Meg Whitman For Governor of California 2010

Meg Whitman for Governor! Meg Whitman, the former eBay CEO who is running in the California gubernatorial race against former governor Jerry Brown has a big day tomorrow. She's confident that she will be the next governor of California, following in the footsteps of the "Governator" better known as Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Only in California would an action movie actor be proceeded in a public office by a former tech firm CEO.

Whitman hasn't had an easy time running as the GOP candidate for California's seat. Her opponent unearthed her former maid, who was let go after word got out she was illegal. Meg Whitman fired her when she found out that she was not allowed to be in the US, but still this became a big scandal. It may have hurt Meg Whitman with the Latino voting base, but overall the race is still too close to call.

Do you support Meg Whitman for Governor of California?

Carly Fiorina & Meg Whitman Tequila Shots To Gain Hispanic Californian Votes? [VIDEO]

Carly Fiorina & Meg Whitman Tequila Shots To Gain Hispanic Californian Votes? Carly Fiorina and Meg Whitman are very unique Californian politicians. Both were CEO's of high profile tech firms, and both have been known as some of the best businesswomen of our modern day.

Both are members of the GOP and both want to change Washington and California. Fiorina is taking on a heated battle against long-time Californian incumbent Senator Barbara Boxer for the open Senate Seat and Meg Whitman is taking on Jerry Brown in the California Gubernatorial race.

Both Fiorina and Whitman attended the Hispanic 100 Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony, and did two tequila shots with the crowd before speaking. The organization feels strongly about Fiorina, but some fear she will vote for stringent immigration reform.

The Hispanic voting base has been swinging left ever since Meg Whitman's former maid came forward and claimed that Meg Whitman knew she was an undocumented worker.

The Fiorina Boxer race is one of the most important during the 2010 mid-term elections.

Meg Whitman Housekeeper Scandal Nicky Diaz and Whitman's Explanation

Meg Whitman's Housekeeper scandal is putting a damper on her bid to become the next governor of California. Meg Whitman's former housekeeper Nicky Diaz, an undocumented worker, surfaced with Gloria Allred in tow roughly a month before the election and claimed that Whitman knowingly hired her, didn't pay her fairly, and mistreated her.

Of course everyone with half a brain knows that this is a political ploy, even if the allegations are true. Many are wondering what Meg Whitman had to say about the allegations:

We hired Nicky because she had all the appropriate documents. We went through a hiring agency and then in June of 2009, she came to me to tell me that she was here illegally and did not have the appropriate documents. I made the hardest decision I have almost made in my life, which was to let her go. And my lawyer said to me, there’s not much you can do for Nicky. She forged documents, she was here illegally and there’s really not much one can do. So it broke my heart, it was incredibly difficult for me to do. But you know what? the real tragedy here is Nicky. After November 2, no one’s gonna be watching out for Nicky Diaz and Jerry, you know, you should be ashamed. You and your surrogates put her deportation at risk, you put her out there and you should be ashamed for sacrificing Nicky Diaz on the altar of your political ambitions.

So is it that Jerry should be ashamed, or is it Meg Whitman who should be ashamed? Whitman even noted that the Nicky that surfaced isn't the Nicky she remembers. She said Nicky used to call her "Meg" even though when she surfaced she called her "Mrs. Whitman."

The housekeeper scandal is politics as usual...a typical political campaign gimmick. This should show voters that Jerry Brown is a stereotypical politician.

However, a billionaire employing an undocumented worker doesn't look so good, either.

Of course, this housekeeper scandal will do a lot to harm Whitman with the Latino voter base, which is really an important demographic in California. Hopefully the issues will shine through and the people of California will choose the best person for the job...but is that someone Meg Whitman or Jerry Brown? After the Housekeeper scandal it's hard to see.

Meg Whitman Housekeeper Scandal Another Political Fracas

Meg Whitman's housekeeper scandal is another political fracas. Meg Whitman, the former eBay CEO, is running for the governor of California. After pouring billions of her own fortune into the campaign, about a month before the election an undocumented worker surfaces and claims that Whitman was her employer and knew of her immigration status.

What gets me is this - the housekeeper surfaces with celebrity attorney Gloria Allred in tow, in the middle of an election where one of the hottest debates centers on illegal immigration. It seems a little bit opportunistic to me.

However, I don't live in California and therefore I won't be affected by the decision made on November 2nd, therefore I can be objective.

Now, Whitman claims that she didn't know that the housekeeper was illegal. However, there's allegedly a letter from the government asking for social security verification that was overlooked.

In the end, any claims that a powerful billionaire like Meg Whitman even employed an illegal immigrant is going to hurt them with the Hispanic voting base. In California, that can be deadly for a campaign. Whitman and Jerry Brown were tied at the last polling. Will that change now after the housekeeper scandal? Only time will tell.

Meg Whitman Housekeeper and Maid Scandal Threatens California Governor's Race?

Meg Whitman's housekeeper and maid scandal could threaten the California Governor's race.  In California, there's a more progressive voter base.  Given that the maid that came forward and said that Meg Whitman hired her despite her being illegal is Latina, chances are the scandal will have a negative impact on the Hispanic voters base.

Whitman claims that she never knew that the maid was illegal until she announced her candidacy in the run for governor.

Gloria Allred, the celebrity attorney, is representing the maid in question. They produced a letter at a press conference, which indicates that the Whitman's had at least some indication that Nicky, the maid, was possibly undocumented.

The former maid is seeking compensation and mileage. Some are pointing to this is a possible political sabotage in the wake of the November 2 election.

Despite throwing an unprecedented amount of her own fortune into the race, Whitman is tied with State Attorney General Jerry Brown.
