After Barack Obama was elected to be the President of the United States, Rod Blagojevich was the governor of Illinois and was charged with appointing a senator to take Obama's seat in the Senate. There has been alarming "proof" that Blago was going to enter into a deal in regards to Obama's seat to Jesse Jackson Jr, the son of Civil Rights activist the Reverend Jesse Jackson. Blago is innocent until proven guilty, and is still in the midst of a trial regarding these allegations.
Giovana Huidobro is a restaurant hostess, and it's coming out that Jackson paid airfare for her to come out to Chicago from Washington DC more than once - yet another ethical red flag for the beleaguered politician. However, there's no indication that he violated any ethics rules in paying for the airfare and not disclosing it at this time. (An investigation is still pending.)
Last week Jackson told investigators to "Bring it On" if they had proof he was involved in any illegal dealings with Obama's former Senate seat.
Huidobro claims she knows nothing about any dealings that Jackson may have had with Obama's former seat and Rod Blagojevich. This is an interesting and incredibly involved story, and if you are interested you can read more about Giovana Huidobro and Jesse Jackson Here.
