New Zealand Earthquake 2010 Pictures, Curfew, and Aftershocks




A New Zealand earthquake 2010 transpired yesterday, and now the citizens of Christchurch are under a curfew. Aftershocks continue, and some of them have been reported to be around 5 on the Richter scale.


Although New Zealand falls in the so-called "ring of fire" where lots of earthquakes are felt in the Pacific Rim, they haven't had a quake in such a populated area in many, many years.

The population of Christchurch is about 372,000.
The best thing is that no one is reported to have been killed by the earthquake.

This is only the latest natural disaster. One of the most devastating of the year was the Pakistan floods, and you can see pictures of that here.
