California Missile Launch, mystery missile, & UFOs. The California "mystery missile" launch is something that many Americans think is indicative of the government hiding something. After all - they claim that the contrail in the picture to the side is nothing more than a jet contrail.

Early reports seemed to suggest a rogue missile. Was it really a missile shot off by a foreign government, or an accident set off by our own military? Perhaps it was a defense contractor trying out an unarmed warhead, or some mad scientist launching off a rocket.

Perhaps more disturbing than the photos and footage itself was that the US government, NORAD, and the military all seemed to deny any knowledge of what the object might be.

In the end, they came up with a seemingly logical explanation - the California missile launch was really a jet contrail. This was a flight from LAX to PHX, and the footage was taken at just the right angle to make the contrail appear to be a missile.

However, many aren't buying this explanation. After all - if it WERE indeed a flight, wouldn't the FAA have been able to put that rumor to rest early on? Come on!

Perhaps the disturbing thing in and of itself isn't the California Missile launch. Perhaps the disturbing thing is that the missile remains a mystery, and the possibilities of what could be hidden by our government are just too much to bear

California Missile Launch: "Mystery Missile" Still A Mystery? The California Missile Launch remains elusive, as many are still uncertain as to if the missile is really a plane as the administration has said.

After all, if it were a plane, wouldn't the explanation surfaced right when the photo did? I remember watching a newscast, and they said that the FAA had no flight plans heading over that area, the Pentagon didn't have any records of missiles launched at the time.  Furthermore, NORAD didn't have information, either except to say that there was 'no foreign threat' to the United States. 


A couple of days later, the US Pentagon came out and said that the contrail was from a passenger jet flying from LAX to Phoenix. 


Many of our readers have given mixed views on the incidence.  Some say that it is, indeed a jet contrail and that "conspiracy theorists" are reading too far in to this.


Furthermore, others insist that the photo, which is pictured above is really a missile.

California's Proposition 19 Fails, As Pot Legalization Thwarted [PROP 19] Weeks after the election, Prop 19 is still the talk of the nation. Advocates of Prop 19 aren't going to give up now that it has been defeated. Instead, the bill will likely go through some revisions, ironing out some of the weaknesses identified during this legislative process.

For instance, one weakness was that it was municipalities and not the state that was charged with the responsibility of setting taxes on marijuana, which could lead to price wars. Furthermore there is currently no way to easily test if someone is under the influence of marijuana - sort of like the breathalyzer test.

There's almost no doubt in my mind that Prop 19 will be brought back onto the ballot in California during the 2012 elections, and perhaps even in other states as well. Legalizing and taxing pot is really one way that states can pad their budgets.

And considering that Proposition 19 got more votes in California than Meg Whitman, maybe some could venture to say that Californian's would rather have marijuana legalized than have another Republican governor?

The California Missile Launch,an airplane or a mystery missile? Could the recently photographed phenomenon really be nothing more than just a passenger jet?


I don't know about you, but don't you find it hard to believe that The Department of Defense, Pentagon, NORAD, and more couldn't explain what appeared to be a rogue missile sailing through the air in California


Many were worried that there was a threat posed to the US from perhaps a Russian ship. However, that doesn't appear to be the case as the Pentagon has come out and said that the mystery missile was, indeed, just a passenger jet.


Not everyone is buying this, however. Many find it hard to believe that it would take days for the FAA, NORAD, the Pentagon, and various agencies to come up with an explanation on what the California missile was.


I'm hoping that the "mystery missile" is really just an airplane as the authorities said. However, with all the mass speculation by our readers, I'm beginning to think that the California mystery missile will become one of the conspiracy theories of our day.

Reports; Missile Launch California, Was It A Missile or a UFO? There was a mysterious missile launch...or reported missile launch near California today. Was it truly a missile, or something else? There's so much controversy over what appears to be a missile flying through the air. No one - not even the CIA can explain it.

If you look at what it really is, it's really a UFO - Unidentified Flying Object. It's not identifiable, no one knows where it's from. It flew through the air - so it's a UFO.

I would much rather it be a UFO than some of the scarier options. What if it came from another country? Even though the missile doesn't appear to have caused any damage it would be an attack - or at least a show of aggression.

What are your thoughts. Is this just something everyone is blowing out of proportion, or do you honestly think there's a threat behind it?

[Calif.] California Election Results 2010 [UPDATES]

California Election Results 2010 are available.  Major California election races included prop 19, the Senate Race, and the Gubernatorial race.  In the end, prop 19 failed to legalize marijuana.  In addition, incumbent Barbara Boxer kept her seat in the US Senate. 


Jerry Brown, the former governor of California back in the 80's re-claimed his post.  Meg Whitman, the billionaire ex-CEO of eBay lost her bid to become California's first woman governor. This is actually quite curious, because on Glenn Beck yesterday he showed a clip of Jerry Brown saying back in the 80's that you say what you need to say to get elected, but nothing ever changes. 


Carly Fiorina didn't win, either. As we mentioned before, Barbara Boxer is heading back to the Senate.  This is another GOP blow. 


Nancy Pelosi was re-elected to serve another term in the House, although at this time it's uncertain if she will serve.  She was the first female Speaker of the House, dubbed "The Most Powerful Woman in Washington", although she is without her old post now that the GOP took over the House.  John Boehner, the representative from an Ohio District is the presumed speaker of the House now.

Nancy Pelosi Election results 2010 are available, and believe it or not Nancy Pelosi was re-elected quite easily for another term in the House. However, power has shifted in the House and she will no longer be the Speaker of the House, as that has shifted to Republican John Boehner from Ohio.

John Boehner gave a very emotional speech when the GOP took control of the House. Of course, we have to make it through the Lame Duck session before he gets to take his new role but it's a big change in the government.

It's not 100% certain or not if Nancy Pelosi will actually serve her elected term. She has said she will discuss her options with her family, with her caucus, and pray about results of any of her decisions.

California Prop 19 Results [CA PROPOSITION]

California Prop 19 results were somewhat disappointing.  California's proposition which would have made marijuana legal in the state of CA has FAILED.  California prop 19 faced stiff opposition not only from lawmakers, but teachers, parents, and those who thought that the bill was ill crafted. 


Despite the defeat, the "Yes on Prop 19" chair has vowed that "next time" will be when the measure passes.  Until then, the bill creators would benefit from rethinking some of the provisions within the bill, and writing the bill to give the State and not municipalities control over setting the tax base for the drug. 


Many say that marijuana is no more dangerous than alcohol.  The legalization of marijuana could be the "end of prohibition" of modern days.  By legalizing pot, money will stay within the US economy instead of heading down to dangerous drug cartels in Mexico and beyond.

California Governor Election 2010: Meg Whitman Loses To Jerry Brown? California's governor race has been a tight one. Meg Whitman, a self made billionaire and former eBay CEO pumped MILLIONS of her own money into her campaign.

Whitman took the same approach as Bloomberg, but at the same time Bloomberg was successful in becoming mayor of NYC, whereas Whitman may not have been quite so successful at becoming the governor.

We've followed Whitman through the race, and for the most part it's been not so positive for her image. We learned of Nicky, her illegal immigrant housekeeper. Whitman also recently refused to take down Jerry Brown attack ads.

Still yet, I hope Whitman, if she is declared the true loser in the California Governor Election 2010 race she's not discouraged. Perhaps she will see a future helping out California when the time is right.

Proposition 19 Results [PROP 19]

Proposition 19 Results [PROP 19]. Proposition 19 results are expected to be a loss to those who want marijuana to become legalized. However, it's still early in the game so it's not like it's a sure-fire loss for proponents.

The results will pave the way for legalization of marijuana across the country as a whole. However, the legalization of pot won't come without controversy. Some say that Prop 19 will be a "cash cow" for California. Others claim that the so-called tax base will be non existent as municipalities will be able to effectively "price out" each other from the market.

Still yet, some say that legalizing marijuana will allow law enforcement to focus on bigger drug issues, such as those posed by meth, coke, and crack. In addition it will keep money that is typically sent to Mexico in the illegal drug trade inside the US.

California Election Results 2010: Barbara Boxer vs Carly Fiorina Senate Race

California Election Results 2010: Barbara Boxer vs Carly Fiorina.  Barbara Boxer and Carly Fiorina are two of the hottest Senate candidates in the Country.  Barbara Boxer is the Democratic incumbent senator, who is facing opposition from one of the women that Sarah Palin has lovingly dubbed "Mama Grizzlies", Carly Fiorina. 


Fiorina has a great resume, which includes not only surviving breast cancer but also running HP, one of the nation's biggest tech firms. 


Barbara Boxer is expected to win the California senate seat, although the same was believed about Blanche Lincoln, the incumbent from Arkansas who lost to her opponent John Boozman. 


So will California stay blue, or will Californians, like Arkansans, buck back and vote out the incumbent senator?

California Elections 2010

California elections 2010; there are many elections taking place in California tonight that are garnering a lot of attention. The California Elections 2010 include not only prop 19 but also prop 23, an expensive gubernatorial race, and a pivotal senate race.

The implications in California are arguably higher than any other state in the nation. For instance, if Prop 19 passes, then the road will be paved for widespread legalization of marijuana. If prop 23 passes, then a push against the state's version of the cap and trade bill will suggest that cap and trade is not good for the broad economy.

Barbara Boxer and Carly Fiorina are in a fierce Senate battle. If Fiorina wins, it will indicate a shift against incumbents.

'Prop 19' California Legalization of Marijuana

'Prop 19' California Ballot Measure would legalize the smoking of marijuana in the state of California. It would allow individuals to have a small amount of pot for personal use, and would mandate the sale and taxation of the popular, and currently illegal, recreational drug,

Needless to say, Prop 19 is controversial. Opponents of the bill claim that the state should not legalize marijuana because it will make it more accessible to children, and inspire more abuse of the drug.

Proponents of the bill note that it will help create a new source of revenue for the state of California, and create a new economy as well. It should crack down on crime, as it will no longer be a black-market only product.

Medical marijuana patients in California currently worry about how Prop 19 would affect them.

California Pot Referendum: A Boost For Democrats?

California's Pot referendum, or "Prop 19" will be a ballot measure that is watched during the 2010 mid-term elections. If California legalizes marijuana for everyone to use - not just medical marijuana - then it could open up the possibility for Pot to be legalized throughout the country.

Even though you would think that Prop 19 would be pretty much a no-brain winning ballot measure, there's still a lot of controversy around it. With the Democrats and Republicans neck and neck in many of the crucial races of California, the Democrats could stand to gain a lot from this high profile ballot measure.

How? Of the people most excited about prop 19, many of them are under the age of 30. Traditionally, people under 30 will vote democrat.

The California Pot referendum, aka Prop 19, will be something to watch this election day. Maybe, just maybe, it will also help the democrats eeek by their GOP opponents.

Meg Whitman Housekeeper and Maid Scandal Threatens California Governor's Race?

Meg Whitman's housekeeper and maid scandal could threaten the California Governor's race.  In California, there's a more progressive voter base.  Given that the maid that came forward and said that Meg Whitman hired her despite her being illegal is Latina, chances are the scandal will have a negative impact on the Hispanic voters base.


Whitman claims that she never knew that the maid was illegal until she announced her candidacy in the run for governor. 


Gloria Allred, the celebrity attorney, is representing the maid in question. They produced a letter at a press conference, which indicates that the Whitman's had at least some indication that Nicky, the maid, was possibly undocumented. 


The former maid is seeking compensation and mileage. Some are pointing to this is a possible political sabotage in the wake of the November 2 election. 


Despite throwing an unprecedented amount of her own fortune into the race, Whitman is tied with State Attorney General Jerry Brown. 

Meg Whitman Housekeeper an Illegal Immigrant?

Meg Whitman's housekeeper an illegal immigrant? The former eBay CEO and Republican candidate in the California Gubernatorial race is now accused of having an illegal immigrant (undocumented worker). This is a crushing blow to the GOP candidate, although I don't know if it will cost her the race.

The strange thing behind this story is that the illegal immigrant has hired THE Gloria Allred. Yes, the same Gloria Allred who Rachel Uchitel turned to in the wake of the Tiger Woods scandal.

The allegations claim that Whitman was informed by the federal government 7 years ago that her housekeeper Nicky Diaz may be in the country illegally. Whitman denies those claims, saying that she never received such notification.

Allred claims that Whitman and her husband received a letter from the government stating that the Social Security number on file for her client didn't match what the Whitman's had on file. No, the lawyer didn't give a copy of the letter, as her client said she saw it.

This reaks of scandal. Surely Meg Whitman wouldn't lie about hiring an undocumented worker - or lie about receiving a letter from the federal government. That is something you really can't lie about. Nicky Diaz also claims she was mistreated and will be seeking back pay and mileage.

California Senate Race Barbara Boxer vs Carly Fiorina No Endorsement from San Francisco Chronicle

The 2010 California Senate race between Barbara Boxer and Carly Fiorina is one of the highest profile races during the mid-term elections. Part of the reason that the state race is gaining so much attention is because Carly Fiorina used to be the CEO of HP.

So this year is California's executive woman "takeover" year, with Meg Whitman, the former CEO of eBay running for Governor.

Despite the high-profiled nature of the election, one thing will be missing from the 2010 Senate race, and that's an endorsement from the San Francisco Chronicle.

Why not? Well, it's not because they can't decide because the candidates are so good - it's because the paper claims that Barbara Boxer has had an uninspiring tenure in the Senate, and then Carly Fiorina has passion, but the editorial thinks her policies undermine the country.

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger Signs "Chelsea's Law" Into Effect

Arnold Schwarzenegger signed Chelsea’s Law into effect in the state of California .  The law is the result of the tragic murder of Chelsea King earlier this year.  While on a routine run at a park, King was abducted, sexually assaulted, and murdered.

The suspect in the case admitted to killing Amber DuBois, a 14 year old who went missing in 2009.  The suspect was out of jail on parole for other child sex crimes.

The law will ensure that those convicted of certain sex crimes against children will be placed in prison without parole for life.  The crimes under the “one strike” rule will make a determination based on the age of the victim, and whether or not they were bound or drugged.

Other offenders will be placed on lifetime parole if they perpetrate certain crimes against children.

This law will make children safer.  The death of Chelsea King could have been avoided had this law been in place, but out of her death the lives of many innocent children will be made better through the protective measures of Chelsea ’s Law.

Meg Whitman: Arnold Schwarzenegger, CA Legislators Responsible for Budget Delay

Meg Whitman, the former CEO of eBay and California Republican gubernatorial candidate blames current governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and the California legislators for the budget delay.  She adds that public servants such as the governor and legislators shouldn't get paid or be allowed to travel until the budget is passed. 


The delay is negatively impacting schools and health departments. Without a passed budget, students at community colleges cannot get CalGrants, and the state cannot send money to school districts or health departments. 


The argument about the budget has extended, and now the legislators regular sessions are over. Whitman is quick to point out that under her leadership, she would be meeting with the heads of the legislative bodies daily until the budget was passed.


Democrats and republicans are at a stalemate. Democrats in the state want a combination of tax hikes and spending cuts - and a delay on corporate tax breaks voted in last year.  Republicans won't budge on the matter, and won't accept any tax increases. 


Schwarzenegger says that there are no consequences for not having a budget - and that means that they will never pass one on time. 


Meg Whitman is a billionaire and has spent millions of her own money campaigning for the office of governor of the state.

Gay Marriage in California Legal - Will Weddings Resume Wednesday?

Gay marriage in California is now legal, thanks to a ruling by judge Vaughn Walker.  Now that the stay on the ruling against Proposition 8, calling the voter-enacted legislation "unconstitutional", same-sex weddings may begin as early as Wednesday in California.

The judge lifted the stay, but delayed the effects until Wednesday, giving the chance for an appeal.  It's expected that the ruling will be appealed, but same-sex couples are still making their plans to head to city hall Wednesday after 5:00 PM

In addition, municipalities are getting ready for the sudden onslaught of marriage certificate applications, as many couples want to take advantage of the current law as soon as possible.

There are some that say that marriage is an institution between one man and one woman - and that same sex marriages are something different.  Allowing two men or two women to marry goes against tradition and history.

On the other hand, there are many - Glenn Beck included that believe that the government doesn't have the right to dictate who does and does not get married.
