Jon Stewart called President Obama "Dude"! During an appearance on The Daily Show, a serious Obama was featured on a comedy show, and as such the result was naturally one where discussion ensued.

Ever since the days of George Washington, our President has been referred to as "Mr President."

Does Jon Stewart calling the president "dude" indicate a lack of respect, or does it just represent how casual our attitude in general has become to authority?

After all, I don't doubt that Jon Stewart respects the President. I think he respects any president - even ones he doesn't agree with. However, overall Americans have had an increased irreverence for authority.

Rahm Emanuel Leaving White House, Becomes former White House Chief of Staff

Rahm Emanuel leaving the White House? Yes, that's right. Now Rahm Emanuel has officially become the FORMER chief of staff for Obama. He's known for being tough, aggressive, and intense. Those that don't like him use strong words against him.

So why is someone with that intensity and political drive leaving the most important job in the White House behind the President? He wants to become the mayor of Chicago.

That seems to be a noble cause. Right now, Illinois is embattled in scandals that began with the election of former Illinois Senator Barack Obama to the US Presidency. Allegations that former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich essentially "sold" Obama's seat, and Jesse Jackson Jr.'s alleged involvement has been the subject of much political issues for the past two years.

With many high-profile Illinois politicians battling out the scandal, perhaps Rahm Emanuel can step right in.

Still yet, there's no indication that he will win. There's no guarantee. It will be interesting to see what becomes of Rahm Emanuel now that he's gone out of the Obama administration. DO you think he will make it as Chicago mayor?

Rahm Emanuel Chicago Mayor: White House Chief of Staff Resigns

Rahm Emanuel Chicago Mayor? The White House Chief of Staff, who has long been criticized by pundits on the right is now leaving his post to run for the Mayor of Chicago.  Although it's a questionable move, there are likely many who are more than thrilled to see him go. 


Rahm Emanuel is stepping out just one month before the mid-term election, where it's expected that the GOP will gain seats and could quite possibly gain control of the House, Senate, or both. 


Perhaps Emanuel is bowing out while he's seen as an asset.  Obama relies on his congressional relationships and intensity to keep the government aggressive in their agenda.  Or maybe, Emanuel is looking to something with a more long-term prospect.  The current mayor has served six terms and just announced he's not seeking a second term.  In the best case scenario, with Obama Emanuel would only have six more years in the White House.


Still, winning the Chicago Mayoral race is no sure-bet. There are lots of high powered politicians in the Windy City that would love that job. It will be interesting to see if Rahm Emanuel becomes Chicago mayor.

Jon Stewart Rally Update Obama Endorses Colbert/Stewart Rallies Video

Jon Stewart’s “Restoring Sanity” rally is getting props from Obama. The Colbert/Stewart dueling rallies are held as an “answer” to the Glenn Beck rally that was held at the end of August. Although this isn’t an official political event (it’s hosted by 2 comedy central comedians, mind you) it’s definitely making waves in the political world.

Ironically, some liberals are against the rally as it will take people who would have otherwise hit the pavement getting the word out there to head to the polls and vote liberal during the weekend prior to the mid-term elections. However, the rally is expected to draw a great crowd and many are hoping that the comedians will mix entertainment with common-sense solutions.

In remarks about the media during a discussion about the economy in Richmond today, Obama slams both right and left wing media – the right for suggesting he wasn’t born in the US and the left for saying mean and nasty things about the right. However, he says he’s “amused” with the Jon Stewart/Colbert Rallies. He pointed out that 70 per cent of Americans are just looking out for their families, no matter what their political affiliations are. Below is a video of Obama speaking about the Jon Stewart Rally.

Obama Get out the Vote Rally Attendance Ignored

Obama's "Get out the Vote" rally attendance was largely ignored in the media, despite the attendance far surpassing the expected crowd of 18,000. At the University of Wisconsin, approximately 26,500 people showed up to the rally - which is meant to inspire younger [more liberal] voters to head to the polls this November 2.

The stage is set for a Democratic party slaughter. The anti-incumbent sentiment and the high profile Tea Party movement is expected to cost the Democrats at least some seats during the mid-terms.

There have been some Tea Party rallies that had attendance of 10,000 or so which garnered national attention. The President spoke at this rally and people lined up about a mile to hear the President speak.

The Democrats have a larger reserve of voters than Republicans, but many expect republicans to be more apt to head out and vote this November. Therefore President Obama wants the message to get out there and vote to resonate to everyone.

The only media that covered the Obama Get out the Vote Rally in any sort of detail was MSNBC.

Fox News: Obama Loves Gangsta Rap Headline Pulled

Fox News and Obama haven't been the best of friends. Obama has called the network "destructive" and truthfully the Fox news channel has been a thorn in the Obama Administration's side since the word "go." The network caters to the conservatives, which Obama is not. So it only makes sense that the two just don't jive.

The President had an interview with Rolling Stone magazine in which they discussed, among other things, what music was on the President's iPod.

He has over 2,000 song (who doesn't?) and for the most part the artists on the tracks are somewhat yawn inducing - Coltrane, Miles Davis, classical music - the basic politician stuff.

However, he mentioned that his personal assistant was turning him on to artists such as Lil Wayne. He goes on to say that he was "no expert" in rap music and that "Jay-Z" used to be the extent of his rap offerings.

According to the Huffington Post, Fox News turned that interview into a headline which reads "President Obama Loves Gangsta Rap"

Now, aren't we all closet gangsta rap fans? I wouldn't care even if he did jam out to Lil Wayne and Nas. Maybe Fox News is still upset about Nas' Rap which dissed them?

Obama Approval Rating: 38% Believe Obama Deserves Re-Election

Obama’s approval rate is dwindling, and only 38% think he deserves to be re-elected. Approximately 43% of voters plan to vote to oust him from his office, and another 13% would at least consider voting for someone else. This is the same type of political atmosphere which caused the Democrats to lose power during the 1994 mid-term election.

The thing that upsets most people about Obama is Obamacare, or the health care reform bill which was passed this spring. The bill, which includes many provisions that are not popular with most Americans, was passed despite massive protests from the public.

The margin by which people dislike Obamacare is 13% - which is a landslide in pollspeak.

Independents dislike Obamacare to the tune of 54%.

The Obama administration and “Big Spending” politics will continue to hurt the administrations chance at re-election. Obama needs to listen to what Americans want, and not push down any more legislation that is unwanted by the American public. Egyptian Paper Doctors Photo of Mubarak and Obama?

Did an Egyptian paper doctors photos of Mubarak and Obama? There's a scandalgoing on, and many people are not impressed. Is it at all possible that a photo of our commander in chief with another world leader was doctored? That's the allegations that are coming out.

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was shown leading a pack of Middle Eastern Leaders and President Obama. Obama was hosting Middle East Peace Talks at the White House, and was actually leading the pack. Not that it matters to most people, but it's quite comical when you think that a journalist took the time to do some creative photoshopping such as this.

Bush Era Tax Cuts Not Extended By Obama

Bush Era Tax Cuts likely won't be extended by Obama, according to reports issued.  Barack Obama has always been vocal about wanting to keep taxes low on families that make under $250,000 per year while raising taxes on the wealthy and big business.


Adjusting the tax law is like a two edged sword.  On one hand, you need to get money to pay for all the social benefits we are entitled to as Americans.  On the other hand, it is wealthy individuals and businesses that create jobs - and raising their taxes could make them less likely to do business in the US or promote various endeavors.


The Republicans, of course, want to extend the tax cuts - and Obama could have a difficult time with his agenda in a couple months after the mid-term elections.


According to the New York Times, Obama "will be partisan as he seeks to sharpen the contrasts between Republicans’ record and efforts by Democrats to create more jobs."


Will the failure of Obama to re-extend the Bush era tax cuts cause an even greater divide between Democrats and Republicans?

Will Barack Obama and Sarah Palin Join Apple Ping?

Facebook lovers Barack Obama and Sarah Palin may have another way to connect with those who follow them.  Apple unveiled "Ping" their social network.  It's like musical Facebook on steroids.  Ping allows you to see what your friends are listening to, plus gives you a link to purchase and download various media. 


Celebrities can also have their own pages, and provide links to purchase songs, audiobooks, and more. 


One can't help but wonder...will Obama and Sarah Palin use Ping? Obama boasts the most Twitter followers, and Sarah Palin is known for a Twitter gaffe or Facebook rant or two.  Now they will have yet another way to keep up with the masses. 


I think I'd check out Palin and Obama.  You can tell a lot about someone by what they listen to. I'm curious to see what would be on Sarah Palin or Barack Obama's playlists!

Obama Speech August 31 after Iraqi Freedom Over (VIDEO)

Obama's speech August 31 marked the end of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The military operation, which started under the watch of George W. Bush, has been a political and PR nightmare for the United States since its inception.

Last night for the second time ever (except, of course, the State of the Union address) the President addressed the nation.

Obama was quick to give himself a pat on the back, stating "This was my pledge to the American people as a candidate for this office. Last February, I announced a plan that would bring our combat brigades out of Iraq, while redoubling our efforts to strengthen Iraq’s Security Forces and support its government and people.

That’s what we’ve done. We’ve removed nearly 100,000 U.S. troops from Iraq. We’ve closed or transferred to the Iraqis hundreds of bases. And we have moved millions of pieces of equipment out of Iraq."

Many were hoping that Obama would refrain from mentioning the campaign in the speech, but it is highly doubtful that any politician would refrain from mentioning keeping a campaign promise. Still yet, the good thing is that the service men and women are able to come home.

Is Obama a Muslim? Some GOP Believe Obama Wants to Impose Islamic Law

Is Obama a Muslim? The president is bombarded with the remnants of “misinformation” and despite statements to the contrary, many believe that Obama is a Muslim. In fact, the Washington Post reports that a “majority” of the GOP thinks that Obama wants to impose Islamic Law.

They report in a recent Newsweek poll showing that 52 percent of Republicans think the statement "Barack Obama sympathizes with the goals of Islamic fundamentalists who want to impose Islamic law around the world," is either "definitely" or "probably" true

So why is that? Is it the concerted efforts of the conservative parties to paint Obama as a Muslim because of his familial background?

Islamic Law is hard to understand, according to the same article.  Some imams find it above their comprehension, so it’s likely that those surveyed don’t know what Islamic law is.

The article read Edward E. Curtis IV explained in The Post this week, "Most mosques in America do not teach Islamic law for a simple reason: It's too complicated for the average believer and even for some imams."

So is it possible that the poll should have simply said “Do you think President Obama is a Muslim?”

Does Glenn Beck think Obama is a Racist? (VIDEO)

Glenn Beck is quoted as saying that President Obama is a "racist" with a "deep seeded hatred" for white people. Of course, we all know that Obama is a Christian. During an interview with Chris Wallace after the Restoring Honor rally in Washington, DC Wallace did ask Beck some tough questions.

Chris Wallace brought up when Glenn Beck called Obama a "racist." Beck looked visibly uncomfortable. He then tried to backtrack the statement, expressing regret over his choice of words but not all out apologizing.

Beck went on to call Obama's religion a form of "liberation theology."

Beck goes on to compare himself as a Mormon and Obama's religion, stating that many Americans probably wouldn't call Obama's religion true "Christianity."

Beck's adversaries are quick to chastise his words and point out his judgmental nature. His supporters are quick to applaud him for speaking his mind, no matter who it upsets.

President Obama's Birth Certificant Can't Be Plastered on "First Muslim President's" Head

President Obama's birth certificate has been the subject of much controversy since right wing bloggers took to a conspiracy theory that Obama isn't qualified to be president because he "wasn't born in the USA." In addition, another number of misinformed individuals claim that Obama is "the first Muslim President" of the United States.

Obama, like many Americans, is a Christian.

Many people point to the fact that Obama told the media that Park51 developers had "the right" to build the so-called "ground zero mosque" 300 yards from the 9/11 memorial site.

The separation of church and state, and the right to religious freedom does allow the group to build there - and simply stating that fact does not a muslim make.

Obama was visibly irritated during a TV interview. Of the various rumors regarding his religion "The facts are the facts. We went through some of this during the campaign – there is a mechanism, a network of misinformation that in a new media era can get churned out there constantly. If I spend all my time chasing after that then I wouldn't get much done."

He also said he can't go around with his birth certificate plastered on his head.

I guess I can see where Obama would be getting frustrated with all the rumors surrounding him. However, no matter what when you are a politician you are going to have opposition, and rumors will be spread about you. At least Obama appears to be able to handle it.

Obama Claims to Ignore Glenn Beck Rally, Restoring Honor

Obama claims to ignore the Glenn Beck rally, "Restoring Honor" and says that he didn't watch not even a single minute of what went on right near his home at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.  According to MSNBC, our president claims that he's "not surprised" that Glenn Beck could "stir up a lot of people."

Obama went on to say that "I'm making decisions that are not necessarily good for the nightly news and not good for the next election, but for the next generations," 

I find it hard to believe that the president didn't take note of all those gathered at the nation's capital.  It wasn't a political event, but these people were still sending a message.  To blatantly claim to have "ignored" the rally is to admit "ignoring" the message that these Americans were trying to send. 

John Boehner: Obama Should Fire Economic Advisors

House minority leader John Boehner had some advice for Obama: fire his economic advisors.  Of course, there’s little Boehner will be able to do to convince the president that he is right, but it’s still pretty gutsy that he’s come forward and made that remark. He said:

“President Obama should ask for — and accept — the resignations of the remaining members of his economic team, starting with Secretary Geithner and Larry Summers”

It’s no secret that the economy has far from rebounded like Obama promised, and that is the underlying reason that Boehner has made his remarks.

At least Boehner isn’t all-out blaming Obama for everything. While the president has made some lofty promises, he can’t foresee everything and relies on the expertise of his advisors.

Boehner also stated that the voices of small business owners are not being heard, and pointed out that none of Obama’s advisors have ever owned small businesses

Rush Limbaugh: Barack Obama “Anti-American”

Rush Limbaugh says that President Obama is the first “Anti-American” president. Limbaugh is a controversial conservative who has recently made Facebook fame for his wedding photos.  However, Limbaugh spoke his mind and called the president “Anti-American.”

The issue lies with the 9/11 “Ground Zero” mosque. There has been much controversy over the American president claiming that the Muslims have the fundamental “right” to build a place of worship on private property near where radical Islamists flew two planes into the World Trade Center in 2001.

Obama has received much criticism, as while it may be “legal” for the Muslims to build their mosque near that place, it’s not respectful of the thousands of lost American lives which happened on that day.

Limbaugh received criticism for his remarks, as expected. On Reddit, the following was proclaimed about Rush’s recent rant:

Limbaugh sarcastically suggests that we build a Hindu Temple next to Pearl Harbor and a Mosque next to the Pentagon... without realizing that Shinto, not Hinduism, is the most common religion in Japan , and there is already a Mosque inside the Pentagon and a Shinto temple next to Pearl Harbor .

The controversy into the 9/11 mosque continues.

Rush Limbaugh: Facebook Followers of President Obama "Suckers", offers Free Autographed iPad

Rush Limbaugh called Obama's Facebook followers "suckers" in his latest foray into social media communication.  The talk show host also posted several pictures of his wedding on the site as well, for all the world to see.

Obama has 12.4 million Facebook followers, and according to Rush, these individuals are: suckers.  Of course the claim comes as little shock as Rush isn't exactly the biggest Obama fan.

In a flash of irony, Rush Limbaugh has made his foray into to Social media himself. Of course, he likely doesn't think that HIS fans are suckers. After all - they are all being entered to win their very own iPad signed by none other than the conservative radio show talk show host himself.

Rush has over 272,000 fans so far - but that's merely peanuts when compared to President Obama's bankroll friend list.

But honestly - ask yourself this - how many times do you actually interact with the "famous" people on your Facebook list? Exactly.

So what do you think....are Obama's followers really suckers or are Rush's followers actually "fair weather" followers, only there for the possible free iPad?

Obama Signs Unemployment Extension- President Signs Bill For The Unemployed

Late Yesterday President Obama sinned into law the long and hoped for Extension Bill Hr 4213. This Bill

will give relief to many of the unemployed that currently have or running out of their unemployment. The bill has been sought after by many who have been laid off and just cannot find a job.

With the national unemployment rate at 9.5 % some say higher this bill will make it easier for many without a job to sleep a bit easier at night. We all know that many estimate the true unemployment rate to be well into the double digits, especially considering the multitude of Americans who are underemployed, working part time, or have simply just given up.

The Signing of the Bill Ended a long Battle with the Republicans, who have filibustered the bill. The Republicans wanted to have assurances on how the Government will pay for Hr 4213 and if any cuts would be made to help ease the exploding National Debt. Of course, many criticize this theory as they are responsible for a host of the nation's money problems.

The bill has had it’s up and down but with the signing of the bill yesterday by President Obama now many Americans can sleep at nigh knowing that at least for now they will have a check in the mail.

Unemployment Benefits Extension – Approval Rating of Obama Lead 2010 Political Buzz

The unemployment benefits extension and the approval rating of Obama lead the political buzz circles today. Yesterday, the Senate received the 60 votes they needed to end the Republican led filibuster which was squashing the hopes of an extension of tiers 1-4 of the emergency unemployment passed largely by the Bush Administration.

It’s hoped that the actual extension of benefits will be passed later today, in which case Obama could sign the bill and have it instituted as law by the end of the week.

Obama needs a move like that, as his approval rating has plummeted in recent weeks. Quinnipiac University had a poll which indicated that 48% of Americans disapprove with his performance.

Perhaps his speaking out on the unemployment extension will help edge that approval rating upwards. Otherwise, Obama will face fierce competition come 2012. If the Democrats want to hold on to their Presidency, they are going to have to do something to get people to like Obama again.

People are disheartened with government spending, partisan politics, the recently passed healthcare legislation, immigration debates, and the unemployment situation. You name it, people are griping about it.

The focus right now should be on passing the unemployment extension ASAP. If not, then Obama’s ratings will likely suffer more as people find places to put blame.
