Rally To Restore Sanity Countdown Begins

The Rally to Restore Sanity countdown begins. Next weekend will be the Rally to Restore Sanity at our nation's capital. Hosted by Comedy Central TV personalities Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, the rally is slated to be even bigger than the rally to restore honor hosted by Glenn Beck.

While Jon Stewart is behind the Rally to Restore Sanity, Colbert is behind the March to Keep Fear Alive. The two dueling rallies are a parody of the 8/28 events of Glenn Beck and Reverend Al Sharpton.

Some aren't happy at all with the decision to host this rally the weekend before voters head to the polls. Several liberal activists who would have otherwise hit the streets getting people to vote are going to head instead to the rally, which could potentially impact liberal voter turnout.

However the two rallies are bound to be a success. I'm looking forward to reporting more next week on the Rally to Restore Sanity. Below see a video clip about this rally.

Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity Draws Satellite Rallies Around America

Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity and Steve Colbert's March to Keep Fear Alive are drawing satellite rallies around the country. Approximately 140,000 people have confirmed they will be at the Ocotober 30th rally at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, and there are many more who would love to go, but can't.

The rally and march is a parody of Glenn Beck's Restoring Honor rally, which was actually a "non-political" fundraiser for a non-profit that benefits the troops in Afghanistan. Although the rally was "not political" it was held at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on the same day as the anniversary of the Martin Luther King, Jr "I have a Dream" speech. Alveda King, Dr. King's niece, was present at the Beck Rally.

Also present was Sarah Palin. Many liberals criticized the rallies as a disguised Tea Party event. The rally was blogged about for over a week after its conclusion, and to this day there's not a straight answer on the attendance at the rally.

Given that the Jon Stewart rally is drawing satellite audiences around the US, it will be hard to tell how many people attended either in person or via these satellite parties. Still yet, the Jon Stewart rally and Steve Colbert March are poised to be successes.

Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity Announced (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart's "Rally to Restore Sanity", a direct jab at Glenn Beck's restoring honor rally has been announced. The October 30th rally at the Lincoln Memorial will actually be a dueling rally held alongside Colbert's March to keep Fear Alive.

Of course, you know this is a big ploy on the Al Sharpton rally, which was held on the same day as Glenn Beck's rally because it was the anniversary of Martin Luther King's famed "I Have a Dream" speech.

Also of political significance is the Rally to Restore Sanity is just three days before the Mid-Term elections - definitely an important date to remember. Although, the organizers of these "rallies" actually say there's no significance in the date.

What is known is that this is going to be a hilarious day. There's nothing like two comedians making fun of two high-profile and controversial political activists to brighten your day. See the hilarious video of the announcement below.
