President Obama's Back to School Speech: Appropriate?

President Obama's "Back to School" speech was the second such address during his presidency.  Last year, parents around the country pulled their children from school, concerned about political indoctrination. This year, the Administration and press were very quiet about the President's annual address.  Some were even shocked to find out (from their children after they home from school, at that!).

The message relayed by the commander in chief are simple messages watered down for the young audience.  He talked about doing your homework, showing up to class on time, and a variety of subjects for living a healthy school life.

Perhaps the most important messages that the President sent, is that he believes that every child is capable of straight A's, but only those who apply themselves will get those kind of marks in school.

The President addressed the nation's youth at 1:00 PM EDT, and all around the country children tuned in to watch him speak in their classrooms.  Click here for more details.
