. You've gotten so caught up in the emotionally charged issues spoon fed to you by your TV that you again missed the big picture of politics.
ReplyDeleteIt's the old Houdini yet again and we all bought into it hook line and sinker yet again. They get you all charged up with the normal hot button issues so they don't actually have to tell you what they are up to. Really? Really Really? Are there that many stupid people that buy into this crap. Really?
When we make descisions in normal life with our emmotions they are usually wrong or atleast not the best choice; not enough thought is put into them because we are mad or sad or upset somehow and just want a change.
So then why do we vote with our emmotions?? Seems like a bad idea, but this what polititions want. They don't want you to think, they want to give you your opinion... They have been doing for years on your TV.
Turn off your TV and actually do your homework on these people instead getting caught up in the he said she said. What are we in middle shcool again? Do you need your drama?? Awww!
I've worked in government and for the most part it's the same everywhere in this country. If you can't beat them, blame them, and if your can't blame them discredit them... WOW! Very Very Mature! Act like a spoiled child until you get what you want, and we support this. LOL!!
Be honest would you ever let your kids act like these polititions?? Probably not, so why do we put up with the polititions acting the way they do???
These types of actions ofcourse happen because these people are not qualified for the positions! If you know someone who really knows what they are doing and have been doing their whole life do they ever make excuses, blame, or discredit to get their job done??
I think if more Americans got off of their dead spoon fed asses and did their homework on the potential candidates we wouldn't have Dems or Republicans in office. It's all about the money and these are the only 2 parties that have it..
Kind of seems like an intensional lack of choices to me.
It's all about control! We are the frogs in boiling water and we are too stupid and/or lazy to jump out and do something about it. Pacified Americans!!!
And my final piece to this bantering blog is, "as Americans we have the right to choose who we elect, if we continue to be lazy and emmotional with our descisions we will only ever have the choice to vote Dem or Republican because we will let the person with the most money win instead of actually choosing the right person for the job. If we don't learn to make better choices we will alway be stuck in-side our self-inflicted box."
BENNETT ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOPE HE WINS!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI had a friend years ago that said the gov't is in business to spend money not create jobs. Granted gov't spending does create some jobs, just look at all the civil service and military people. But, the real purpose of the gov't is to protect the country and come up with laws/infrastructure etc so we can take care of ourselves. That is done by everything from big businesses, to farms to mom and pop shops. That way we can take care of ourselves, not depending on the gov't to do so. If you want the gov't to take care of you, which is where we've been headed for yrs, under both parties, then be prepared to like what they feed you.
ReplyDeleteNo as far as Buck/Bennett. I looked up Bennetts voting record, about 92% party line. There are a lot on both parties like that. They don't even have to show up to vote that way, just stamp party line. Can't say that I really like some of Buck's views either. We didn't really have a good choice in CO. But, when it came down to the line, Bennett voted for the health care. My wife has a really rare disease, and we have been able to get some drugs/treatments through the insurance, even though it was not FDA approved. Nothing is FDA approved for her disease. So, what happens whe the gov't takes it over completely? Does only FDA approved treatment get uses? I've read much of the health care bill and have found no answers yet. But, if in the worse case, she can only get FDA approved treatment, then Bennett and everyone else the voted yes, signed her death sentence.
It comes down to I want to make choices for my life, not being told what I have to do.
To the people upset about Bucks stance on abortion....maybe you're the ones who need to move to another state/country if your whole life revolves around the abortion discussion. We voted for Buck to make a statement that Bennett is just a rubber stamp for the abismal Obama administration....step away from the community organizer and open your eyes.....
ReplyDeleteYou usefull idiots are everyone---keep voting for Obama and his minions, and you will get what you deserve--
Too bad we have to put up with them too!!
gee Mike won.. lets all make the best of this and do our parts to help in any way we can with any one that crosses our path... Do what is right, give when you have the chance, help when you can... stop judging everyone and before you make assumptions... find out the truth. We should be thankful to live in this nation and care for our own and the people in area. When I look at a new born baby it is bitter sweet.. so tiny helpless... I never want any harm to come to them. I also see people who can't have babies wanting to adopt... I say stop charging so much to adopt and think about the benifits to the child and the parent who gets the chance to have a child. You guys are so mean... both sides. :-(
ReplyDeleteBennet? Hell no! Obvious most of the nation has a clue and are replacing the socialist Dems with Republicans. Sad to say that too many Colorado voters buy in to the "change" mentality that Obama and Bennet are breading. Too many liberals scream about whats in it for them! NOT the country. Its a 50/50 America and probably always will be! Stop buying those pathetic ads on the radio and TV during election times and do some real research. If you have chosen your side this way then so be it.....
ReplyDeleteRight wingers are all emotion. They ignore the facts and the obvious.
ReplyDeleteBuck will prevail in the recount, because God is a Republican.
ReplyDelete
