Americans Want to Work Act and Middle Class Tax Cuts

The Americans Want to Work act and Middle Class tax cuts are two hot topics as we enter the political season. There are numerous primaries tonight, and many voters will have these two items on their minds.  The Bush Era Tax Cuts are set to expire at the end of this year, and Congress needs to act if they plan on extending them.

The GOP wants an extension of Tax Cuts, but the democratic party doesn't want to keep taxes low for the ultra wealthy.  Although he supports full reinstatement of all tax cuts, House Minority leader John Boehner has expressed that if the only way to keep taxes low for some Americans is to extend the cuts to the wealthy, he will do that - but the best case scenario is to extend all cuts.

On the other hand, the Americans Want to Work Act is sitting in Congress's queue, and it almost looks as if it should be named the "Congress Doesn't Want to Work Act" based on the non-action taken on the move for another unemployment extension.

The fact remains is this: we need tax cuts, and we need the Americans Want to Work Act to be passed. It's that simple. Keeping taxes lower for everyone and extending unemployment will do a lot to make the economy a lot better

  1. Do wealthy Americans need more tax cuts? Do they really need more money to buy more assets that they do not need? I think that President Obama should impose MORE TAXES on the wealthy.

  2. We need a Tier V unemployment extension. People aren't lazy out there; they are desperate. They need help. I have friends and neighbors who need help NOW. These are people in their 40s and 50s who worked all their lives and want to work now. But there aren't any jobs!

  3. Some people milk UI checks before getting a job no doubt. What % are not? Even if we assume 100% are doing everything possible to find any job what are the facts? No matter what 100% do there are not even close to even jobs to make a dent in 99ers. We passed stimulus to create jobs. Spent billions and being told how UI be under 8% by this time in 2010. Yet total waste as UI clearly has not been reduced and not enough jobs being created to lower UI. So lets help the 99ers with tier 5. We spend billions on a stimulus but won't use some of it to pay for tier 5? Crazy how Congress just does not put Americans in need first. Instead they rather lie to us and say no tier 5 since we have deficit. What BS.

  4. National stats stated 6 people for every 1 job. In high unemployed areas 10 people for every 1 job. It's far worse then this, they are lying to us.

The Emergency Unemployment Insurance Program kicks in at 6.5% yet we are at 9.6% and no automatic extensions.

Milllions of American's jobless, homeless, the know the old saying OUT OF SIGHT - IS OUT OF MIND !

E-mail and phone Congress Now for a Tier V !

  6. If congress doesn't pass the unemployment extension this month I'm staying home on November 2. Some people had their benefits expire months ago(myself included). I've had to borrow money from my grandfather and dont know how I will continue to pay my bills let alone have money for transportation should a job interview finally appear. If I'm going to be screwed by the Democrats what does it matter who's in office? Even if you argue its the Rupublicans who are causing all of this strife, if they are allowed to be that powerful what difference does it make who controls the house and senate? I saw Stabenow on The ED Show yesterday, when he mentioned us, she looked a little taken aback. Whatever the lame stream media talks about, that's what congress works on or at least pretends to. I dont think we're gonna get anywhere with this.

  8. Harry Reid is the reason their is no tier 5,
Harry Reid of Nevada is blocking 3706 the unemployment extension from being voted on.

Please contact harry Reid and ask that he allow 3706 to be voted on.

  9. YES I WATCHED THE ED SHOW AND I SAW THE SAME THING WITH DEBBIE STABENOW. SHE DID NOT WANT ED TO SAY THAT. THEY HARRY REID AND STABENOW JUST WANT US 99ERS TO THINK THAT THEY WILL DO SOMETHING BEFORE THE ELECTION. WELL THEY WON'T TRUST ME. WE THEN HAVE NO CHICE BUT TO VOTE OUT SENATOR STABENOW AND SENATOR REID BECAUSE THEY ARE DRAGGING THEIR FEET. THEN THEY WILL KNOW THAT THEIR GAME PLAN DID NOT WORK. AND THEIR GAME PLAN WAS FOR DEBBIE TO INTRODUCE THIS 99ERS TIER 5 AMERICANS WANT TO WORK BILL BEFORE THEY WENT ON THEIR LONG SUMMER VACATION TO CALM US 99ERS DOWN AND NOW THEY ARE ONLY IN THE HOUSE UNTIL OCT 10TH MAYBE. SO IT'S OVER UNLESS THE ONE NATION RALLY IN WASHINGTON DC OCTOBER 2ND 2010 LITES A FIRE UNDER REID AND STABENOWS BUTT.
PEOPLE (99ERS) WHEN YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE THEN DO WHAT YOU HAVE LEFT AND VOTE THE PROMISE MAKERS OUT OF OFFICE.

  10. If you look at google trends you will note that there are more search inquiries comming from Las Vagas nevada then any other city in the US. If we can make sure that it is public information that Harry Reid of Nevada is the one filibustering 3706 he will have no choice but to allow for a vote, he is up for election this year.

At this point it is all up to Harry Reid of Nevada, we need to ring his phones constantly.

    Reid's numbers

    202-224-7327
    775-686-5750
    775-882-REID (7343)
    702-388-5020

please be nice we want them to want to help us. But if he refuses to help us he needs to join us.
