Oil Spill Gulf of Mexico 2010 Updates and Live Feed

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has been going on for over 60 days.  The updates for the BP spill and the live feed continue to be on the forefront of the minds of many Americans. Today, the containment cap woes continued on as repairs to the LMRP have caused more oil to spill into the Gulf.

The containment cap was hooked to the broken well head, and was containing at least a portion of the oil. A robotic submarine bumped into the cap, and now it has to be repaired as there are fears that crystals could form under the head, clogging it up.

This releases hundreds of thousands more gallons of crude into the Gulf of Mexico. In addition, even if the damage didn't occur, rough waters in the Gulf due to the weather could cause crews to pull away from work for a few days.

In the world of politics, it's been announced that 50% of Americans disagree with Obama on Oil Spill results. He fares better than Congress and BP.  42% of Americans approve of how he handled the tragedy.

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico also has a live feed going.  To view the live feed, you can see it below.

As the oil spill continues, the devastation mounts.  From pristine beaches in Panama to the devastation of wildlife, the tragedy worsens.  Hopefully, the hurricane season won't be too bad this year.

  3. its already killed almost all of our restaurants which have fish on the menu. its put a lot of people bankrupt. people in this world are just to dumb to actually try stuff to get the oil to stop instead of just keep trying to do the same ideas they have already tried and failed. no one is trying hard enough. instead of BP using the money to try to clean up the spill a little bit and all the animals they r killing they bought all the advertisment space they could on google that has anything to do with the spill or volinteer for help on the spill. grow up people

  4. I agree that the situation is horrible. and I am concerned with the fact that it's hurt a lot of animals and businesses and is a very dangerous thing to have happening, but the oil spill will not become rain. Water evaporates and becomes condensation then precipitation. Oil does not evaporate.

I also can't help but feel that it's not that they aren't trying, because no one wants to see this happening. I'm positive BP isn't just sitting around going "oh well just do a little of this and a little of that" because in the end they know this is drastically affecting their business and their reputation. I think this incident is just so overwhelming and difficult that they just don't know how to handle it. We have never encountered something like this before, so we are trying what has worked in the past. Unfortunately now it's not enough and we are trying to figure out the next step.

that is of course my own personal feelings. I don't support what it is doing to our planet, and i do feel more can be done, it's just a matter of being able to figure out how to do it.
