One Nation Rally Attendance and Glenn Beck Rally Attendance Crowd Comparison

The One Nation rally attendance and Glenn Beck Rally attendance is the latest in the political back-and-forth between the Liberals and the Tea Party movement.  While Beck’s rally was really a “non-political” event, the One Nation rally was distinctly political in nature. 


There were some estimates of Glenn Beck’s rally that point to a crowd of approximately 87,000 people.  However, Beck seems to think that about 500,000 people were there. 


The One Nation rally attendance estimates peg a crowd of around 200,000.  Of course, no one will give an official number to the attendance due to the highly charged political environment.  


The Glenn Beck Rally was a rally to restore honor.  It was a non political charity event, which benefited a charity which helps our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Despite claims that it wasn’t politically motivated, the rally featured Tea Party faces such as Beck himself and Sarah Palin. 


The One Nation rally was a group of hundreds of liberal organizations, labor unions, and the American 99ers Union.  They are demanding the changes they voted for such as higher minimum wages, unemployment extensions, and easier access to labor unions. 


At the end of the month, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are staging dueling rallies.  The Rally to Restore Sanity and the March to Keep Fear Alive are the true Anti-Beck crowds. Although Stewart is respectful of Beck his audience may not hold the same views. The true testament of which group is larger will be the Stewart/Colbert rally attendance.

The One Nation Rally which transpired on Saturday is the talk of the political circles. After the Glenn Beck rally, it only made sense that the liberal demographic would stage their very own event. However, it appears as if the attendance figures for the one nation rally are actually far less than Glenn Beck's rally attendance.

Now, there will be people that argue until they are blue in the face. However look at the photograph here - one of the photos were taken at Beck's rally and the other was taken at this weekend's One Nation rally. Tell me which crowd appear larger?

However, no one is releasing totals on the attendance of the One Nation rally. One non-partisan satellite imagery company issued an estimate of 87,000 for Beck's rally attendance, although he claims more like 500,000 attended. The One Nation organizers claim that 175,000 to 200,000 came to their rally.

The politics are heated, and therefore we won't have a concrete total from the rally. Whose rally was better, Beck's or One Nation? It all depends on who you ask.

Unemployment Extension and One Nation Rally Bring 99ers Tier 5 Hopes

Unemployment extension, one Nation Rally, and the hope of a 99ers tier 5 extension are the talks of liberal circles today. The extension of unemployment benefits currently in place will expire in about two months, which is horrific timing considering its proximity to the holiday season.

In addition, the Senate and House won't reconvene until after the mid-term elections, and if there are politicians who have been voted out of office, what are the chances they are going to try to pass legislation such as an unemployment extension?

Try as she may, Debbie Stabenow was unable to get the unemployment extension vote to the floor of the Senate before they left on Thursday. Senator LeMieux, a Republican from Florida, thwarted attempts to take a unanimous vote on the passage.

Yesterday, the one nation working together rally took place. It was a great rally and some estimates point the attendance at about 100,000. That's no small feat considering that there are many unemployed individuals who couldn't afford to attend the rally.

However, what the One Nation rally shows is this - there are those out there fighting for the cause. If the unemployment extension tier 5 99ers bill is passed, it's because of people like those who attended the One Nation Rally's continuous fight.

Unemployment extension? What unemployment extension? That's the problem we face right now. The Senate has already left to go home and campaign for the mid-term elections, and the 99ers are left without a hope for a tier 5. What's worse is that the benefits extension that was passed back in July after millions of Americans went months without benefits will expire again on November 30.

If the Republican party gets seats in the House and Senate as expected this November, chances for a Tier 5 extension are all but gone. The conservative party has been increasingly critical of the Democrats for their stimulus plans and "pay as you go" bills. If a tier 5 extension bill comes to Congress which has a clear cut and agreeable way for funding, it would likely get passed. However, no one wants to pay for the unemployment extension.

Ask any American and they'd tell you that they'd rather send their tax dollars to fellow Americans than overseas. Why are we giving aid to Pakistani flood victims when Pakistan harbors terrorists from time to time? What's wrong with that picture?

Hopefully the American 99ers Union and the hundreds of other liberal organizations gathering in DC today will be able make headway for the unemployment extension. A tier 5 is needed, and from what I see there aren't many politicians who seem to care.

One Nation Rally Brings Unions, 99ers, and Tea Party Haters Together

Today the One Nation Working Together Rally will bring together hundreds of liberal groups in hope of inspiring Americans to head to the polls on November 2nd.  The One Nation rally is, in a sense, a counter to Glenn Beck's Rally to Restore America.  The rally takes place before Stewart and Colbert's dueling rallies, which are slated for tonight.

Some criticize the rally because it is staged AFTER congress has already left to go home and there's nothing that can be done before the mid-term elections.  However, there's a lot of hope that those running for office will see what is important to Americans and keep that in mind.  It will be interesting to see if the rally will impact nay campaign promises from both the Democratic an GOP sides. 


The GOP's main focus is passing the Bush tax cuts.  If they expire, it's going to amount to one of the largest tax hikes in our modern day.  Still, there's a lot of partisan push and pull - with the Democrats chastising the Republicans for wanting to cut taxes, while the Republicans are chastising the Democrats for the stimulus spending.
