President Obama's Afghanistan Update with General Petraeus and National Security Team

President Obama's Afghanistan update with General Petraeus and the national security team is important.  Obama needs to keep an eye on the ever-increasing tensions in the middle east, especially considering the tensions that are available and felt within the US as well.

Hilary Clinton and Joe Biden attended the meeting via videoconferencing, as Obama received updates from Ambassador Eikenberry in Afghanistan regarding the support for Afghanistan’s self governance, accountability and the upcoming elections.

General Petraeus informed Obama that the US army is working to train Afghan security forces in order to ensure that the country can operate as a democracy and hold elections, and keep the Taliban at bay.

The US Ambassador to Pakistan updated everyone on the Pakistan flood situation, and US relief efforts.
