Obama Stitches Dominate White House Christmas Tree Delivery Discussions

Obama stitches were what everyone was talking about, instead of the delivery of the official White House Christmas tree to Michelle Obama.

The press caught a glimpse of the commander in chief from a White House window while waiting for Michelle Obama to be given the official Christmas Tree.

The whole thing was an "accidental" elbow jab to the lip.  One can't help but wonder how the president is going to hide his injury - of course, he can't. The injury took place during a friendly B-Ball game at a Washington military facility.

Rey Decerega has been outed as the person who was responsible for the injuries.  He's a member of the Hispanic Caucus.

The president is an avid lover of basketball, and has even attended professional and college games while in office. Medical staff at the White House sewed up his injuries in a way that would make the scars less visible, according to ABC News. 

Of course, there are injuries in any sport. It's not all that uncommon for someone to bust a lip playing basketball.  It could have been worse. He could have gotten a black eye, broke his nose, or pulled a muscle in his knee.

However, I imagine he's going to get a lot of chuckles walking around with 12 Obama stitches in his lip!

Obama: "Room to Compromise" on Bush Tax Cuts

Obama said there's "Room to Compromise" on Bush Tax Cuts, backtracking on a pre-election vow to only extend Bush Tax Cuts for those making less than $250,000 annually. John Boehner and the GOP, those who signed the "Pledge to America" were firm in desiring that all tax cuts be extended.

In what seemed to be a picture out of a Dr. Seuss book, the right refused to budge on extending only middle class tax cuts, whereas the President and his administration, arguably the left, refused to extend all tax cuts.

There may be compromise in the wake of the mid-term elections. Americans have spoken about their desires, which include a change. They're tired of the bail outs for Washington, the healthcare reform and more.

So perhaps now some have essentially lost their jobs Obama's ready to compromise. The question is...will the compromise on the tax cuts happen?

Jon Stewart called President Obama "Dude"! During an appearance on The Daily Show, a serious Obama was featured on a comedy show, and as such the result was naturally one where discussion ensued.

Ever since the days of George Washington, our President has been referred to as "Mr President."

Does Jon Stewart calling the president "dude" indicate a lack of respect, or does it just represent how casual our attitude in general has become to authority?

After all, I don't doubt that Jon Stewart respects the President. I think he respects any president - even ones he doesn't agree with. However, overall Americans have had an increased irreverence for authority.

Obama Reid SNL Skit

Obama, Reid SNL Skit was hilarious.  In the weeks leading up to the mid-term elections, it comes as no surprise that SNL would take to poke fun at various politicians.  However, Obama and Reid seemed to be an unlikely pair, with others such as Sarah Palin and Christine O'Donnell out there. 


However, that was thrown out the window.  In the skit we see the dynamics of politics and how sometimes people within the same party try to avoid each other. 


People in Las Vegas aren't too fond of President Obama, and therefore Harry Reid in the skit was trying to distance himself from the President. 


He even went as far as to say that he'd tell the president one thing and do another if it benefitted Nevada. 


To me, this is also similar to how Carly Fiorina and Meg Whitman try to distance themselves from Sarah Palin.

Clint Eastwood Obama Fan? Nope.

Clint Eastwood an Obama fan? Nope! The actor turned director has came out and said that Obama "seems like a nice guy" but that he's "not a fan." He went on to add that Obama was doing what he needed to do to stay in his job, but that he isn't governing.


Eastwood backed McCain during the 2008 Presidential election, although he's not a right winger. Clint Eastwood in the past has also backed Democrats, including Gary Davis who ran against Arnold Schwarzenegger in the California Gubernatorial race.


Other stars that don't support Obama include Kelsey Grammer who recently launched RightNetwork and Jon Voigt who speaks at Tea Party Rallies. However, for the most part Hollywood is very liberal. There are actually many more left wing activists than there are right wing when it comes to that industry.

Obama Campaigns for Minnesota Democrats

President Obama ended a four day campaign swing today, campaigning for Minnesota Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Mark Dayton. Obama, former President Bill Clinton, as well as Sarah Palin have been three big names that have been campaigning ten days before the mid-term elections.

Sarah Palin called this the "election of our lifetime", although that term might come in to play again in 2012 should she decide to run. However, with the nation in the shape it's in right now, change has to be made.

Obama thinks that the democrats can make that change, and wants some more time to get the change that he promised during his campaign. According to Obama, a GOP lead in the government would undo all the 'progress' that has been made.

White House Science Fair 2010

White House Science Fair 2010. President Obama hosted a White House science fair, and twelve great and fantastic young minds from across the nation were invited to attend. They qualified by winning various STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) science fairs across the nation.

As the Wall street Journal puts it, “Just like the old days, most exhibits were presented on posterboards. And just like the old days, there’s always one kid whose project is so over-the-top brilliant that the rest want to drop-kick her.”

That person was Amy Chyao. She created a method for medicine to penetrate deeper, and in order to create the technology she had to “teach herself” chemistry.

The President was in good humor as he joked about having a robot kick a soccer ball at reporters, and mentioned how he likes to drive with his knees while eating a hamburger.

The White House Science Fair 2010 shows us one of our President’s strong points. He’s got a good sense of humor, and he cares deeply about the nation’s youth. Now that the science fair is over, he’s going to hit the campaign trail.

Barack Obama & Sarah Palin Cousins? You Betcha!

Barack Obama & Sarah Palin cousins? You betcha! The Associated Press reports in the video below that Obama and Palin are 10th cousins through a common ancestor who lived in the 17th century. The Commander in Chief is also 10th cousins to Rush Limbaugh and Dick Cheney and 11th cousins to President Bush.

I guess it's safe to say that these family relationships are on his mother's side of the family? Obama's father is a native of Kenya so I would think the common ancestors were on the American continent.

The AP gets their information from folks at ancestry.com. Genealogists study family trees and ancestors every day. In some respects, everyone is related if you go back far enough.

Hey...all families are dysfunctional. However, when you're sitting at Thanksgiving this year fighting with your family, think of how dysfunctional it would be for Rush Limbaugh, Dick Cheney, Bush, Obama, and Sarah Palin to be together in one place?

Book Thrown at Obama Video Brings Controversy

Book thrown at Obama during rally...Obama was at a rally in Germantown Pennsylvania when someone threw a book and it narrowly missed his head. Now, from watching the video below, it's hard to tell if the book was thrown AT Obama, or if this was just someone tossing a book and it just appeared as if it were going towards the President.

Juan James Rodriguez is the 24 year old rally attendee who was responsible for the flying book. The Associated Press reports that Rodriguez wrote the book that he threw at the President and was hoping that Obama would read it.

Yeah. And the Iraqi that threw a shoe at Bush made the shoe and hoped the president would wear it.

The funniest thing about the clip isn't that someone threw a book at Obama, it's that Obama was oblivious to the whole thing. I can imagine that he was sitting in the Oval Office browsing the web and saw the clip and thought...man...I don't remember seeing that book thrown at my head.

Jon Stewart Rally Update Obama Endorses Colbert/Stewart Rallies Video

Jon Stewart’s “Restoring Sanity” rally is getting props from Obama. The Colbert/Stewart dueling rallies are held as an “answer” to the Glenn Beck rally that was held at the end of August. Although this isn’t an official political event (it’s hosted by 2 comedy central comedians, mind you) it’s definitely making waves in the political world.

Ironically, some liberals are against the rally as it will take people who would have otherwise hit the pavement getting the word out there to head to the polls and vote liberal during the weekend prior to the mid-term elections. However, the rally is expected to draw a great crowd and many are hoping that the comedians will mix entertainment with common-sense solutions.

In remarks about the media during a discussion about the economy in Richmond today, Obama slams both right and left wing media – the right for suggesting he wasn’t born in the US and the left for saying mean and nasty things about the right. However, he says he’s “amused” with the Jon Stewart/Colbert Rallies. He pointed out that 70 per cent of Americans are just looking out for their families, no matter what their political affiliations are. Below is a video of Obama speaking about the Jon Stewart Rally.

Obama Get out the Vote Rally Attendance Ignored

Obama's "Get out the Vote" rally attendance was largely ignored in the media, despite the attendance far surpassing the expected crowd of 18,000. At the University of Wisconsin, approximately 26,500 people showed up to the rally - which is meant to inspire younger [more liberal] voters to head to the polls this November 2.

The stage is set for a Democratic party slaughter. The anti-incumbent sentiment and the high profile Tea Party movement is expected to cost the Democrats at least some seats during the mid-terms.

There have been some Tea Party rallies that had attendance of 10,000 or so which garnered national attention. The President spoke at this rally and people lined up about a mile to hear the President speak.

The Democrats have a larger reserve of voters than Republicans, but many expect republicans to be more apt to head out and vote this November. Therefore President Obama wants the message to get out there and vote to resonate to everyone.

The only media that covered the Obama Get out the Vote Rally in any sort of detail was MSNBC.

Fox News: Obama Loves Gangsta Rap Headline Pulled

Fox News and Obama haven't been the best of friends. Obama has called the network "destructive" and truthfully the Fox news channel has been a thorn in the Obama Administration's side since the word "go." The network caters to the conservatives, which Obama is not. So it only makes sense that the two just don't jive.

The President had an interview with Rolling Stone magazine in which they discussed, among other things, what music was on the President's iPod.

He has over 2,000 song (who doesn't?) and for the most part the artists on the tracks are somewhat yawn inducing - Coltrane, Miles Davis, classical music - the basic politician stuff.

However, he mentioned that his personal assistant was turning him on to artists such as Lil Wayne. He goes on to say that he was "no expert" in rap music and that "Jay-Z" used to be the extent of his rap offerings.

According to the Huffington Post, Fox News turned that interview into a headline which reads "President Obama Loves Gangsta Rap"

Now, aren't we all closet gangsta rap fans? I wouldn't care even if he did jam out to Lil Wayne and Nas. Maybe Fox News is still upset about Nas' Rap which dissed them?

Obama: Fox News Destroying America

Obama says Fox News is destroying America. Yes, that's right our commander in chief just happened to say that one of our media outlets practices destructive habits. Fox News and the Obama administration has long been hailed as polar opposites.

Now, in an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, Obama is quoted as saying “I think Fox is part of that tradition — it is part of the tradition that has a very clear, undeniable point of view. It’s a point of view that I disagree with. It’s a point of view that I think is ultimately destructive for the long-term growth of a country that has a vibrant middle class and is competitive in the world.”

In 2009, Obama made the remark that he had "one news station" that was devoted to "attacking" his administration. Later that year, an administration official said that they'd treat Fox News like an "opponent."

The network, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch, caters mainly to conservatives. Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, and Bill O'Reilly are among the top opinion personalities on the network.

Rahm Emanuel Chicago Mayor? Obama Chief of Staff Leaves White House?

Rahm Emanuel Chicago Mayor? Obama's chief of staff, who has been heavily criticized may be leaving the White House in order to run for an office of his own. Of course, Obama is from the Chicago area so it's familiar political stomping grounds.

Chicago is 1/3 white, 1/3 black, and 1/3 hispanic. Already, African Americans and Hispanics have voiced their opposition of Emanuel - and that's not all that surprising. Each race usually supports a candidate of their own race according to the Christian Science Monitor.

Former Sen. Carol Moseley Braun, Rep. Danny Davis (D), state Sens. James Meeks (D) and Rickey Hendon (D) are African Americans who are named as possible democratic contenders. Meeks may be a bit controversial, as he has more conservative views. Jesse Jackson, Jr was previously named as a good option - but then he got entangled in the Planet Blago debacle.

Although Rahm Emanuel has made it in the West Wing, will he make it in Chicago? Although many may be glad to see him go or hear of his departure, it might not be for as long as we think.

Obama Approval Rating: 38% Believe Obama Deserves Re-Election

Obama’s approval rate is dwindling, and only 38% think he deserves to be re-elected. Approximately 43% of voters plan to vote to oust him from his office, and another 13% would at least consider voting for someone else. This is the same type of political atmosphere which caused the Democrats to lose power during the 1994 mid-term election.

The thing that upsets most people about Obama is Obamacare, or the health care reform bill which was passed this spring. The bill, which includes many provisions that are not popular with most Americans, was passed despite massive protests from the public.

The margin by which people dislike Obamacare is 13% - which is a landslide in pollspeak.

Independents dislike Obamacare to the tune of 54%.

The Obama administration and “Big Spending” politics will continue to hurt the administrations chance at re-election. Obama needs to listen to what Americans want, and not push down any more legislation that is unwanted by the American public. Rush Limbaugh Argues with Caller over Obama Tax Cuts

Rush Limbaugh has been a controversial right wing shock jock for a long time. It should come as no surprise that Rush Limbaugh actually argued with a caller over the Obama tax cuts given that the caller in question said that Obama has cut taxes for 95% of Americans.

It just so happens that Rush and his friends aren't in that 95% of Americans whose taxes were cut, or at least that's the impression I get from listening to the video.

For those who need hard numbers, PoliFacts.com did a study on the Obama tax cuts and found that, when considering the tax credits given out as a part of the stimulus plan the claims are true. You can click here to read their analysis.

The reason that most people don't think that Obama lowered taxes is because the stimulus was handed out in a not so obvious way - first time homeowner tax credits, working tax credits that resulted in higher paychecks, and more.

Obama: Ahmadinejad at UN Offends US Near Ground Zero

Obama walked out on Ahmadinejad at the UN in NYC after the Iranian president accused the United States of perpetrating the 9/11 attacks on ourselves in order to save the "Zionist Regime" which is, in their cryptic terms, Israel.

So basically, what the President of Iran is saying is that the US flew 2 planes into their own buildings using radical Muslim pilots to give it that "rogue jihadist" look, and then used the incident to ensure Israel's survival.

Israel is a tough country, if I do say so myself. I highly doubt that they would need the US to "pretend" to have a terrorist attack to ensure their survival. The claims were uncalled for, and blatantly offensive - especially given the proximity to ground zero.

Joining Obama in the walkout was Great Britain as well. Thanks, Britain for standing in there with us. It's too bad we had to allow this crazed leader to come to our country only to slap us in the face.

Sarah Palin Drops H-Bomb at Fox News, Refers to President as "Barack Hussein Obama"

Sarah Palin drops H-Bomb at Fox news while discussing Christine O'Donnel, referring to the President as "Barack Hussein Obama." Of course, that IS the President's given name - but given the history of, oh the last quarter century having a middle name like "Hussein" would seem to be the ultimate political bullet.

That's not the case of Obama, who defeated John McCain and Sarah Palin's bid for the presidency in 2008.

Palin was discussing, in the video clip below, how the media is entangled in this circus centered on Christine O'Donnell and her high school and college years - and she's just a candidate for Delaware's open Senate seat! However, when Obama was running for President and elected, we've heard little about his past.

Obama is somewhat elusive. Before 2008, it appeared as if the Clintons would be back in office via Hillary. Obama was just another obscure senator that relatively few people outside of Illinois had ever heard of.

His mother was white, his father a Kenyan. He's got family living in Africa, and there are conspiracy theorists who believe that Obama wasn't actually born in the US. Given the importance of these claims, you'd think this would be something people would look in to.

However, Christine O'Donnell admits "dabbling in witchcraft" and all of a sudden she's "crazy" and "unfit."

Tea Party Movement: Obama Desires "Real Solution" (VIDEO)

Tea Party movement followers have a noble challenge from the commander in chief - he wants "real solutions" to the nation's problems - namely budgetary problems. In an interview with CNBC, the President points out that the Republican party and the Tea Party have failed to provide any "real solutions" to the looming budget problem.

The central argument, of course, isn't the unemployment extension and paying Americans who need funds it's about the Bush Era tax cuts.

The tax cuts are set to expire at the end of this year, and the Democrats want to expand all the tax cuts that benefit those making $250,000 or less per year. The GOP wants ALL of the Bush tax cuts extended.

However, extending all the taxes will cost $700 billion over 10 years, and that's money that the nation needs now to cover the budget deficit.

Of course, this is a central argument in the mid-term elections. Republicans point to irresponsible spending as the reason for the deficit. Democrats point back at the Republicans and blame the Bush administration. Meanwhile, on main street the Tea Party movement and people all over decide they are tired and just want a change. Midterms 2010: America's Changing Landscape, Tea Party, and Ground Zero Mosque

The 2010 Midterms are less than two months away, and America's changing political landscape is more and more evident. Recent Tea Party upsets within Republican primaries in states such as Alaska and Delaware goes to show that America is ready for a change.

Christine O'Donnell was a Tea Party backed candidate in Delaware who is vying for vice president Biden's old Senate seat. She won the Republican nomination in the state, and many claim that her victory is really a victory for the Democrats.

Other notable issues include not only unemployment, but also the Ground Zero mosque. Fox News, Sarah Palin, and Glenn Beck all cover the issue, which has ballooned into a huge controversy. Recent tensions between Muslims and the western world were further compounded when a controversial pastor in Florida decided to announce his Koran Burning plans.

Support or opposition to the mosque could impact a candidate - so watch for views on this topic as well.

The Mid-term elections are becoming almost as important as the presidential election. Before you know it, it will be 2012 and we will be dealing with a massive re-election bid by president Obama.
